Bloody hell those trees are big!! Another wonderful place. Loving your vids, they're my little vicarious escapism treat.:-) Looking forward to part two. Thanks Catherine. Mike
Thank you Mike! I am looking forward to part 2, as well. It's a much different hike and shows another side of the park. Thanks as always for the support. Hope both you and your sister are well!
Thank you! I used all royalty free music on this one whereas I usually use known artists. Glad you still enjoyed. I went through lots of music to find what I liked. I was nervous about it actually because people have become accustomed to me using known artists. :)
Crescent meadows is a wonderful loop trail. And the loop trail next to it that goes to thorps log is fantastic to see bears grazing and foraging at a relatively safe distance. The trees are spectacular, massive and big enough to just live in as a house. The meadow itself is so beautiful. Loved that you were there while the dogwood was still in bloom and snow flowers too. Lots of not shy deer 🦌 who brazenly approach people in the picnic area. Been there several times and each time has been an absolutely unforgettable adventure
Thanks for showing the wildflowers on Moro Rock. It's good to know May is a good time to see them up there. I like that you spend time on the flora with close-ups. A lot of travelogues skip that detail.
Trail of 100 Giants is a must do -- especially to escape the crowds. The crest part before dropping into the meadows is my favorite! Have you/are you interested in doing the HST, which starts at Crescent Meadow? Happy trails!
Great to get off the beaten track Catherine. It's where the special places are. And this sure was a special place. Them giant redwoods are mamouth in contrast to you and everything else. Enjoyed the mountain flora and fauna and wild life. All the best. Mark.
Thank you Mark. I'd love to go back when there are fewer crowds and backpack the area. I appreciate you watching. Day 2 will be up in the next couple days.
Sequoia is on my bucket list. Thank you for posting this. It's everything I thought it would be. I'm also glad you had company, I've found that every trail is better if you have someone to share it with you.
I'm really excited about sharing Day 2. It's a very different hike and look at the area. One of the reasons I feel it's deserving of it's own video. I'm glad Julie came along. She is great company and it was a new area for me. With all the people...I might have been anxious being there alone. Thank you for watching!
Gorgeous as usual, and I enjoyed the scenery too :). Do you have an idea of the age of those trees? You obviously love the life you have chosen, and I salute your courage. Live long and trek far...cheers Cat.
Catherine... Hello sweetheart. This is one of those videos that I find myself coming back to again and again. You say these older videos aren't any good. I wouldn't say that. To me it looks like you were finding and refining your style as a videographer and creator. I know that I really enjoy watching your older videos. I can't think of any better way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon. Yeah, yeah. I know chances are pretty slim that you'll even see this comment. But if you ever do. Awe you know. 😘 Love you. ❤ Randy. 🎼✌
beautiful scenery!.....I have to hike amongst cattle at some of my hiking areas.....Florida has lots of cattle, they usually saunter away when you approach them...amazing trees would love to see them one of these days...I like to sing in the woods too!!...sing on!!!...those trees are truly awesome!
The big trees Are amazing. I was so glad we went to the sequoia and the big redwoods!!! Only 10 min wait to get in, we flew sfo drove 4 then stayed air I love your videos!
Video of the trees is great. But it’s one of those things where u can’t grasp just how gigantic these trees are unless ur there in person Love Sequoia!!! Such an oasis
Thank you for sharing you gift of photography of the outdoors. You make it seem like your viewers are with youand shareing your wonderful outdoor adventures. In my younger days I hiked extensively in the Sierras and your photos bring those days back to me. You mentioned in one of your earlier posts that you did not have a trail name yetAnd I would like to suggest " Kodachrome" it certainly says what you do so well. Happy Trails always!
Finally made it there last summer and was in total awe of those trees! We don't get that here in the southeast. Maybe next summer I'll actually get to hike it!
I would like to backpack in the park. There are some amazing spots you can only get to by foot. Good for escaping the crowds, as well. Thank you for watching!
you prolly dont care but if you're bored like me atm then you can stream all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last few days =)
Great photography..thanks for sharing. BTW, I think those "flower trees" are Dogwood, they are blooming throughout the Sierra's this time of year. They are currently in full bloom in the shady canyons around my cabin in Northern California..
Hi Katherine, Great Video. The air for your video was fairly clear and the view to the east was good. Alta Peak is the far left mountain with snow. The view west is not as clear as usual. You can see the Kaweah River flowing westerly but Kaweah Lake is not visible. If you are on the west side of Kaweah Lake, you can see both Moro Rock and Alta Peak. Thanks again.
Thank you Chris. You will love it and you will see why this video can't do those trees justice. I'm excited for you to get to explore these amazing places here in California.
