Dollar tree has those little flowers, look in the nail polish section, that’s where I found mine. They are to put on acrylic nails.

What is Happy Mail?
Sorry Ruth - this reply got lost in the shuffle. Happy Mail is just a term for sending unsolicited bits and bobs in the mail like die cuts, ribbons, paper, etc. Some of my followers send me things and I like to refer to that as Happy Mail.

Hi Marcella - I'm glad you're here! There is a lot of content already on the channel if you have time or interest to backwatch...
I have all my card bases & most of my standard layering pcs cut at Office Depot. I have full pkgs of bases split in half. 125 cut@ 5.5” 125 cut the other way @ 4.25”. They only charge $1 per cut. So $2 for 500 cards. Same thing for layering mats & stamping mats. I request to save the scrap on those pcs & end up w/perfect strips I use for saying strips, mounting strips. Many quick printers, office supply stores will do this very cheaply. Not a lot of $$ and they’re always perfect. My store will often save me other people’s scraps also. I like to bring them in 12 cards nicely boxed & remind them if they get any cutting orders of card stock w/nice scrap leftover I would appreciate it. I also like to bring them in yummy treats too!!
I am thrilled you have success with this! I tried 3 times to have mine cut that way and was not happy with the results at all. I ended up wasting cardstock, so now I just cut my own. You are correct that it was not expensive at all, I just couldn't ever get a good cut at the shop I have available to me. Love that you have made a network there!! Go Girl!!

Hi there Julia, well, I missed you, but now I am happy as I have had my SSS fix for the week!
These cards are so simple yet so beautiful. You are so right these cards would be perfect for beginners, but not to be dismissed by the seasoned card maker as well. I was so delighted to see your choice of papers as I have a plethora of ink drop paper pads in my stash, and they are begging to be used.
I was impressed with your deckle edge ruler and the torn effect that it left on the paper... that is something that the TH deckle trimmer cannot do. I have located a Creative Expression DER at one of my favourite online craft stores here in Australia, so the next time I place an order I will add the DER. I only need the one, but I notice in the set you have there are five rulers... ohhhh too much choice! Julia, have you used the other ruler edges in your paper craft, or do you stick to the same deckle edge?

Hi Gloria - I mainly use that specific ruler. It works so well, I am challenged to use any of the others. Perhaps in a future video??!! You know actually I find that paper very challenging to use, because it really likes to be the star of the show. Coming up with a card to use it as the main attraction presents an unusual challenge to me. I know that seems odd. Plus I just think it is so lovely I hate to use it up. Possible paper tearing solutions for you. It does take a bit of practice for either solution.
If you put the small strip to be torn off under your ruler, hold down firmly on the ruler, then slowly tear the large part away. If you want the white torn portion to show on your larger piece, make a small mark at the top where you want to tear,flip the paper over and align your ruler to the mark and tear. Be sure to hold your ruler down firmly over the smaller piece of paper as you tear. This method does require more pressure than normal.
Another possible solution is to use your normal method but take a water brush and apply water along the edge of the ruler on the smaller edge so it is damp but not soaking, then tear the small piece away.

Thanks Morgaine - I just showed the water tear on a video recently - it works really well. I will have to try the ruler tear method over a torn piece. As I understand you, the torn piece acts as a guide and the ruler pressure makes the guide piece stiffer. Is that right? Thank you so much for sharing!!!
@@SeniorSusieStamps I don’t think I have made it that far on watching past videos on your channel but will get there eventually. My apologies for confusing things.
I was trying to explain how you could tear away difficult smaller pieces or strips of paper a bit easier without water to get the torn effect. I am right handed so I hold down the ruler with my right hand then tear the paper away on the left side of the ruler. It looks like you do the opposite, hold the ruler with your left hand then tear from the right. The usual way we tear paper doesn’t work well with tearing small strips of paper away from the larger. To make it easier to tear smaller pieces turn the paper around 180 degrees so the smaller piece of paper is held down under the ruler firmly then tear the larger piece of paper away from the smaller piece.
Tearing paper upwards or away from the other half exposes the paper core on the back side of the paper piece you are tearing upwards. Tear the paper downwards leaves the core exposed on the top portion. The opposite or reverse is seen on the other half of the paper.
Depending if you want the core to show and on which half, you may need to flip the paper over to the reverse side to tear it. In my example above, I would want the paper core to show on the larger half of the paper I will use on the card. I would flip the paper over to the opposite side of the pattern I am not using, place the small strip of paper I want rid of underneath the ruler, then tear the larger paper half upwards. When I flip the piece over once more to the pattern I am using you will see the lovely jagged edges and the exposed core. More than likely I would ink the exposed core depending on color of the paper core and the project.
I know clear as mud. Written communication is difficult at times.
