Man that
"Stock up on canned goods, you never know" bit really boomeranged for us this year huh.
Funny what pointless lockdowns will do to food prices!
2:34. You know it's a bad game when the broadcast can't even keep the score straight.
Emily Plays they were probably bored out of their minds.
It was the way he edited this video. It was not chronological
Took me a while to see it
2011 Bama team was one of my favorite championship teams. I almost love that everyone hates on them so much. One of the best defenses in CFB history.
Not as good as their 2015 team
What's makes this even more funny, LSU played Bama in basketball a few months later and there was a guy in the middle of the stands w/ a sign that said "Can LSU pass half-court?".
Priceless!!
Les Miles ate grass from every stadium with natural grass lol
lol
The worst World Cup final, Wimbledon final, Masters championship, NFL Draft?
@ClintDempsey76 we got the easiest route but had arguably the best team in tournament. Ballon d'Or winning attacking partnership, great defense, many future greats in the squad (R10 and Kaká). We have 2 out of the the 5 Ballon d'Or winners in that tournament and more FIFA WPOTY than there rest of the tournament. The team had so much quality.
2005 nfl draft has the worst top 10 ive ever seen every guy is either a bust or ok at best alex smith was the only decent player in that top 10
Worst Wimbledon Final - 2014 women's or 2010 men's
@Benj Smith Productions I'd argue for 2010 as the worst WC final
worst Masters Tournament: 2007
Time to make another worst College Football National Championship Georiga vs TCU
Ong tho
Lol true
The PREVIOUS worst one was only a 62-24 blowout.
Yep
Not the same context though........
What pissed every Lsu fan off about this game is that the backup qb played amazing all year but les miles decided to be les miles and put in Jefferson
Breesus Christ that’s the one thing that I could never understand about that game.
Yeah I was at this game, and literally the whole stadium was chanting for Les Miles to put Lee in the game. Needless to say, as a young, die hard LSU fan at the time, I was pretty heart broken.
Facts Jared Lee was amazing that season
Breesus Christ what are you talking about Jefferson was the better Quarterback the other guy threw 12 picks against Alabama.
So no les played the right quarterback stop making up excuses.
What every pissed off LSU fan doesn’t understand, is that there wasn’t a quarterback on the LSU roster that could’ve done any better.
Before it starts: the Bama-Notre Dame game the next year was worse. The Irish obviously didn’t belong. At least in this game it seemed like LSU’s defense belonged. Nothing of Notre Dame’s performance in the next year’s game looked like something that belonged
Would personally have preferred to see Oregon-Bama or K-State-Bama. But they both lost right before the final week of the regular season.
Should’ve been OSU ND if it wasn’t for the ncaa
Not in 2012, you're thinking of 2011.
So if OSU hadn't of cheated, they would've been in. Key word: cheated.
marktastic86 Not a Buckeye fan, but how is selling your own property cheating?
I remember talking my mom into letting me stay up and watch this game. I went to bed at halftime because it was such a boring ass game
Lmao thats how i felt with uga tcu
"Ugh, defense", the video
I remember this game, the Cowboys and Bama was in contention with the BCS National Championship. The year for the Cowboys, beat OU, and only loss against Iowa State. I remember the live broadcast against OSU, my mom screamed when they revealed we where facing Stanford. To every Cowboy Fan, who had a superb season, and the dream team that could've won the Championship, was replaced by a tired old trend of Bama.
Personally, They should've let OSU face LSU, because it would be better to have a close game than what I saw during the Actual Championship.
But, I guess that is why we have playoffs now.
I like how you just brush over the fact that their only loss was to Iowa St. They were favored by 5 tds and lost to unranked Iowa St. Meanwhile, Alabama's only loss was to SEC Champion and #1 ranked LSU.
@@tycalvert7322 because they lost the women's basketball coach and his wife the day before the game in a plane crash, so maybe the didn't play that game to fullest potential.
@@656hookemhorns Excuses. One loss by a field goal to the number 1 team versus a loss to an unranked team. Shouldn't have even been a discussion.
"replaced by a tired old trend of Bama" huh? At the time, Bama had only been in one title game since the BCS started, and only had two championships in the previous 30 years. Nobody was thinking "ugh, not Bama again" in 2011. And clearly it was the correct decision because Bama handled LSU, and you're kidding yourself if you think Oklahoma State wouldn't have gotten blown out of the stadium.
As an LSU fan, no moment will ever be worse than November 18, 2011. The night Oklahoma State was blindly robbed of a field goal against Iowa State, an outcome that enabled ESPN to campaign for Alabama to get a second chance against us.
