*UPDATE - Since this time, the karts are now on a new tune and tyres, I have beaten this time and am now on a 54.818
This is the fastest lap set on these type of tyres that have been on the karts since April last year. The outright record is only a few tenths ahead on different tyres.
This was my 2nd time in these karts, but first time in the dry, last time was a couple years ago in soaking conditions with uni mates. Trying to get used to the track again coupled with a completely different type of kart (so a different feel, setup etc) was fun, and I enjoyed trying to adapt as fast as possible. I think I found the fastest way to take the track for my style and preference.
This lap was set in high heat (27 degrees) so a big surprise to achieve such a time considering the track was nowhere near at lap record pace. This lap was very close to perfection up until the last hairpin, where a small mistake cost at least half a tenth, but probably more.

This really is a good lap Dante, I don't think many people thought you could break the 55's on this compound, so to go into the 54's is awesome.

Isn't a hot track more ideal for grip?
Hot track can make the tyres too sticky and cause hopping too. But most importantly it effects the engine performance, less chance for it to breathe, more bogging
Nice lap mate. You lost a little with bouncing on the top of the hill, probably cost you a second or so
I don't know which bouncing you are referring to, there was definitely no mistake on this lap that cost a second, maybe 0.2 tops at the last corner
