FROM KEMPER:
KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER - THE LITTLE GREEN BEAST PREMIUM PEDAL
KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER - THE LEGACY AND THE NEXT INCARNATION OF THE PROFILER PLATFORM
The KEMPER PROFILER has changed the world of guitar tone significantly. The acclaimed KEMPER PROFILING technology and the brand-new Liquid Profiles provide the best amp tones anytime and anywhere possible - offering consistent accuracy and also a convenient package for touring, traveling, and studio use.
The KEMPER PROFILER Player is the latest and the most complete serving of professional amp tones and studio-grade FX per footprint. Requiring only the floorboard space of two standard distortion pedals the PROFILER Player turns any pedal board into an arena-grade touring rig. And, what’s more, the Player indeed itself is already the arena-grade touring rig that fits in every guitar bag. It offers the full arsenal of KEMPER amp tones (yes, the Amp section of the Player sounds identical to the amp section of its famous Big Brothers - it loads any amp PROFILE from the vast library of existing free and commercial PROFILEs), selected FX settings, IR loading, and switching capabilities - at home, in the studio, in the rehearsal room, and on stage.
MADE IN GERMANY: THE LITTLE GREEN MONSTER, THE SON OF A PROFILER, THE KEMPER PROFILER PLAYER, PREMIUM PEDAL - CONCEPT AND FEATURES
At first glance, the PROFILER Player is an easy-access guitar amp with familiar classic controls, where you can store your precious amp channel settings.
The amp section of the Player sounds identical to the amp section of its famous Big Brothers. It loads any amp PROFILE from the vast library of existing free and commercial PROFILEs out there.
Rigs from the big PROFILERs are fully compatible within the limits of the Player’s 4 FX slots.
If you want to dig deeper and access every single effect setting, the Rig Manager remote app connects to the Player through USB or WLAN on a platform of your choice.
Connect your phone to the Player by Bluetooth to play along your guitar licks to Spotify.
At home the Player is the perfect rehearsal amp, on stage, it is a self-contained KEMPER PROFILER.
Turn the PROFILER Player into a combo amp by connecting one or two KEMPER Power Kabinets.
The Player is reduced to the max and therefore also a match for bass players and acoustic guitarists. Also, keyboard players will enjoy the leading tube amp PROFILEs and studio-grade effects to spice up their sounds.
Expand the live control capabilities simply by adding expression pedals or additional foot-switches. MIDI via USB - Supports typical USB2MIDI cables
Four effect blocks elevate the Player to a professional stand-alone live solution.
The PROFILER Player offers a selection of some the finest effects in the world. As a company, KEMPER is also responsible for creating the ACCESS™ VIRUS™, one of the most successful synthesizers of all time. Nearly 25 years of experience.
Along with the standard effects, you will find algorithms rarely seen in a guitar processor - these include an authentic rotary speaker and studio-grade reverbs, offering amazing rooms, large halls, even lush, pad-like ambiences and many more.
The Player’s signal chain comprises 4 effect modules in addition to the amplifier stack. Up to two effects can be placed "pre" the amp stack, and another two "post" the amp. The post-amp modules of the effect chain are ideal for delay and reverb effects. Both delay and reverb offer "spillover"at any time, meaning the sonic tail is not cut off when you change to another Rig.
The Player offers a massive, well-curated selection of 136 different FX settings taken from the legendary KEMPER PROFILER FX arsenal that features over 444 FX presets in total.

pardon if the comment is not relevant. Wanted to compare the profiler and player
I appreciate you doing that, thanks for watching!
I've been playing 40 years, and now all I need is my guitars MacBook,Focusrite Scarlett, and my neural dsp plug ins.
Some people are saying it's too pricey, but I think Kemper have pitched it just about perfectly. I'm certainly interested, but it's an answer to a problem that I don't currently have - i.e. I've got a neat little lightweight valve combo rig that does all I want (and then some). But who knows what my future needs may be? I'll definitely keep this in mind as a high quality option. Thanks for the review/demo. 👍
Since the Kemper Player has bluetooth inside, it would be interesting to see if control pedals like AIRStep will support it in future firmware upgrade.