Gabe Marcus complete bullshit. Bama had no right to be in this game
@ClintDempsey76 ?
@@ghostfac3182 They lost by 3 in OT to the team about to play in BCS Title game. Oklahoma St. got beat by unranked Iowa St. Alabama belonged, proved they belonged, and were once again Champions.
Its like LSU didn’t care about winning that night and knew OKST still should have been there.
Ty Calvert That’s interesting, seeing as in 2006 Michigan lost to Ohio State by 3 to the team that would play in the BCS and it was decided that two teams from the same conference shouldn’t play in the national championship....
But the SEC doesn’t like following rules
We may have a new worst natty
😂😂😂😂
Without a doubt! That game was over by the early third quarter. The previous worst assblasting in a championship game was 38 points.
Yea lmao
These games are always my favorite because all it takes is one big play by either team to change the course of the whole game.
I can finally watch this video after this year's championship. So many bad memories dredge up every time I remember the game
I remember so many of my friends saying college football was better than the NFL which I didn't watch college because I didn't have anyone to cheer for finally deciding to say screw it and see how it was for myself with this being the game that said friends were so hyped about...I fell asleep before the first half ended.
Florida State vs Oklahoma in 2001 was a good remedy for insomnia.
"Inevitability of powerful forces winning"
Does SB Nation forget that it took 28 point underdog Iowa State beating the #2 team in the country to put this scenario into play?
Seriously, it was a whole string of potential championship teams losing. If I remember right, Stanford and VT could have weaseled their way in, too, if people didn't want to do a rematch, but both lost right at the end.
Not to mention it was right after OSU suffered a tragedy right before their one defeat, and precedent dictated that OK State should have gotten in anyway. But hey, TPTB decided they wanted another ridiculous defensive spectacle again instead of giving a chance to a team that didn’t lose to LSU at home.
@@chefz2749 Excuses. Tragedy off field doesn't change the fact that a team with one loss against the #1 team by a field goal got in over OKS who lost to an unranked opponent they were predicted to win by 5 touchdowns. Yes it was tragic but they don't get in just because of sympathy.
The Worst College Football Playoff between Georgia and TCU needs to be next if they ever do ore of these.
Man was looking for this comment
As a husker fan, (someone who sorely missed defense this year) I respect this game
As an LSU fan I dislike this vid...but as a sbnation fan I like it
I feel u man, I’m till pissed about this game
BULLFROG Alabama shouldn't play LSU in the BCS game
If you were a bama fan this was a great game having a rematch against the team that beat us and only letting them cross the 50 yard line once the entire game
You mean you'd think the game was good if it resulted in your favorite team winning the championship? No kidding.
Especially since you backed your way in.
Especially considering LSU only won the first game because the Alabama kicker missed FOUR kicks
Well i said if you were a bama fan it was a great game. But I thought the game itself was a great showing of defense on both sides. Yea it was a low scoring game but i think the nail biter games are better than watching blowouts.
my favorite vids to watch on the toilet 😍😭
An honor and privilege
That first matchup (9-6 LSU) was legitimately great. Great defense is fun to watch. This one was just worse because LSU wasn't really competitive this time around.
the 2013 title game with ND and Bama was so much worse, the game was over in the first quarter
This was famously a very strange string of events that led to this final. The only way someone could refer to this as inevitable is if they only saw some stat lines. You guys remember Iowa state, no?
As an Oklahoma State fan this really pissed me off
Barbara Anderson This pissed me off at the age of 4!!!!!!!!!
Barbara Anderson like it or not, Alabama was better than Oklahoma State.
@@thecrown_jul prove it! You can't, they backed in.
@@thecrown_jul Bama didn't win it's division, never mind the conference.
I’d say this year we have our best chance, and with a lot of our good players being seniors, it’s all or nothing this year
Your off on this one. The national title where alabama blew out notre dame was the worst in hustory. Not even a game really. It was an embarrassment
I like defensive games, just me? Ok.
I actually like defensive games, but they are much more enjoyable when the offenses can actually play, well, offense. Main reason why people hated Super Bowl 53 (besides the halftime show and the Patriots winning), it was a good defensive game but the offenses were just so terrible it really overshadowed the defensive play
I like good defense to. But bad offense is not enjoyable
I wouldn’t mind a zero zero tie, it would be cool to witness history
@@loganmoreau7569 I thought the halftime show sucked
@@ck-1649 it was pretty bad, I think it’s one of the most disliked videos on RUclips 😂
I'm usually a pretty big college football fan. I watch a lot of it. I work in a field related to it today. And I absolutely do NOT remember this game even happening.
