I love that Kovacevic game. Several players in the Pacific Northwest were amazed by Duncan Suttles, a Canadian player with an unusual style. Seirawan was the best of these players, and it looked as though he channeled Suttles against Kovacevic.
They are consolidating the videos on Ben's channel, it's more likely for people to search Ben Finegold than the name of their old chess center, and probably this channel is much more active.
I'd agree. The first one I read was Fundamentals by Cap, and My Praxis by Nim. I bought the books Yaz put out and then gave to my nephew after I read them. The brilliancies one is especially well done. Now nephew is in all of my chess books. I can't beat him anymore.
I just "met" GM Yasser Seirawan late last week and have been enthralled with his career and commentary. I just "met" GM Ben Finegold in this video - although his name was familiar to me. Enjoyed the video and commentary. No talking!
14:14 - regarding castling queen side. That would be very funny to watch and to educate children in Ben's lectures. Because after O-O-O, white plays Ne5 and after Qe5 plays Bf4. If queen moves from the bishop, then Ba6 is mate. So black looses the queen for the bishop or resigns.
Light hearted is one thing... I didn't click to hear stand up comedy. Somehow I doubt Ben's tutor spent the whole time telling jokes. Yet, that's how we're supposed to learn. Ugh...
I agree with the statement that GM's should not be allowed to offer a draw or resign. Chess is a complete package until the endgame is won or a draw by force.
That's not a quip... that's GM Finegold telling a story from his life. If you know anyone who travels and is the "wrong" kind of foreign, they'll have told you how they get "randomly" selected all the time as well.
25:30 "That's why he's a great player of the past, and you're some kid falling out of their chair." Love that one of aforementioned kids totally loses it :)
Why would we not have read the forward in Bill Gates 21st century Edition my system by Aron nimzovich where Yasser does the forward about nimzovich which he doesn't much prefer or maybe downright dislikes it because he has something better to play or for whatever reason yessirs well-known he just unknown to you there in Georgia apparently he's known in places in Georgia I really enjoyed studying his pro chess, Mentor series it was incredibly awesome he's very methodical and goes over everything in great detail his classes are worthwhile to pay attention to
the last time this video was uploaded Yasser was in his late fifties, now he’s in his early sixties
Time travelling! Go Ben!
I was just going to say, today is not February 25th lol
@@Tube_Chaser Ben time travels 24 hrs every day, go ben! but stay there
@@lunalove2259 now it's February 25th! However it's not Tuesday
The tooth hurts
Ben talking to a group of six year olds "they furrowed their brows in a vain attempt to understand the situation." I love it!
Even in Ben's old age, his humor does not become dull! I love this guy!
He's still young. :D
He was 53 years old when you wrote that comment. That's not "old age". Sheesh.
I tried to play as Yasser in the second game and I must say it led me to great improvements: now I get mated way faster
I remember this video mainly for Yasser's style, which led me to comment "didn't know Yasser was actually all four members of Queen"
"You didn't get that joke, stop laughing!" - I feel ashamed.
i love Ben Finegolds teaching style.. he is a true teacher..
When Alekhine died and they wanted to make Euwe the champ again he straight up was like “that’s great but I’m not good enough”
A King among chessmen
Of all my favourite gms, I think Yasser is the one I'd actually want to meet. He seems so kind.
Yasser has unrivaled drip
At instant shock hit me when I've read the caption. Breathed out. Long live Yasser, his style is unmatchable.
Dudes got the best voice in chess
One of my favorite players ever. Yasser is massively underrated by most chess fans
1:18 aged like fine wine.
I love that Kovacevic game. Several players in the Pacific Northwest were amazed by Duncan Suttles, a Canadian player with an unusual style. Seirawan was the best of these players, and it looked as though he channeled Suttles against Kovacevic.
Re-upload for whatever reason. Help the channel and like the video again I suppose.
They're moving the atl club videos over because that page is closing or something
They are consolidating the videos on Ben's channel, it's more likely for people to search Ben Finegold than the name of their old chess center, and probably this channel is much more active.
If you're a beginner those 'Winning chess' books he wrote are worth getting
I'd agree. The first one I read was Fundamentals by Cap, and My Praxis by Nim. I bought the books Yaz put out and then gave to my nephew after I read them. The brilliancies one is especially well done. Now nephew is in all of my chess books. I can't beat him anymore.