Thanks for posting. This unit is a big step forward for Kemper. I think they can and will improve it as time goes on.
I’m a fractal user but think I’m going to grab one of these as well. Excellent video. Amazing tones bro. Keep it up.
Hello! excellent video! What would be the difference with the other Kemper models? Can the other presets be run on this unit? sounds Awesome!
Watching with my 4month old baby. My baby jumped in shock when you played. The audio was quite louder than your speaking voice 😂.
Sold my kemper Lunchbox many years ago... But i have lots of profiles. Looks like a good solution if i want to reuse those profiles again.
Thank you for the overview! Do you think the Kemper Player makes sense for me if I don't own any other Kemper product? I get that I will be limited to existing profiles, but I guess the 20k+ profile library will yield a ton of very good sounds....All I want is a small formfactor portable rig with a palette of good baseline amp-sound and some basic effects 🙂
For what you're describing it's a great choice! It's in stock: www.zzounds.com/a--3979398/item--KEMPROFILERPLYER?siid=346787
@@PlayandTradeGuitars thanks for answering. I will give it a try!
I’m just starting out & don’t play live & don’t have a studio.
Is this a good start for an Amp effects setup & if yes do I need a power amp & FRFR speaker for home?
Also can I plug headphones into it as a practice amp?
Be gentle I am a newbie at this 😁👍
Hello! Kemper player owner here.
1. It's a great start for amps and effects, it comes with a bunch of good ones you can add, but you're limited to 4 effects when building your own profiles. However, when you download or use other profiles from the big brothers you can use all of the effects.
2. It takes pedals like a tube amp so you can also use pedals.
4. It has a headphone jack, an XLR output, and two 1/4" stereo outputs. Lots of people use theirs with only headphones! It's super cool.
Who knew zoom had it right with the 505! Form factor wise
I would take one XLR mono over no XLR, this pedal looks promising
Totally agree, thanks!
strongly disagree. A TRS to XLR solves that problem for any balanced output (like an HX stomp). This pedal is just a worse HX stomp imo. Mostly based on the few effects (4) and the only mono out.
@@sethtincopa1912 If you ignore the fact that the the amp sounds out of the stomp are laughable compared to the best Kemper profiles. People will by these to replace their amps, not an all in one FX pedal.
@@nickaslanidis6156 kemper is great, not this mono junk
I wonder if they will update the firmware capability to import rigs onto the player via thumbdrive
Finally! Been waiting for someone to review this little beast! Nice video mate!
Can I plug this into my stage amp and use it as a preamp/modeler? I used to do that with my SansAmp. Would it work the same way?
I’ve wanted a Kemper ever since I first heard one I think this might finally be when I get one. Leave it on my pedalboard, and run it into a cab for stage volume
Thank u for the video, how come only 2 buttons for fx1 and fx2 while there are 4 fx?
Btw.
The L/R Monitor Out are TRS balanced...so no need for two XLR out.
Send that D-28 my way for Christmas I’ve always wanted a Martin :)
So GLAD I found your YT channel - quick question.... this doesn't run on TUBES does it?! - Great review and NOW I gotta have one!
Thank you! Profiling technology works by replicating the feel and response of tube amps, but it is by design tubeless. Tubes would add their own coloration to the Profile. I'm really enjoying the Player, and in my opinion, profiling is the best technology (compared to modeling technology) because it sounds the best i.e. most like a tube amp. Great tone out of the box
Thank you so much@@PlayandTradeGuitars - the sounds are AMAZING! Have you tried playing any of their Acoustic settings thru actual acoustic electric large body guitars - I have a McPherson 4.0XP - wondering how these would do for someone mostly playing acoustic electric ala "finger-stylistically" if you will... LOL!
Nice review/demo. I ordered one a few days ago. Looking forward to it.
Can you not send the monitor L & R or headphones out to the mixing desk so you hear the stereo effects through the PA as opposed to the mono signal through the XLR output?
Yes you can, you can also hear the stereo signal by simply connecting the Player directly to your computer with USB and using it as the interface.