You help them former players supplement their income?
LSU Fan here. So glad I deployed a week before this. I remember being pissed I would miss it too
LSU has more alligators than Florida.
@Skippy the Alien Grew up hunting and raising gators
As an LSU fan I put off watching this video and reliving this game for so long
The Worst Stanley Cup
Deus Vult Easy, 2001
Funny cats
Idk that one is a classic man, back and forth, an iconic moment, What's not to like unless you are a Devils fan.
2007 comes to mind. Ottawa got ragdolled around by Anaheim during the entire "series" (let's call it that) and the series winning goal was a own goal by Chris Phillips, a 1st overall pick by the Senators in the late 90's when players like Pronger and Kariya were avaliable, and that Pronger guy was playing for the Ducks in 07 so...yeah
2007
That Bama Walk off bomb, special effects have gotten real good.
that intro with the Bama play is giving me PTSD as a Georgia fan it’s literally torture lmao
If LSU had made it close, they might have gotten a split National Championship. 21-0...yeah no split
kalebpost20 Not, cause Bama beat themselves at home and everyone knows it !!!
Thank you Iowa State for making this happen.
That game was a real yawner. Both teams looked like they had been partying too much. Bama held LSU to only 92 total yards and an uninspired 21-0 shutout.
This year was just depressing. Not only did you have this game, but the BCS literally made Boise State play in the MAACO bowl to end their season.
50-3 #7 Boise State had to play 21-27 unranked Arizona State...
The only reason Alabama played LSU in the 2011 BCS National Championship Game is because of Oklahoma State. Let me explain: OK State 10-0 going into their Nov. 18 matchup at Iowa State. They lost to Iowa State, had Nov. 26 off, and defeated Oklahoma on Dec. 3, the same day LSU won the 2011 SEC Championship Game. There's two reasons Penn State got left out of the 2016 College Football Playoffs: 1, they lost two games and 2, they aren't as big of a brand name than Ohio State. My point is this: Had Oklahoma State been a bigger brand name than it actually is, or if Oklahoma had been in OK State's shoes in 2011, there would have not been a rematch between Bama and LSU.
Who's here after today's absolute abomination of a game
U know why we here
The only good thing about the one this year was an exciting OT. Otherwise it would compete for the worst. I was at a friends house and we couldn’t pay any attention to the SEC Championship game.
How come great defensive games are called "bad games"? I don't like watching two teams score a combined 110 points with 1100 combined yards
Aye at 1:12 #5 jerrell Harris and #21 Dre Kirkpatrick went to my high school
Nagisa Furukawa Awesome! Someone else from Gadsden watching this lol
How did you talk about this game without mentioning OSU getting shagged out of being in the final. How did the people at the BCS think a field goal filled, offensively lacking rematch between two SEC teams no one can stand was a good idea.
These are consistently great, keep it up!
Thanks!
I am here for the dramatic drive chart readings!
It was the worst because Bama got rewarded for losing the game and everyone knew that LSU got screwed.
If LSU was the best team in the country and deserved the natty they could have just won that game. They just got exposed because Bama was better that year, which is what the national championship game is supposed to do... decide who the better team is.
They poke fun at the “game of the century” during the regular season game. The reason it’s dubbed this is because it was a #1 vs #2 matchup. And both games were just defensive. Not many people like defensive games but doesn’t make them bad.
Les Miles exquisite play calling + Jordan Jefferson's top notch quarterback skills = another Bama National Title
does anyone see how it says nine nothing LSU. I don't even think the narrator saw it. This is at 2:36 but it was fix on the next segment.
We should of been there ........
Oregon fans feel the same way. Would’ve loved to see a UO v OSU natty that year, I like the pokes
Oregon played LSU earlier that season... and got blown out
Losing to unranked Iowa St. immediately eliminated Oklahoma St. Alabama lost one game in OT to the #1 Team in the country who was about to play for a BCS Title.
Ty Calvert OSU has the women’s basketball ball team all die in a plane crash right before the Iowa State game. You could say that that might have contributed to them not playing up to snuff against a team they were suppose to win against.
Seth Hagler oh please. They led 24-7 and suddenly got depressed? Are you kidding me?
The worst college football national championship was easily Notre Dame vs Alabama. Notre Dame had no business in that game! Idc what their record was, it was such a mismatch. Notre Dame needs to join a conference or never get into the playoff💯
Notre Dame had triple the offense LSU did in yards.
