The worst feeling is when you get locked out of max% completion. It happened to me in Origami King when I didn't know about how to get 102% and it felt awful.
goldensun would do this too, especially on the DS version, where there will be points of no returns, where missing a book, could spell the end of your 100%

My favourite 100% completion reward ever, was the miniature figurine collection, in the Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap.
It gained you access to the locked house in Hyrule town, which contained 3 chests, full of rupees, a phonograph where you could listen to the games entire soundtrack, and of course, the final heart piece in the game!
Of course there's also the golden tingle statue for completing every kinstone fusion, but you don't get anything for that!
Missing the light arrows is probably the most annoying part of 100% completing minish cap lol
I still have a save file on my copy from when I was a kid that has one Kinstone left to fuse. I scoured the entire map multiple times and could never find it.
That tingle statue is probably the greatest 100% reward ever
There are two trophies in the game, a secret room, hundreds of kinstone pieces and figurines. But guess what, you can't get them all in the PAL version! (Why? Idk, the glitches made me miss a single kinstone piece, not winning the tingle statue. I got the figurines trophy, but after I got it, the game crashed)

Back when games gave you something for going out of the way to 100% it like a congratulatory message from the developers or in Super Mario Galaxy's case getting to play the game as Luigi and if you 100% with Luigi you would get a bonus level and a message from the dev team.

@@antonio6035 The Switch version of Mario Galaxy 1 is half-emulation, so, it's hard to say for me, as I've not done proper research. I DO know though, that the reason we could not use our Miis for our save file for the Switch version, is because Nintendo would have to inject a Wii BIOS file into 3D All Stars to even get Miis working for to be our save file icons for Mario Galaxy 1 on Switch, which they didn't put in a Wii BIOS file

Just seeing Susie in the thumbnail makes me want to rebuy the game. It’s not my favorite Kirby game, but man I want to replay it along with Triple Deluxe.
Susie and President Haltmann were my favorite bosses in Kirby: Planet Robobot. Mainly because of their battle suit mechs. But their 100% complete performance cutscene would be better if Kirby was in it, too.

The metroid rewards aren't for getting 100%, they're for beating the game quickly enough

Like Hawwdy said, unmasked Samus only shows up in 100% runs that happened fast enough, but this channel tends to reuse clips, so if there was an error, it's most likely because of "stock clips"
I absolutely love the robobot ending. It’s adorable to see Susie sing the theme and haltman just jamming out in the background
Just seeing Susie singing happyly is just adorable, I wish i had the game again. The final boss maybe hard but i finally beat it one day.
I remember actually getting the 100% Link's awakening one. Took me a long time due to being much younger. It was cool to notice the difference, but my friends didn't believe me.
Back in the good old days when the game developers actually gave you something interesting when you completed a game 100%. Now you are lucky if you even get a 100% on the main menu screen or maybe just get some more poop from Hetsu.

you also forgot that for kirby planet robobot not only do you unlock the cutscene, but also you get the secret UFO ability
iirc you can also get it by scanning a kirby amiibo at any point in the game

I mean hestu’s gift is only for all the koroks, but I can’t help but think the point of it isn’t the reward but rather how cool getting there was. When you actually get 100% (not just koroks) nothing happens.
I also think the game isn’t meant to be 100% completed. There are so many koroks to get everyone their seeds without having to explore every corner of the map

No matter what game we play, getting 100% may be hard, but the results can always be satisfying.
Next to none of these are remotely satisfying relative to the work it takes
Also, not all games has collectiables to indicate an % of compleation... Mostly with Sandbox games.

Fun fact; in the Luigi’s Mansion canon, the first game’s true ending is the D-Tier mansion, I actually like better than the others because it shows that Luigi still loves his brother, no matter what

Praying for that. Gaming hasn't been the same since 2016. Overwatch was my last stand in the gaming world and 2 is dumpster fire, removing everything I loved about the game and making it another cash grab.

Hestu's Gift should be used as a bonus in BOTW2. Something people find upsetting or funny at first but end up happy by the next installment.
Here's one I know of for Mario Party 2. Once you buy all of the three available categories of minigames in Minigame Land from Woody...that'll unlock the Minigame Coaster. Complete it on Normal and Hard difficulty to make Item and Battle minigames usable, once you bought all the remaining games of those categories, your final reward will be a one player game you can play when you go to Woody: Driver's Ed.

The only one of these that I’ve gotten before was the Kirby triple deluxe one. I’ve 100% super Mario galaxy 2, super Mario 3d land, and new super Luigi U, but they give you secret stages, not secret cutscenes.

One of the Kirby 3DS cutscenes was just a reskin of the super star ultra DS 100% completion scene. A wider cast of characters in the audience and Dedede on stage performing with Kirby, instead of in a front row seat watching Kirby's performance. Other than that pretty much identical.
