I literally just asked on one of your previous polygel videos if you think builder gel could be used over top polygel and then randomly I stumble across this video where you're showing that very method! You're so awesome!
So you extend with poly then build with hard gel?? If so what brand do you use? I'm debating on trying this as builder gel is so hard when doing a full set 😭
I have done this before using both poly & gel but did mine the opposite starting with the nail bed then forming the tip. It turned out ok but I like the way you did yours. It looks a lot easier to make an apex . Thank you Denise!
I like this idea. It could add strength for polygel if ppl who are hard on them have an issue breaking them. I have the ugly duckling brand and love working with it. I quickly found out a little goes a long way. You also don’t need a lot of solution with the brand. The only problem is I don’t feel like their clear is clear enough to do any type of designs that would involve a clear nail. So I’m interested in this brand you’re working with. It looks really clear!
It’s very nice to work with . They even have 30 gram tubes . I bought 2 more tubes recently so I’m stocked up . I have to put the link in . You can order off their website and use my code or their store on aliexpress . But on aliexpress you can’t use my code . Yayoge.com
I got the yayoge poly gel kit came with a Uv light, poly gel, slip solution, dual forms and the brush for $15 from Wish, they have different sets. I love it.
Nobody's ever made Me wanna buy anythimg off YT, but you got me wanting & needing this polygel 👍 😊 C curve was amazing 😍 Also I want that rubber tip tool! 🤤
Very informative video Denise, I like this polygel I’ve used it before in clear I like how transparent it is after filing and buffing it, I really love how you shape your nails they are so beautiful and always look fresh, I like the brush with the liner brush at the other end this would make a great gel infill brush, I didn’t realise star nails were in business still? I used to buy star nails products back in 1995 when I passed my training their products really are good they had great gels, acrylic powders & monomers, I don’t see their items because I don’t get time to go to the wholesalers no more I buy online now to save time, I’ll be sure to get that starlite clear gel I know it will be great because I’ve never been disappointed with star nails products, awesome video Denise your nails look so bomb I love the shape, wishing you a wonderful weekend hun🌹🌷🌼🌸💐🌺🌾🥀
They look great. I will have to remember what you did. I'll have to use dual forms though. I don't have the paper and wouldn't really know how to use them. I've watched videos on putting them on but don't feel comfortable trying it. I don't know how they should feel under the nails. Have a great weekend Denise. xxx 💗😊💗
Hi Denise I want you to know I do my own nails all based on your videos I learned & ordered from Star Nails Intn’l . I will now order the poly gel that you use. Love your tutorials...
@DeniseJohn -Nail Ed Hi Denise 😀 Excellent video!! I really like this method!! I have used the two together , a lot actually, but for refilling w/Builder gel! This is a great technique you show here!! Ooh & that brush is super nice!! Tyfs they look gorgeous! Quick quest. Is the Builder gel a File off , or soak off ? I couldn't remember. TY so much 💕 XOXO
Thanks Janeen . Hope you are well ❤️ Yes , I love the brush so much . I put a link in the description box for the brush . I think it’s the same as mine and at a cheaper price . I’m going to order a few and compare them . The Star Nails Gel is a file off .
Thanks☺ I'm doing my nails tonight and I I was debating on whether to do polygel with forms polygel dual forms hard gel with dual forms. I've decided to do polygel halfway on the nail with dual forms and Orly builder in a bottle for the rest. Your videos are great very creative and informative keep making them.
Love this video will definitely have to try this technique, could you post a link to the gel brush when you get a chance? Also is the yayoge polygel brush any good for polygel? Also what is that amazing little tool you used to clean up the excess gel around the side walls and cuticle area?! I need one
Yes the Yayoge polygel brush is as good as others . I put all the links in now for you . Here is a video on the rubber cuticle cleaning tool I used . What's that TOOL ??? -----Cuticle Cleaner-----GUM STIMULATOR for GELS----(Giveaway ENDED !)ruclips.net/video/UyML6U13CGw/видео.html
Hey Denise, In your opinion when building a nail with a dual form and polygel would you recommend placement up to the cuticle or about a tenth of an inch away and then just going over the cuticle Zone with a builder gel? Also what kind of Star builder gel do you recommend for best claritythe thick or regular clear? Is the thick builder gel the kind that you mentioned that doesn't cause heat spikes and is not as clear?
I would only go about a tenth away and use builder . Only the Cuccio Pro T3 cool cure is non heat spike . Cuccio is a company owned by Star Nails . Both the regular Sculpting gel and the thick sculpting gel will cause heat spikes. You just have to know how to cure your nails in the lamp and be careful And especially use a low heat mode
I was wondering why my tips don't stay on when i glue them down? Also, gel polish always peels off of acrylic extensions and builder gel extensions. Can you just do like a few quick refresher courses? You have always been so helpful. I am new at all this and just when i think i have got every step down, i always eff it up and that is so frustrating.
Your gel polish peels off the acrylic and hard gel possibly because when you are doing the filing you are polishing so much creating too much of a shiny surface . Gel polish will not stick to shine. You need to use a fine sanding band to etch and create something for the gel to grab on to. What you can do also is add Young nails protein bond before you apply the gel polish. This product is a lifesaver.
Same for your tips. You possibly are not roughing up the natural nail good enough. Or you have not applied the glue properly and there are air pockets.Tips could be too small or too big for your natural nails. Maybe you didn't cleanse well. Tips are glued to a cleansed nail. Only then do you dehydrate and prime and base coat. There are many reasons you are failing.Hth you!
Yes , Mich Pool is correct . Give her suggestions a try . If that don’t work for your glue on tips , it’s time to start learning to sculpt with a form . With Yayoge polygel it will be easy too !
Same thing happens to me. I learned to put my hand in the lamp and then back out of the lamp a few times. In and out in and out... When you don't feel the heat spike anymore do a full cure.
Denise I love your videos...they are always so helpful...I wanted to use your coupon code...but it’s kind of glowing and unreadable...can you please add it to your comments? I’m just a newbie at home trying to learn a few things and your videos are always helpful...thank you
Yes , the links get old and they shut them down after a while . It’s really hard to keep links current and up to date because I have over a 1000 videos . Perhaps you can search it .
Hahaha really ? I guess you never made videos . I take my time for videos to show everyone how to sculpt . It’s done Intentionally , on purpose. I also prefer polygel that is firm in texture. Not a soft stringy poly gel. Polygel is not meant to be soft , stringy and stretchy. I have many , many brands of polygel in all different price ranges . From 4.00 tubes to 34.00 dollar tubes . A more expensive price of polygel does not make it better quality , trust me I know .
I literally just asked on one of your previous polygel videos if you think builder gel could be used over top polygel and then randomly I stumble across this video where you're showing that very method! You're so awesome!
I was going to give you this link but forget . Glad you found it . ❤️
Do you have videos of how to remove builder gel? My natural nails have taken a lot of abuse. 😢
Thanks for this video! You’re the first that I’ve seen to use poly and builder gel. I love poly gel for extensions and builder gel near the cuticle.
So you extend with poly then build with hard gel?? If so what brand do you use? I'm debating on trying this as builder gel is so hard when doing a full set 😭