Do you need TRS quarter inch jacks cable ideally to use the monitor out L & R into a mixing desk or possible TRS to XLR cable. I am only running cable of 1 metre
Great demo, super helpful. Thanks!
Kemper supports their products heavily so I’m excited to see how they evolve it with updates.
Great Demo and very nice playing 🤘😎
I want one. Love my Kemper.
Mine should be in this week. Should be fun, not sure how I'm going to use it. I gig with a Komet rig and pedalboard. For sure, it will be a backup amp for me. Great for rehearsals too. I'm also interested in the sounds of the Liquid Profiler.
Love my Power rack ,but this is on the way to me now!!Looking forward to this thing!great video
I would like to see high gain and humbucker based guitar. You have LP, show us how it chugs.
Coming up soon! An in-depth feature review and additional sounds, thanks for watching
Does the profiler player let you use the aftermarket rigs that were made for the stage/rack units, or would that not be possible because of the shortage of effects compared to the bigger models?
Lol the Kemper doesn't have effects!! It's an amp modeler. It's not a multi effects unit.
You can use all of the aftermarket amp profiles including liquid ones
@@anotheryoutubed what? It has reverbs, delays and others
@@anotheryoutubed It DOES have effects
@anotheryoutube4635 It has effects and you can run up to 8 at one time. There are videos on YT showing how to access and use the effects.
great demo! Looks like a winner for sure.
Absolutely awesome video, thank you for presenting and covering the Player on day one. I absolutely admire the product design of whoever does it at Kemper. Also, the product photos on their website get me in "buy now" territory. And then I remember how my lunchbox Kemper sounded and why I sold it some years ago...
So how did your Kemper sound?
Can you set the main 3 buttons as 3 different rigs? Like a jc40, friedman, and boogie all right there?
Great review - I have one on order. How is it with acoustics ?
I want this, but no effects loop is a no-go for me. And I need 3 effects on the back end on one on the front for most of my settings. It would be nice if there was more flexibility in the effects setup for pre-post.
Can this go into a powered speaker like kempers “ kabinet” for more head/cabinet setup?
I’m thinking I don’t like in ear I want a modler that can send to front of house and give a cabinet/monitor that’s a slave to the unit.
What speakers are you using for this video? If you gig this unit, what would you use for speakers?
When playing live it's direct to front of house, no speaker on stage. Thanks for watching!
@@PlayandTradeGuitars so at home you just use the studio monitors or headphones I guess.
It's soooo much smaller than the Fractal FM3! And basically has slots for everything I need. While technically being "less capable", probably more than enough for me to travel with..
Two questions: can you control this rig manager with an iPhone or iPad and not need to turn on a computer? Also do these buttons work as a looper? Why would anyone get a kemper head at this point if they don’t care to actually profile other amps
Great review
Can you use the 2 left and right outputs for stereo?
Great vid, can you just plug this straight into a cab or do you still need an amp for it
Still need a power amp or powered frfr cab like the Kabinet
In a live situation, can you send via the XLR output to the desk with cab sim on and feed a normal cab without the cab sim on via the other outputs at the time so on stage we can have that old school feeling of having a "reel " cab" behind you?
Yes. 👍
Does it have the morph function?
Nice review.
How does one call up performances? I’m so used to my Kemper Head/toaster, I’m comparing knobs and buttons. I also take it that liquid profiles will also work on this unit?
Thanks
Thanks for watching. It does not support Performance mode. It basically only supports the "Browse" mode of loading one rig at a time.
We need a screen on it. You dont wanna messed up while on gigs to find out what preset we are on.
This beats a Marshall cranked up every single day of the week. Every. Single. Day.
Nope
You can pretty much gig with just the Michael Britt 72 or 68 Plexi Profiles.
They did skimp out a bit on the IO, a TRS stereo loop would have been absolutely rad to connect something else like an H9/90. I don't think that's enough to be a deal breaker considering that we now have a way to take the Kemper ecosystem (which I LOVE) around with us in a gig bag.
Agreed, dual instrument level I/O would have done it for me. MIDI and Stereo TRS out would make it perfect.
