    Captain STD is a crazy name

      ...but not as strange as the "Mvave Chocolate" midi control pedal. Who on earth comes up with these names?😁

    Great video. I wish I'd seen it before I'd ordered. That issue around a preset change requiring the CC pedals to be reset is an absolute howler

    Tour gig setup is smart, pretty much all that's needed.
    One question.
    Can any button configuration on either the KPP itself or on the midi Captain turn on and off each of the 4 FX individually?

      @SLATEB0Y  12 дней назад

      I'm certain you can do that control with the midi-captain as you can assign multiple midi commands to one button. Just need to know what the midi command data is.
      I think the player (like the remote for the bigger units) you can turn on/off up to two FX. Dont quote me- jump on the forums for a more educated answer. i might be wrong....

    Was the firmware update process quick/easy? The documentation looks convoluted and there are plenty of people who claim it "bricked/broke" the hardware (completely now useless piece of junk). Can you offer any thoughts on this?

      All i can report is that i followed the guide given and it updated ok. Took around 10 minutes (and ive updated twice so far) Its a case of deleting most (not all- we're told to keep the "license" folder intact) of the files on the device and pasting in the new ones, simply a drag-n-drop task as the device appears as an attached external drive.
      As suggested, make a back-up of the files that come with the device before you do anything else. I used windows 10 so cant comment on the mac.

      I haven't done any updating, so can't comment from that point of view. But I did find a document on the PaintAudio website called "MIDI_Captain_Serials_Recovery" which is purportedly info for recovery of a bricked unit. I haven't used the document, so I can't say how effective it is or isn't.

    What is the midi for the +3db Boost Rig

    • @SLATEB0Y
      @SLATEB0Y  4 месяца назад

      Note this does not boost the value by +3dB but rather sets the rig-volume value to +3dB therefore the amount of change will be dependant on the initial value. Mine are stored as 0dB by default so there is a +3dB change
      To set rig volume to +3dB, you will need to send NRPN parameter 513 to value of 10255.
      This can be achieves with these midi CC commands;
      CC99=4 CC98=1 CC6=80 CC38=0
      if you want to set rig-volume to 0dB send this midi data:
      CC99=4 CC98=1 CC6=64 CC38=0

    Would Kemper’s own controller work?

    • @SLATEB0Y
      @SLATEB0Y  4 месяца назад

      Not to my knowledge. The Kemper remote uses an ethernet connection which the player does not have. A standard midi controller would be the option with the addition of a USB-to-MIDI adapter, like this: ruclips.net/video/BVFuOkYalKA/видео.htmlsi=r8vKutExvhm70eRj&t=303

      @@SLATEB0Y
      Kemper could easily do a mod to the current Remote either inside the unit or an external "box" that converts that ethernet to midi USB....I think..🙂
      But judging by their disastrous marketing fail on the paid upgrade release one wonders if they're thinking straight right now.
      I'm not complaining about the paid upgrade...except it should be closer to half the price.
      But, before announcing the paid uograde firmware they should have FIRST given current Player owners something for free considering they've been waiting ten months.
      Something, anything, like one extra FX slot, or maybe just morphing....which would have got Player owners celebrating.
      THEN two days later announced the paid upgrades and you wouldn't have created a social media shitstorm of negativity.

      @@guitartoneSA that i dont know. I figure if you're going that far you may as well own the stage unit. I wouldnt want to fly with my remote+player. Maybe some clever person can make a device. Personally i think the whole point is to be as small/compact as possible
