@sweett7609 thanks, I was surprised I could build a functional pc for that cheap. I'm not familiar with fornite so there is probably more performance to be found there in the settings.
Not bad build for $250. Even with just a air tower cooler I would have done a small overclock to the CPU. Your Fortnite numbers seem low, particularly for Performance mode. Most people play Fortnite at what is known as Pro settings which is the View Distance set to High or Epic and all other settings set to Low, while keeping the resolution scaling at 100%. I'm sure you'll get easily over 100fps on average at those settings with Performance mode. At that price point and the performance its hard to recommend spending too much on aesthetics. You could look into cable extensions or a set of thermalright argb fans, but I would limit the spend no $25-35 at most. I think retesting Fortnite with the settings above and including benchmarks for games such as Apex, Valorant, GTA 5, League of Legends etc. will help the PC sell. I was so shocked at your Fortnite performance I had to go back and look at some of the videos of my recent budget builds. An old office PC that was upgraded with an i7-4790 (non-K) and a gtx 1060 6gb performed miles better than your PC so I suspect that its something to do with your settings.
@@rathstar yeah I'm sure it's an optimization problem, as that is not my cup of tea when it comes to games. I'll see what I can do with it. Thanks for watching!
Hey, interesting) Budget is awesome! But to me this GPU is bottelnacked by CPU like a lot. I'm pairing 1660 Super with Ryzen 5 3600 and that is giving 195 fps in Fortnite and 142 fps in Apex 1080p medium settings. Sure, it is more expensive CPU ~$60 but works better with 1660S in games. Maybe just a bit better CPU could make a boost to performance. imho 1660S is too luxury for this build. I'm trying to have a target of what a new owner can do with pc.
🙂 those specs are very decent for an older computer, but if the buyers market requires fortnite to run butter smoothly then I guess u need to build something newer and stronger, its not your fault, im rebuilding my Core2Quad rig 🐢 next week, fortunately the only requirement is that it runs fine and then I will put it back on my shelf 😊 after that i have two more to rebuild: i7-870 & FX 8350 🐢🐢
I think something went very wrong with the CPU there because it should have been running WAY better than that. I have one PC with a 1st gen i7 that performs better than your 6700K is here. Would advise you look into that because something is definitely not right. Also your discord link is expired, both times I've tried to join in the past 2 weeks it's been expired. If you could fix it, when I join I can help make a permanent link if you need?
@JackPCBuilds yeah I thought so top. Spent some time fooling around with it but ultimately it struggled. The discord link on my channel page should be correct, try that one if you can.
Very impressive to be honest, nice job 👍

@@CasualTechReview Yeah with new tech coming out, it would make older hardware like cpus and gpus a lot cheaper depending on their availability.
If that was performance mode then that should have run WAAAY better, it seems like something is wrong with your cpu as it runs on 27c
@potato927 yeah I was expecting better performance as well.
I think your PC was probably the most powerful of the 3, although the aesthetics aren't 100% there, but it's a solid rig.
Great video!
@PC.customs no expense was allocated towards aesthetics. Wanted to see what pure performance could be. Not much...
@@CasualTechReview fair enough. Great video, and good competition
@@PC.ustoms same!
I would put some cheap ARGB case fans and sell it for $350-$400. I’ve seen worse systems for more money.
@millionairewine3408 yeah some thermalright fans would help it out, and only be 15 bucks. That may very well be what I do.
Common Casual Tech Review W! Dude I almost went for the same CPU/Mobo combo but it didn’t work without ARGB headers so I pivoted lol. Great build!!
@Budgetiers much appreciated, it was a fun competition and really challenging. Would love to do something similar again!

If you keep it, overclock the cpu to 4.5-4.6ghz and overclock the gpu 100-150mhz and the memory by 500mhz. It will help with your 1% lows.
@JamesSmith-sw3nk yeah I may try messing with it some more.
Great build, looks clean!
@@AlexHusTech appreciate it, leaned into squeezing whatever performance I could without aesthetics.
@@CasualTechReview At that price point it's all about performance over aesthetics.
@AlexHusTech for sure, no place to cut to add rgb, cable extensions etc.

@justin8mux of course it is, I just got a great deal on it so I slapped it in there.

@@MrSamadolfo yeah if I do list it for sale, I will be upfront about the performance. Never want anyone to be disappointed with their purchase.
... one more thing, I did a similar build, i5-4690 + gtx960, had no better option to sell for about $220, it was "pure" minecraft/dota/sims pc :)
@justin8mux yeah that's about what this one is. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with it, but that's an option.
I will sugest find a motherboard for the 3600 cause the 6700 is clearly the problem cause it cpu bottlenecking the rx 6600
Again, there was a strict $250 dollar budget restriction.
1% lows lower than 60 will make any game suck
True.
what do you use to edit your videos?

That one's temporary as well, but the best I can do at the moment.
The rx 6600 is able get over 240 fps when it not bottleneck by cpu
I didn't use an rx6600, it's a 1660 Super.
My version is underway…

Never buy a cpu with lower performance than a 3600 or 5500
This was a $250 dollar budget build, those CPU's were not attainable in the price bracket.
Can I participate in this challenge?
@@NemusDark of course. Do a build and make a video to show it off!
1660 super will perform way better in a 9-11th gen systems 6700 is too old
@gamingallday954 yep I totally agree, that was the weak spot in this system. Going to swap out the motherboard and cpu for something newer.
Anything your gpu is not at 95 to 100% usage all the time it mean it cpu bottleneck
The cpu definitely held back the performance, but it was $250 dollars.
The cpu is simply too weak to play fornite even my 5700x3d get to 100% sometimes
Yes.
just say no to RGB 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