I agree Notre Dame has hurt college football.
Notre Dame was undefeated going into that game against Alabama. But their typical difficult opponents like MSU and Oklahoma had really down years that year, which made Notre Dame look better than they actually were. Beating Stanford in South Bend was their only quality win.
Notre Dame should have lost against Pittsburgh that year, but won on a phantom pass interference call on what should have been a 4th down stop by Pittsburgh to seal the game. Ohio State, Florida, and Oregon probably all deserved to be in that championship game over Notre Dame.
The ill informed in this thread is baffling.
tOSU was on probation, otherwise they would have played Notre Dame. Bama is lucky that happened.
Florida couldn't even win the SEC East and got stomped by Louisville.
Oregon, maybe, but Notre Dame played Spread Teams well that year.
Also, Oklahoma went 10-3, if that is a down year than I can't imagine a good year.
Idiocy all around this thread.
Joey Basford I forgot about the Terrelle Pryor thing, good catch.
"A good year" for Oklahoma would be something like this past year. Not a year where they get curb-stomped by Texas A&M.
What about when Oklahoma beat Florida State in Orange Bowl 13-2 for the BCS national championship
Florida VS Nebraska mid to late 90's (??) National Championship game. Nebraska scored over 60 pts, Tommie Frazier and L. Phillips went bonkers. and Florida had no answers whatsoever. A horrible game to watch unless your a Husker fanatic. USC VS Oklahoma was a similar horrible blowout game, which is mainly remembered for Ashlee Simpson's ear shredding attempts at singing a pop song.
Worst NFL Pro Bowl. Most of them are unexciting, but there is one that had to be so bad
i loved it. not rewatchable but in real time it was great. i also played football and love defense. it was better than some blowouts
Only a bad game when you hate defense with a vengeance
I mean I like defense but a whole lot of quick punts is kinda boring to me in the same way that a game ending 45-48 would be.
OK State should have played LSU...
Don't you mean OK State should've played Alabama for the championship instead of LSU since LSU proved they weren't a legit title contender after getting manhandled all night by Alabama?
Besides, the Pokes had their chance. Their path was wide open and beset before them but they blew it by losing in mid-November to an unranked Iowa State team who either had a losing record or only barely qualified for a bowl game.
I jusr remember everyone but LSU having one loss at the end of the regular season that year, and Alabama now had the best argument for inclusion since they not only already had better wins than the other teams competing for that spot, but they were also now left with having the best loss too since theirs was to the #1 team in OT. And it's not like Alabama has done anything since then to demonstrate they aren't a championship caliber program undeserving of competing for championships; a là what Notre Dame, Auburn, and Oregon would do for the next 3 years.
They lost to Iowa St. No they shouldn't have.
@Britton Thompson - In all fairness, LSU played Oregon in that special game to kick off the beginning of the season. Then beat Alabama in an ugly defensive stalemate. And then to top it off, LSU wins the SEC Championship. All while Alabama was granted a rematch with ample rest. Alabama was meant to win the game provided that the Tide had nearly 2 months to refresh while LSU in fairness played a tougher schedule and barely had a little over a month to prepare for the championship game. Overall, this LSU loss proved to be the beginning of Les Miles catastrophic nose dive after so much success at LSU as a head coach. Translation: The BCS or CFC gifted Alabama. Don't get me wrong, they are a great program, but they did lose on their home field to LSU. And we all know it's extremely difficult to beat any team 2x in a row, especially within the same season.
Todd Sands in all fairness les miles was never that good. And I think you are exaggerating the rest time both teams had
Todd Sands he was good enough to get the job. But that national championship was won in his first year with a team coached and recruited by Nick Saban. And you don't make the mistakes that Les is known for and stay at the top. Agreed that winning a rematch is almost impossible. But there was no better matchup than LSU v Bama. Ok st definitely did not belong there.
I live in Ohio and I forgot about the Zanesville thing. That was crazy. At least I think it was Zanesville.
This game was the day after my birthday and 2 weeks after getting home from my first deployment to Afghanistan. I have more PTSD from this
Well, the first match-up. That National championship game broke my heart.
I remember reading tweets from Kobe about flying the Ducks over and having a real game. They beat Wisconsin in a nail biter in the Rosebowl.
Worst wild card/divisional game?
Bills @ Jaguars easy
^
👀
Chiefs vs Titans
Dolphins vs Jaguars
The Worst College Football National Championship: *If you're not a fan of defense*
you should start a series of 'the best' sports series/games
This was my 5th grade year. I talked so much crap to the Bama fans and then this game happened. I stayed up until the game was over. Needless to say I ate crow.
this is far from the worst title game, nobody could beat lsu or bama that year, it’s called defense, and i’m an lsu fan.
