    Thanks so much for spending the time to do this… are any of the 6 profiles more on the clean side of the spectrum? Personally, I don’t like the breakup and that’s one of the hardest things to dial in with the digital modelers. (I have the Helix, Kemper, and Headrush), and I’m wanting that tone of the TwoRock or Dumble with little to no break up as a platform for drive pedals. Thanks again!

    If anyone is struggling to get their Strat's floating trem to stay in tune. I was the same, no amount of tinkering, trying different strings and lubrication would solve the constant tuning issues I had on one of my favourite Strat style guitars. Then, I discovered locking bridge saddles by Wilkinson. They aren't inexpensive for six small pieces of steel. But, my god, do they work. I can do anything I want with the bar now and it snaps straight back to being perfectly in tune. I was going to replace the whole bridge with a Vega trem, the Wilkinson saddles are far cheaper than that route.

    Considering this for playing live myself. Great video, thanks for the insight. Quick question - could you elaborate a bit on how you’re using the footswitches when you play live? Are you assigning a specific amp/rig to each switch or something else?

    • @DanMmusic
      @DanMmusic Месяц назад

      Honestly all that got a bit challenging. I ended up taking the Kemper Player off my board specifically, and now I use it when I need to use my pedalboard into an amp modeler. So for the most part I'm using specifically clean amps and then I rely on my pedals to get different tones.

    • @adamfiascoVEVO
      @adamfiascoVEVO Месяц назад

      @ interesting. Can I ask why? Genuinely trying to figure out if this is a smart move for me 😂 My buddy has a pretty loaded pedal board with tons of pedals so is a bit put off this for that reason. Whereas me personally, I just need 3 amp sounds for live - clean, crunch and heavy… and I need to be able to easily and seamlessly switch between them. If I can do that then I’m sold 😂

    • @DanMmusic
      @DanMmusic Месяц назад

      @@adamfiascoVEVO Yeah it just ended up being a matter of preference for me. the 3 amp sounds thing works for a friend of mine on his Axe FX too, for me though I found the lack of immediate information regarding what I was stepping on with the Kemper a little challenging. Plus it exists in a world where a lot is going on in my pedalboard too, with the strymon effects and such. So it just made more sense to just use it as a utility pedal at the end of the chain. I also have a Quad Cortex that I generally use for the simpler stuff now too

    • @adamfiascoVEVO
      @adamfiascoVEVO Месяц назад

      @ cool, thanks a lot for the info man, it’s much appreciated. Totally get where you’re coming from too. I think with my fairly simple needs for just 3 tones it seems like a good option - just so long as it’s easy to switch between them!

    @DanMmusic do you also have something like a Towner V block on there? I.e. a spacer at the B3 hinge plate, so the spring cup is a little further away from the stud of the tension bar? Apparently it's meant for Les Pauls, but I'm wondering if I need it for my 339 too

    Kemper was "killed" a long time ago. The helix line rivaled it and gave us cheaper options. The Tonex gave us the exact same technology with much more options at much cheaper prices. Now digital technology has allowed amp sims to sound close enough to tube amps, if not better sounding in some applications. Kemper and Line 6 are starting to fall behind by not releasing anything new other than smaller iterations of the helix and the pod..and Kemper with the disappointing player.

    I'm sure that no matter what type of guitar it is, It is unnecessary to bend the neck to achieve vibration effect. It added unwanted tension to the neck, resulted in change in neck relief. Also it puts unnecessary force on the neck unevenly, increase the risk of having a twisted neck. That's why there is trussrod to help stabilize the neck through climate change, and keeps it straight. One time a friend of mine came over and bend the neck of my Fender Customshop Strat, I thought that was so stupid, all he had to do was use the tremolo bridge. I will never forget that day ever.

  • @vw9659
    @vw9659 4 месяца назад

    Verheyen might be a great player but he obviously doesn't understand the simple physics of the strat trem. What he says is total physics nonsense. If string tension equalled spring tension, the bridge would be decked, hard. Look at the lever lengths of the strings and springs to the knife edge rotation axis. It's much longer for the springs. In order for the bridge to float, it's the TORQUE from the springs that must match the TORQUE from the strings. And to do that, spring tension must be much LOWER than string tension. His angled claw is also physics nonsense. You get exactly the same intervals whether the claw is angled or not. Because the trem has a single common axis shared by all the strings - the knife edge. Also, there is not typically less tension on the treble strings and more on the bass strings. He's wrong about that too. But it doesn't matter anyway. You get the intervals that the string stiffnesses and their individual lever arm lengths to the axis give you (affected by things like saddle heights). You can't change that by angling the claw. You would need a different trem design to do that. Just watch Frudua on youtube. Straightforward trem setup procedures without the nonsense physics.

I'm all about the DI captures because I'm an amp in the room kind of guy and I was trying to figure out the best way to go about this. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I'll be using a Jet attenuator and a Fryette Ps-100 to create my Di captures and like you I have a Behringer mixer that I'll mix 2 mics to create a "Studio" profile. Thanks for the video man

    I saw Carl's video about 6 months ago and did this to my Jeff Beck Strat (which already stayed in tune) and it took maybe 1/2 hour and works perfectly, except it's set to a major 3rd for the G. The low-E side spring and claw touch the side of the rout, but it has no negative effect, so go for it if you want -I love it!

    not sure if this is still monitored, but I get the E, B, and G intervals, but the E still goes sharp when I am aggressive with the tremolo bar...it's frustrating to adjust, play, tune, and need to adjust due too the E going sharp... I just read here a comment by BrainClark saying to only adjust one of the claw screws...I'll give this a try... also the comment by gm6417 saying back in the '70's he's been using this method with success. I've watched the Carl Verheyen video too, and neither that one nor this one actually SHOWS how to do this...

    Love my Powered Head. Due to several factors such as finance and lack of accessibility with Rig Manager, I, as a blind musician haven't been able to use Kemper products until recently when I discovered that someone wrote accessibility scripts for rig Manager to work with my screen reader. I'm hoping that Kemper and other companies will consider blind and disabled musicians in future, but for now, loving the tones I'm getting from the Powered Head and Kemper nonpowered kabinet. Have you found an easier way to transport the head?