Hi this is interesting. Could i use the buildergel as the base for the extension and then apply the Polygel on top?
Yep , you can do that too .

Great set😻 can u show us (someday) how to scult "almondetto"( or pointed almond) nails?
Sure ... thanks for watching .
Thanks for share with Us ur work!
Nice so you are using this in place of a thicker hard gel base fore structure? I don’t think I love poly gel and have a bunch.. may try this!
Yes , you are correct . Try it out .
So when you go to put a design on top of these, do you use a base coat, or do any extra buffing for adhesion?
If you are using gel polish you will need a base coat
@@Denisejohn65NailEd Could you explain why a base coat would be needed??? Or maybe thats a typo???

@@Denisejohn65NailEd Awesome thanks again, I haven't been well, but slowly trying to get back to my normal, thank you for asking 🥰💕
Did you put those under the light between layers? And what is the watt size?
Oh yes ... you must cure each layer . Wattage of lamps should be 36 or more watts and have at least 24 lights or more . Use a dual lamp .
With a low heat low on it .
Wow what a great idea..I hate using tips as the glue really runs my nails..thanks
Yes , blue is awful and the tips eventually lift off the nail .
Is the star gel clear used thick or regular? Is thick just as clear as regular?
This one is regular sculpting gel , not the thick .

Is the thick sculpting gel the one that isn't quite as clear?
Is there a reason that you don't use dual forms when doing poly's
No , you don’t have to use dual forms with polygel . Polygel and regular paper forms came first .

I wish that we could watch the filling too.
I'm mad bc they dont ship to AZ. Gotta get it from amazon, but their site has a lot of sales. Oh well.
Why does my ipd builder gel burn under the lamp after 2s???? How do I prevent this?
You need a low heat mode on your lamp .
Same thing happens to me. I learned to put my hand in the lamp and then back out of the lamp a few times. In and out in and out... When you don't feel the heat spike anymore do a full cure.
Why do we pinch?
It’s gives a beautiful c curve and so the nail won’t appear flat

What brand builder gel did you use?
I always use Star Nails International builder gels .
Great lesson. Thank you! I can’t wait for other shapes. I might enjoy poly gel now. Do you have a link to where to buy that polygel and that brush?
Yes I put a link to the brush . It’s very similar to mine and I just ordered 2 to compare them .
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed thanks. Just ordered the polygel and polygel brush.
I weirdly want just clear nails.
Get some ! They are amazing 😻
What's the purpose of pinching?
It makes the c curve tighter , therefore the nail will be stronger .
@@Denisejohn65NailEd wow thank you for responding I appreciate it. I've seen this technique for years and never knew why it was used.

You take a lot of time to sculpt a tip and the polygel honestly looks cheap. A good polygel shouldn't take so much time to make a tip with.
