All the top players know each other, they probably met in St. Louis chess club, thewhere all the best players in the United States go to learn/ play in major American tournaments such as the US chess championship, or the sinquefield cup.
I genuinely thought Yasser was going to say that the chess player mistook the translation for 'fire water' (e.g. moonshine/whiskey) to be 'hot water'. I was waiting for the punchline that didn't land.
