He just did an interview with sway and he asked him why he writes like that. His answer? 2 reasons. Number 1, if anyone else comes across it they won't be able to decipher the puzzle and steal bars. Number 2, when he thinks of something he needs to write it down asap and it doesnt matter where. It's not weird if he can understand it and clearly he can. Cinemasins does this shit all the time. They purposely leave out context, dialogue, scenes etc that clearly show they're making shit up for the sake of forcing a "sin" that doesn't actually exist and y'all are just cool with that kind of bullshit.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with this movie. It is one of the few films I would consider perfect.

It's a fairly realistic movie. But he does have a point that the movie is more interested in placing characters in specific situations than plot development.
That certainly could have been done much better... As much as I like 8 Mile, it contains a lot of mindless location switching.

but seriously, Detroit is garbage. Also, 8 Mile is a reference to the street he lived on, and the street is named 8 mile because it is 8 miles from Detroit. I lived just off of 14 mile, 7 mile, and just off of 15 mile when I was in Michigan

This film has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Interesting fun fact is that the entire film is one week in his life. And they do an excellent job showing each day. Theres no message on the screen saying what day it is, just the characters interactions. I know its a bad film overall, but i just loved that concept. You are literally in his shoes for one entire week. No breaks.