Yasser has always been one of my favorite players. His videos at St. Louis Chess Club were my favorite
I just "met" GM Yasser Seirawan late last week and have been enthralled with his career and commentary. I just "met" GM Ben Finegold in this video - although his name was familiar to me. Enjoyed the video and commentary. No talking!
GM Yaz is a cool guy, I met him a couple times in person, very friendly.
12:30 i love that little break of the finegold character: confused eyebrows and clear smile before he's back to the bit
Yasser is a really good guy, I love his stories
Yasser is the king of anecdotes.
I don't think I've ever seen Ben on the high road... and that's the charm of his comedy
Pretty sure Yaz would smile at this video. I've met him, he's a funny guy.
Ben gives great lectures
Jan Timman gets crushed in so many Ben Finegold videos, but he probably deserved his own "Great players" video.
You've got to be pretty good to be on the wrong end of so many amazing games
@@12jswilson It wouldn't be amazing if they were playing a donkey. Jan could play.
@@scottrackley4457 Timman and Topalov were the 2 guys to play the game of your life against in the 90s

nice find
Also, Yasser is a wonderful person
I'm undecided why Ben's chess videos are so great: because I learn a lot, or because I laugh my ass off 😁
Same here
So funny
they are so great because both :D
Ben's humour is amazing, I had a lot of laughs...
'How do you know he's a grandmaster? You can't say or Spell his name!'
Light hearted is one thing... I didn't click to hear stand up comedy. Somehow I doubt Ben's tutor spent the whole time telling jokes. Yet, that's how we're supposed to learn. Ugh...
"Watching this reminds of a time when I already watched this." 😁
Mostly, etcetera.
time for the yasser lecture on ben!
When is the great player of the past Arjun erigaisi video coming up ?
“Ben Finegold” is one of the easiest names to pronounce. Boom roasted
I agree with Ben: in online tournament games, resigning should not be allowed, for the benefit of beginners.
I agree with the statement that GM's should not be allowed to offer a draw or resign. Chess is a complete package until the endgame is won or a draw by force.
At 28:57, I realize it was a joke, but I believe Kovacevic actually beat Fischer. He was a very good player
"He always gets randomly selected" 😂😂😂Finegold is too good with his quips!

Love that one of aforementioned kids totally loses it :)
Holland is only a part of the Netherlands. It means "hole land", because a lot f it is below normal sea level.
Go Ben!
Ben is good with the kiddos
Yasser is the Masser
"You have never heard about 1977"🤣
Ben is comedy gold
Can you do one on Ulf Anderson and Henrique Mecking?
there is an ulf lecture iirc
@@Xmask19 yeah there is, it did a good job explaining the positional squeeze he put on Karpov in that famous exchange sac game
Finegold must have woken up angry lighting up those kids. hahaha
Can you do a lecture on the kids games
can someone tell me the joke
45:45 "If you like that video, what's wrong with you?"
Not only for a chess class, I can see Mr. Finegold bring this lecture on a Comedy Central's stage
what does sugar me do means?
Much better than his sister Yasqueen
31:05 hit me like a brick
0:33 "can't make that joke" i think he means:
although barely alive
or
if you can call him alive
maybe it’s just “if you can call them people”
Nice biography
yasser frankly
Why would we not have read the forward in Bill Gates 21st century Edition my system by Aron nimzovich where Yasser does the forward about nimzovich which he doesn't much prefer or maybe downright dislikes it because he has something better to play or for whatever reason yessirs well-known he just unknown to you there in Georgia apparently he's known in places in Georgia I really enjoyed studying his pro chess, Mentor series it was incredibly awesome he's very methodical and goes over everything in great detail his classes are worthwhile to pay attention to
Vladimir Kovacevic was a very good player from Yugoslavia, he beat Bobby Fischer for example and many others
I've actually already seen this lol
ben is good friend to yasser
Lovely
Just one more thing..
February 25th👽👽
I am dying seeing Yasser w a fucking afro
Is Yasser a great player of the past because he played B4 ?
What's the joke?
bump
... but I figured that would take it too far?! :-)
Them you have no pieces. You guys know what that's like.😂
Fries
If resignations were forbidden, I can imagine hilarious situations where the losing side helps the winning side mate him in the fewest possible moves.
If you liked the video what's wrong with you 😂😂😂😂
Free pawn yummy yummy.
Yay first
Amazing that ben’s still alive
Truth hurts.
? Huh? He's only 53
Wow. This was a fanta---shtick seires of games and analysis. Thanks BF