I'd love to see a Worst Daytona 500. 2000, 2006, and 2013 are all contenders for that
I skipped this game because I knew it wouldn't have been any different from their regular season matchup, which was supposed to be "Game of the Century," only go play out more like "Bore of the Century."
I thought yall were gonna put the bama vs notre dame game lmao
Do an episode on the 1993 game between Florida St. and Notre Dame. Nobody gave the Irish a shot to win that game. One of the best college football games i ever saw!!!
U take 2 great defenses and act like the Bama offense was bad and that makes it a boring game see that's why the sec wins so much cause they play defensive football it's not boring
Josh Terrell but 21-0 is boring and terrible for a championship
Mysticalman Hayden it's not like it was 21-0 at half and nothing happened lsu was 2 TDs away from tying the game up I promise lsu and bama fans were not bored
Obviously LSU & Bama fans wouldn't be bored, their teams were in the national championship lol. As far as majority of the non-LSU & Bama fans, we agree it was a snooze fest. It's all opinion though.
Why is it that when someone makes a Worst College Football National Championship it always includes UAT?
I remember watching this thing. Was willing to kill for someone, ANYONE, to score a TD.
Nice to know we got that income inequality thing sorted out.
I miss this series
You guys should do the worst home run derby
I'm an LSU fans and I expected this
My dinner tonight was pretty bland, but thankfully this video provided a lot of salt.
Robby Simpson cringe
I thought both Alabama LSU games that year were great.
I like good defense.
However, why can't Nick Saban ever find a decent field goal kicker?
Mark Daniel Amazing how the BCS likes defense when it suits their bank accounts.
Not when TCU goes back to back years with #1 defenses in the country and back to back undefeated seasons.
2:34 It incorrectly had LSU being up by nine.
anybody else notice at 2:35 it says 9-0 LSU?
I remember watching this game and wondering why LSU did not substitute qb Jordan Jefferson! That was the worst CFB National Title Game!
Worst Home Run Derby and/or Worst Winter X Games.
Think ya mentioned Occupy Wall Street enough times? Who the hell wrote this episode- Bernie Sanders?!
100 plus years and college football is the only sport without a playoff
I still think that Bama-ND the next year was much, much worse. ND has no reason to be in that championship the next year.
ScallywagBeowulf At least Norte dame scored, sure it was in garbage time against backups, but it’s better than LSU not even being able to do that
Hmmm? Should've had OSU?
foh
Yeah- definitely should have been a team that lost to a 5 touchdown underdog. That’s absolutely Championship material.
No
It was kind of a catch 22 situation. Putting in OSU would’ve been bad because they lost a game they had no business losing. Putting in Alabama was bad because they basically got a bye week & an extra week to prepare for LSU since they didn’t need to do a conference championship game.
The four-team playoff format is better than what we had, but they need to expand to an eight-team playoff imo: Power 5 champs with the rest of the three being either undefeated mid majors (yes, it’s controversial but smaller schools deserve a shot like Boise State a few years back) or at-large Power 5 teams.
I wish there was mention that LSU could've benched the obviously struggling Jefferson at quarterback but were determined to not have a chance at an offense at all in the game.
The worst tennis grand slam would be interesting.
If it had been LSU vs. OkState, this might have not been a bad game
He needs a “The Best” series too.
Rewinder is kind of like that. That’s all of the best moments in sports history
2:34 They messed up the score. Bama is supposed to have the 9 points
I disagree. That Alabama defense was a thing of beauty. One of my favorite games.
Agree, an incredible half game, but 50% is an F grade.
He called the LSU/Bama BCS Championship game an ugly.I was speaking of Bama's defense who shut out in LSU in the 2011. A+ for them.
Vice Man - I absolutely agree.
You guys definitely listened cause I requested this after the last vid
“Stock up on canned foods, you never know”
Accidentally Ballistic missile warning 2 days later...
Those were the two best teams. Given the time to prepare,Coach Saban is the best at getting a team ready. If you want to see a game with bad defense,go watch the the pac 12 or big 12 championships👍
Alabama never should have been in that game anyways. But that was the BCS....
Ethan Cary 6 seasons later and Bama SNEAKS its way into the playoff
They definitely should've been there.
TEAM CLASSIC SONIC what the playoff was supposed to prevent even losing to auburn in the last regular season game like OKST did in 2011.
