I see a lot of people complaining there's no screen. Honestly for me that doesn't bother me, if anything its one less thing to worry about that could potentially break. But I also see the benefits of it. That being said, I'll finally get into the Kemper world once these are in stock haha. To me its the perfect size for a pedalboard.
Balanced and thoughtful review, my man. Im using this as a somewhat affordable entry into the Kemper sphere. I dont use many effects, so it should do just fine for me. Valid points nonetheless. Thanks big boy
Thank you for your review. No screen, no expression pedal, and no effects loop = no purchase. Of course, the Rig Manager is great, but just impossible on stage, where you need to focus on your playing
Also agreed here! I haven't had a chance to play through a fractal rig yet but have heard amazing things (and have heard amazing things on YT) about them! I'd say QC is probably up there for amp feel as well!
I'm a straight up rock and roll guy in an Eagles Tribute band, so I don't need much in the way of effects. I don't need to download profiles at gigs, so that's not a problem. And the additional usb midi footswitch capabilities solve the limited footswitching issues. So the Player works for me.
it's more expensive than most of its competitors, but it is made in GERMANY ! it's like complaining that a Duesenberg guitar is more expensive than a Cort !
I’m not buying it either. The lack of a screen is a deal breaker also, in comparison to an hx stomp. Fooling with the Kemper app on a gig is hard- my phone often disconnects from the app and takes a while to sync back up Also, I get annoyed with how the app doesn’t tell you which preset that you chose, necessarily
Well If I owned a Helix I wouldn't buy a Stomp either. However I agree on the price, ESPECIALLY, with rumors about the unit being totally capable of a full Kemper signal path but that might be behind a paywall. The thing with the stomp is that there is absolutely nothing else, NOTHING, at its price point that does such a wide variety of modeling and very flexible wet effects.
So do I! Stomp on my pedalboard with pedals, and also have a helix. Mostly use helix when I’m the only EG AND songs have a variety of parts that need played seamlessly (thanks snapshots). Pedalboard for when I’m a second EG or the songs are pretty standard in their tones.
I definitely could be but I also think it’s just such a stripped back version of the Kemper that it really takes away a lot of the value for Kemper products. Compared to what else is available on the market for a similar size, package, features, etc. it doesn’t feel worth it to me personally. However- totally get how for others this could be the perfect unit because that’s exactly what they need!
Bro lol sorry but this should be OBVIOUS... its a stomp version of the stage or profiler, if you have the better versions of kemper, this should be obvious for you to do not buy the player one

Totally agree. Feels like this should have come out before the stage

Awesome dude! You’ll love it then!
You can get a display for it now and more switches
Yes...no display...no sale. I need to see what the buttons are doing.

On paper, the hx stomp definitely is the better product. However, helix sounds are so far behind kemper and fractal as far as the amps+cabs go, IMO.
Agreed! I own all of them, and Kemper has the cleanest, best, smoothest gaining amps and cabs of all of them. There is no comparison, really…

Nice man! Ya - I think there is a world where it works for some!
Also - the nice thing about the Player is you still get the AWESOME Kemper sounds so it'll be perfect for what you're looking for

Fair point! I've never had reliability issues with my Kemper and the actual hardware is amazing on the head and stage I've owned!

Yup - that was my feeling as well. App is a good accessory and fun to have as a tool but not something I want to depend on for use
Rig Manager is used as a screen…ideal for home recording.

I own the Helix LT and Stomp! Love both for difference reasons!

I always find it funny when people compare the Kemper to an HX Stomp, as if it stacks up. The HX stomp sounds awful!
I'm able to get great tones out of my Kemper, Helix LT, and Stomp! Just different tools for different applications
It kinda seems like buddy is missing the point of the design.

I'd you don't own one then don't do a video.
He's saying why he's NOT getting one. Why would he buy it to tell you he's not getting it??
You could just not watch too. He didn’t deceive you into thinking he did buy one.
Ugh another channel where the well-meaning host suffers from RUclipsr voice. Stop reading your script word for word!
Honestly I appreciate the feedback! I have a cold so that may be some of it but definitely will work on it!
@@ZachBrobstMusicnah, you did well. Love your videos ❤
