I think classical music is very much appreciated by lot of gamers for example. Especially RPG gamers. Most of my favorite music that comes from games is classical music and that's coming from someone who is more of a electronic music type of guy. Even though there is a lot of games with electronic music, I still very much prefer classical music in games and most of my favorite music from games is indeed classical music. Not even close.

Btw the name of the multi instrumental playing guy is Richard Harvey.
In 2017 I was at a live concert by another film composer, James Newton Howard.
During the concert he showed an excerpt from the film "King Kong". The scene where Kink Kong and the blonde woman approach each other (Central Park scene). Once without music and then with music. Film music is the sugar glaze on a film.