I agree, the Two Notes Opus has the same issue.
SO can I just buy one of these, plug my guitar and current pedal board into it, plug in some headphones, and start playing? Or is this only functional as an accessory to the Kemper Profiler?? Please help
Yes you can. No it's not just an accessory. I play live with it as my "amp" at the end of the signal chain you described. Thanks for watching.
I have the Quad Cortex. Considered buying the QC Nano Cortex. It is far too complicated. Bought the Tonex. Same thing. Way to complicated to be actually useful. Hated it. Returned it. The Kemper looks like it's pretty straight forward. I will probably buy one.
Nice demo, but you seriously need to get the volume levels controlled between music and talking! :)
I wonder if it makes a better Deluxe sound compared to the Dream 65? That's about all I'm interested in. I really just need a good base sound and an on/off button.
I switched my Kemper for a Quad cortex about 6 months ago. Now I might have to get one of these aswell 😂
All set to buy a tube amp, and your review was so clear that I need this kemper ty
I love a tube amp too, but Kemper is truly amazing. I still play a lot with my Reverb Deluxe tube amp, but in any application with a good front of house system I go Kemper. Thanks for watching
Not sure if correct but I read that they are going to lock some advanced features behind a subscription paywall. That will suck but not surprising because everything is going to a subscription model now. I recently bought t-shirts and they were trying to push a t-shirt subscription! Who needs that? This subscription thing is out of control.
Am I able to put this through the front of house as well as a guitar cabinet at the same time for gigs? I know I’d need an external power amp as well. This is what I do when I gig with my kemper rack unit and I hope I would be able to do the same with this. Thanks!
Yea you can, thanks for watching!
Question: Where in the chain did you have the pedals? Before or after the Kemper?
Before, thanks for watching!
Kemper Believer
I want this
What output do you use..? Plug into fender super?
I use the XLR out, thanks for watching
Is it possible to run this profile player through my marshall combo amp? Basically using my combo amp to just power the speakers and let the profile player do the rest?
Probably not, you would want a powered speaker without any coloration from an amp circuit. Thanks for watching!
They really need to update the kemper gain structure, the gain sounds the same on every profile. Had one for 10 years almost wasn’t great and it wasn’t until I ditched it and got Axe-FX III I realised how bad it was and what I’ve been missing.
Stereo XLR out would make it hard to compete with!
with all the noise that comes in with gain - how are people using noise gates with these, just put a separate pedal in front?
Very beautiful device!! 🤩🤩🤩
Simple question: I have a Boss Katana and a Podgo is it worth me upgrading to this Kemper unit ?? Or will I require more gear to use it ? I'm on a budget and while this sounds and looks cool it's hard to know what gear is worth buying.
I love that it comes with 50 profiles because my podgo only came with 30 presets. And I've been building my own presets for fun
Do I require a new cabinet ? And all the other kemper gear too
I'd say you already have what you need
No midi?
I haven't watched all the way through, but if you don't have a Kemper to dump profiles from, how would you use this on an existing pedalboard? I'm at the 10 mins mark, so will resume to see if this is answered.
You don't need to own another Kemper. You will have access to the stock 50 profiles it comes with, AND the entire Rig Exchange / 3rd party Rig ecosystem of Kemper online. Thanks for watching
Thanks for responding. Yes, I saw that towards the end. This may be something I consider, as I really don't want to give up my pedalboard and could integrate the Kemper into it. I had a Helix at home for about a year and I just couldn't bond with it. At the end of the day, I'm just not a fan of menu driven devices.@@PlayandTradeGuitars
Can you not get 2 1/4 to xlr adapters and run out of the left and right 1/4 slots for stereo?
3:27 - you have also TS (unbalanced) Jack Stereo OUTPUT! Main out is if you use amp, but stereo outputs are used for FOH (if you need stereo) on live show and then you have stereo output.
Read manual first BEFORE you record video "FULL DEMO" :)
Sorry but I read the manual, and you have it backwards. Even in their promotional video, they label the XLR as front of house, and the stereo output as monitor out, for example if using powered cabs on stage. Thanks for watching
First video on you tube for this unit congrats
Thanks for watching!
