Thanks for sharing these! Seem like great brands and great value too, which is what I'm after. I personally would recommend Granqvist as well. High quality natural materials, including interlining which is either wool or cotton/wool mix. And handrolled edges. And all handmade in Italy.
Except for staples like a navy grenadine, which is hard to get pre-owned for a decent price, I got basically all my ties via eBay. It's a great feeling to give a well made tie by Kiton or Drake's a second life - at a fraction of the original cost. As for hidden gems: I really enjoy my woolen ties by façonnable and my dark brown knit tie by Stefano Ricci (heavily overpriced at retail, but for 30€ a steal!) PS.: Wie zum Kuckuck hast du so rasch die Bekanntschaft mit den Jacomets gemacht?! :D Hugo scheint ein feiner Kerl zu sein und Sonya außerordentlich charmant. Bemerkenswert!
Yeah, buying vintage is awesome when it comes to neck ties because there is basically no sizing issue. I will take a look at the hidden gems you mentioned, thanks! :-) Hugo und Sonya sind wirklich toll, es macht immer Spaß mit den beiden. Ich hab einige der Sartorial Talks-Videos zusammen mit Kosmas produziert und teilweise auch geschnitten, daher kennen wir uns. :-)
The prices are great indeed! I have never tried them, but I think for the price you can't really go wrong. Just try it out and if you like it - buy more. ;-)
I find Poszetka designs a little bland, Austro-Hungarian, I love Viola Milano, they have the best designs on the planet. Hugo Jacomet recommends Urban Ties from Romania. Shibumi isn't bad, either nor is that Japanese guy running an Italian tie brand, 7-fold
