Daniel, you rock! Love your playing 👍🏼. I think you could make any pedal, etc... sound good. Great tones and a great little to the point review. God bless you!
I’m looking hard at one of these. My power plan would be to try the Mission engineering battery pack…possibly optimistic, but if I can get that working, it would be super rad to have the option of not needing an outlet.
Hey Jamie, yeah that could be really nice! I do think the player is a good compliment to those of us who already own a kemper too. I'm excited to put my pedalboard together with this on there
Sounds great, I like how it reacts on style of play - if you play soft, sounds is delicate, but if you hit harder you have a bit of distortion and roughness, nice! I like there is no screen. Maybe not totally functional, but I hate looking at this small screens in multieffects and trying to figure out how settings works.
You hit the nail on the head here. That's ALWAYS been the thing that I feel designates a good profile from a bad profile is if it reacts (almost overreacts) to playing dynamics. I've tried to emphasize this before by plugging DI boxes into the front end of the Kemper but really I think the impedance thing or whatever we're feeling on the new product is accomplishing that.
Considering this for playing live myself. Great video, thanks for the insight. Quick question - could you elaborate a bit on how you’re using the footswitches when you play live? Are you assigning a specific amp/rig to each switch or something else?
Honestly all that got a bit challenging. I ended up taking the Kemper Player off my board specifically, and now I use it when I need to use my pedalboard into an amp modeler. So for the most part I'm using specifically clean amps and then I rely on my pedals to get different tones.
@ interesting. Can I ask why? Genuinely trying to figure out if this is a smart move for me 😂 My buddy has a pretty loaded pedal board with tons of pedals so is a bit put off this for that reason. Whereas me personally, I just need 3 amp sounds for live - clean, crunch and heavy… and I need to be able to easily and seamlessly switch between them. If I can do that then I’m sold 😂
@@adamfiascoVEVO Yeah it just ended up being a matter of preference for me. the 3 amp sounds thing works for a friend of mine on his Axe FX too, for me though I found the lack of immediate information regarding what I was stepping on with the Kemper a little challenging. Plus it exists in a world where a lot is going on in my pedalboard too, with the strymon effects and such. So it just made more sense to just use it as a utility pedal at the end of the chain. I also have a Quad Cortex that I generally use for the simpler stuff now too
@ cool, thanks a lot for the info man, it’s much appreciated. Totally get where you’re coming from too. I think with my fairly simple needs for just 3 tones it seems like a good option - just so long as it’s easy to switch between them!
I’m shocked it does acoustic profiles as well as the amp profiles. What logical next step- “Let’s throw in a Fishman Aura Spectrum into this product.” I’m curious how the acoustic profiles compare. But man, that tone sounds very authentic and convincing. A screen would have been nice, but I suppose the functionality for the footprint is impressive. I am hopeful for a rig manager update.
Cody! Yes man the acoustic profiles are great. They are literally captures of a Fishman aura. But plus you can add useful things like reverbs and eqs into a small package. The tuner helps too lol
It is terrible. I buy just about everything that comes out to try. Been a kemper owner for about 5 years. This unit (the little one) offers you LESS than any other comparable on the market, and it’s way overpriced. No screen, no Fx loop, no capturing….no sale. I really feel, ultimately, this is going to bring down kemper, because they won’t move enough of these lacking units to make the bills. That’s how bad it is.
What are your first thoughts on the Kemper Player??
Thanks for the very balanced review!
hey man love your channel! Super wholesome and great vibes!! Keep it up

I think it sounds fantastic! When I buy it, I'll be finally be in the Kemper world lol. To me its just what I need, and the perfect size.
It is a perfect size! I unfortunately had to buy a new pedalboard to accommodate its length lol but hey... who doesn't need a bigger pedalboard lol

Great video! would love for you to show us how to turn on and off FX. Seems like you won't be able to do that in a live setting.
You can program them to the buttons I think

Clicking on the side might be for the way hot air from inside ?
What stand r you using on that table thanks
It's a collapsable laptop stand for DJs and such. I believe I got it off of amazon for cheap!

Lol nope. It's sold out all over the place. It's revitalised the Kemper brand. Not everyone has the same needs and wants as you.
