I really like the effect that you were able to achieve with this style of painting. I'm not normally a big fan of painting the wood turning. But I do like this. Thanks for sharing.
I think your effect is fantastic, I’m not usually a fan of painted turned wood bowls though. I really like the bowl that has natural outside finish the best as you can see and appreciate the skill of the Woodturner and natural beauty of nature and the timber. Thanks for sharing tommi
Wow, the biggest is my favorite. I really like this style. Some woods are so soft they are difficult sand smooth, and in those cases painting and distressing makes a great finish. I love the style. The shape of the big ones is lovely. So apparently you can apply oil on top of the milk paint? How well do these tolerate moisture? I think the smaller ones look like hanging pots for flowers. You can put a pot inside the decorative pot, put even though you might have spills and leaks when watering. The painted style would look great as a table lamp too. Great job!
Thank you very much 🤗 there are numberous of applycation, its sort of preferable to seal milk paint, I use tung oil blend with cytrus solvent, so penetrates more.... Its excellent once dry as I have several bowls that I wash everyday and its like new..... its very hard wearing paint and no chemicals in it....

Grgur
Thank you Grgur.... you have name from this part of Europe (balkan)😀
These look great. Am I correct in thinking you applied 3 layers of paint before sanding back?
Thanks ☺️, you are correct,on one I think I put 4 but the rest is 3....
G’day tommi.
Was the timber wet when turned. What timber is it. Nicely spalted.
Did you add a brown paint to some bowls first.
It was wet ash , really nice stuff
I quite like them.
How dry was the wood before you applied the milk paint?
Thank you, it was few times in microwave and then a week or so drying regulary.... so the paint goes on dry bowl

Wish I had a bandsaw like that one! I have to do my rounding with a chainsaw.
Bandsaw is nice to have but not essential, I have done bowl blanks and even thin pieces with chainsaw for years..... I only have bandsaw from decembar....

love your channel. Was that wood wet or dry?
Thank you Amy, it was green/wet wood.... but its turned thinner so it dries quite fast
