I have used my Kemper Player so far on one gig. Sounds great, but I somewhat struggled with the 3 buttons. Next I will pair it with a 4-button midi USB pedal. I also have successfully turned effects on / off with a normal 2-button amp switch. So, there is hope but its not just there to grasp it immediately. I would love to be able do omit most of my huge pedalboard in favor of this unit.
Great video and love the honesty you bring. I haven't tried any of the Kemper units so I can't give any opinion. But I will say look into Blackstar Amp Pedals, they're awesome.
its called a profile player not a profiler... I bought one with intent on being a backup all in one rig for my QC. It took me a couple weeks to feel like i could actually use it for that purpose. but i weighed other higher end options and having the built in effects were worth the extra price for me, my prefered rig would be this with some external pedals and that is how i intend to use it but i believe i will be happy with it to throw in the gig bag or backpack for a backup or travel. Without being a expert Line6 user I can dial in a sound here that i think is much better than with stomp or stompxl. I also bought one of those and will be returning it. I hope they add more effects and some added control, in the meantime a $30 midi pedal adds most of the functionality i was missing.
Without being pedantic, it's called 'Profiler Player', it's right there in all-caps on the Kemper website...BUT I'm glad you're digging it, and making the extra MIDI buttons work!
thanks - very interesting video. I use mine for 3 months now and still love it. I would recommend for users to add the kemper switch so that you have switches for the 5 sounds within one bank. Game changer will be when kemper will allow combo switching to add more switching capabilities. Tuner to me is very deceptive and not sufficient, I don't know how this works on other Kempers but not sufficient there... so still need to have a side tuner pedal. I personally use my ipad with it to navigate through the banks. One interesting feature would be to integrate into the ipad app a fancy tuner screen. Love all the rest. This is part of a pedalboard, probably not enough to be used standalone (cf. tuner and expression pedal in case you use an extra switch like me)
Kemper is a player, there are no bad sounds, bad profiles. A bedroom player with a 100 mic versus someone in a studio with a $15,000 mic will give you a better profile. That's why it's still around after over a decade. They recently merged modeling with profiles to create Liquid. Best of both worlds, like a guitar you need to master it. Everything being subjective, one thing is clear, playing transcends tones.

Thanks for the video, I am using my KPP for a month now, I even used it on the stage AND I TOTALLY AGREE WHEN YOU SAID YOU HATE THAT THERE IS NO POWER BUTTON. I mean cmon really? :D. Also I am hanging at their forum now new updates for some features and maybe more FXs but since now there is no offical things. Sure, there will be some updates I am sure about it but when and what is unkown now :(. So now I am searching for alernative solutions for more FXs like line6 HX effects maybe. But other than that great product, really love my profiles
Glad you like it too! Knowing Kemper, they've got a bunch of cool stuff up their sleeve. The fact they're STILL updating their first unit gives me high hopes for the player too!