Are you able to profile/capture rigs with the Player?
No you cannot profile, thanks!
@@PlayandTradeGuitars then I will definitely not be getting one! thanks!
I would personally take 2 stereo TRS outs over one mono XLR out. You can buy TRS - XLR cables for the same price as XLR cables.
I think you may need phantom power protection though, like with a DI-box.
Do you prefer this over headrush?
Very cool video. Does it have amp sounds in it or do you need a keeper unit to download amp tones to it ?
Doesn't profile...it's a "player". Most disappointed since it has no effects loop.
It comes with and can store up to 50 profiles.
@@callingorsen1an effects loop would kinda be pointless on this. It comes set up to use two effects before and two after the amp/cab stack. Any other effects you’d normally have before your amp you simply place before the Kemper. Any effects you’d normally put in the loop or after the amp would go after the Kemper. No effects loop necessary.
@@kevincondran8032 I see where you are with that; however, absent an effects loop, I don't think you can go direct from the XLR to the PA if you use mod effects, right? Kinda defeats the direcet-xlr to front of house.
@@callingorsen1 true. Hadn’t considered that.
Sounds like a Kemper :-) I really hope this does well. Normally matched with a Kemper Kone is magical. Did you say what speaker setup you have?
Thanks! I go direct to front of house, no cabinets on stage but Kemper Kone is awesome I agree. In studio I just run them through Yamaha HS-8
Does it come with rig manager?
The future is digital and those dinosaur tube amps will go to a museum along with their ownerz
Kemper really messed up on this one, no midi port, no fx loop but they put a usb port like it's 2015, no screen, charging for updates they already had years agol, this just makes the hx stomp seem even better
Well. The thing that kills the idea of buying it is that I can’t live with the idea adding a separate adapter to it. In the beginning of my fx and guitar playing i did the whole multiple adapters thing and for 700€ im not going to be doing it again. If it would be 9v and like 500mA i would probably get it. Also it has cooling vents underneath and im sure it would probably fine but velcroing it to my pedalboard would probably be less then optimal. Wrote to the Kemper customer support with questions about it but never got anything back. I can probably live without the stereo though although like cheaper units like Iridium do it. Kemper also advertised that they created the Access Virus synth under the Profile Player intro but what i gather they dropped support for it like year/years ago. I really wanted to like it and i was SOOOO close to ordering it but I just personally feel that they made a enough of mistakes with this and at this price point it makes more sense to just to save up and get the full Kemper floor unit or the toaster.
Can I use existing profiles I have in my Stage with the Player? What will happen to the effects if I use more than 4?
You can use any/all exisiting Profile. The limiting factor if you load a rig with more than 2 pre fx and 2 post fx, you will have to rework the effects for the Player. The profile of the amp itself is exactly the same. Thanks for watching
@@PlayandTradeGuitars thank you!!
If I could freely use four effects before or after the amplifier, I would buy it.
Brilliant demo. 👋👋👋
Thanks for watching!

What profile are you using for your "Main" rig? Did you make it yourself or do you have a seller that you would recommend.
Im Using a PRS with a pedalboard and i am looking for something similar to my Victory Duchess amp.
I highly recommend M. Britt profiles: mbritt.com/ Thanks for watching
IAC power and usb c would have been nice.
does it have a looper?
If i use a Kemper for home use, would there be any benefit to me trading out for this unit?
I recommend keeping a Kemper head/rack for home use and having this as a supplement or satellite. I will not sell my Rack because of this. For my use, I will use Player live and Rack in studio. Thanks for watching!
Are the presets good and usable??
Highly doubt it
why are the dates of those rigs (13:43) so recent? the pacheco morgan is really old and it says 12/11/23?
No effects loop? Am I wrong on this? Why would such a company who specialized in amp/cabs not put in an effects loop
They keeps it in mk2
Dude seriously. How did you get it already
Yes, how did you get it? Did you buy straight from Kemper? I pre-ordered it at Sweetwater and they said the shipment was "delayed" ugh, I am stoked for you though man!