I spent 28 years living in Visalia, about an hr's drive back into the valley, from the HWY 198 park entrance. Taught my kids how to swim just upstream from the spired concrete bridge(1:23), where you got "back on track". We'd fish till dark and all would swim in cold fast water on those HOT summer evenings. Hope you got over to see the Sherman Tree (largest tree in the world) or Grants Grove ( Grant Tree is second largest tree! and in a whole grove of giants ) . I've never climbed Morro rock, but have flown around it several times. I believe you show a bit of Castle Rock Formation (10:1), which is largely unexplored. It's supposed to be VERY RUGGED and hard to get into. It's on my bucket list. Anyway my first real back packing trip was to Seville Lake, when I was 12 (1962). Couldn't get my girls interested in hiking but my son, his friends and I made several trips into that area. So much to see there and so many directions to go! Love your vids! Thanks for sharing.
How wonderful to have so many cherished memories from the park. Thank you for sharing. I definitely need to get back in here and do some more exploring deeper into the backcountry. It is so beautiful.
it is a belated comment, but what a nice videos ! Time flies. I am glad all these places dont go anywhere. Fire can change them though but hopefully it doesnt happen =SS
I can’t say enough good things about sequoia. Crescent meadow is probably one of my fav loop of sequoias. And you often can see bears grazing in the meadow. Log meadow is stunning too
Wow, I can't imagine the size of those trees. That's pretty crazy. Good call getting away from the busses. It's funny what people miss when they don't stay on the trail.
In the beginning you didn’t want to bore us with details which yes it’s nice to see the great scenery But I am driving there and good to know it’s long to get in, that there’s shuttles and hundreds of steps ... more details help me plan. Especially since we only have 4 days in redwood and sequoia 🌲🌳💋
Nice video. It makes me even more anxious to get out on the trail. Crescent Meadows, the start of the High Sierra Trail. I fell in love with the Sierra in 2015 while hiking the JMT. I went back and did a 1 week, 100 mile loop starting on the High Sierra Trail last year. This year I'm planning a bigger hike starting out of Horseshoe Meadow on the east side of the Sierra and hitting the four hot springs - at least the 4 that I'm aware of - in the Sierra as well as however many other new sights that I can pack into the 3 weeks. The flowering trees at around 8:30 were dogwood. My mom has one in front of her house in Idaho, and I see them frequently while hiking in Northern California.
Thank you for the clarification on the type of tree. It is absolutely beautiful! I am envious about your past hike and your upcoming trip. Are you hitting Jordan Hot Springs by chance?
Starting in the south, I plan to hike to Kern River hot springs, Blayney hot springs, Mono hot springs, and Iva Belle hot springs. I'll leave either at Reds Meadow (Mammoth) or somewhere in Yosemite depending on timing.
Fantastic always wanted to go there thank you for taking me along and it was nice to go with a short little cute lady I shouldn't say short I'm only 5 7 are you into wild edibles I'm studying them for my area the southeast again thank you so much LOL
You really have a talent for making these videos. Each one seems to get just a little bit better...nice work. Are you still shooting them with the Sony...and do you still like it? I'm trying to decide what I'm going to bring with me on the JMT next year and would appreciate your thoughts...:) Also what are you editing with?
Catherine.....love this and all your videos. You are so steady and move slow with the camera. Like the close-up shots too. Wish I had a woman who loves the out-of-doors and hiking as much as you do. Will you marry me? Keep up the hiking and your nice videos. Keep safe too.
the greatest meal i've ever had .. i remember every bite the time of day the exact scene to the lady bug on my hand ..PBJ WITH A BEER FROM MY SMALL SOFTCOOL ON THE TOP OF YOSEMITE FALLS OCT 1998 AFTER ALL THE KIDS & FOOLS HAVE LEFT THE PARK GONE BACK TO SCHOOL & WORK & HOME SAW ONLY 4 PEOPLE THE WHOLE DAY
Julie, forevermore known as ANT Jules after Sequoia Park! Sure you MUST know by now when GPS wants you to turn on a dirt road---STOP. DO NOT VENTURE FORTH. This is the time to check your road map.👍👍
"When your GPS steers you wrong". Same thing happened to me when I went to Sequoia Nat'l Park the first time. Except the road didn't dead end and the cows were in a fenced area.
hahaaa...I really thought the GPS was taking us on a shortcut and we were going to link back up with the main road. It kept telling us we had a couple miles. Ugh! Live and learn. lol
I continually stress to my wife and daughters to learn how to READ A F'ING MAP! GPS is great on the freeway but gets people lost or killed in the backcountry.
What a great place to see Thank you for taking us along great work.
BREATHTAKING BEAUTY AND VIEWS!
It's a beautiful place for sure.
THANK YOU FOR GETTING BACK TO ME! HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT YEAR! BE SAFE! HAVE FUN! SMILE! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS! ENJOYED!
Thanks for sharing, such a beautiful place. Great video.
Thank you Gary. Gad you enjoyed it.
Very nice.....As spectacular as the trees are, the first thing I recall about this park is the freshness of the air.
Great review and glad to see you brought a friend 🍻
Thanks for taking this ,excellent job, peaceful and serene
Wow ... Beautiful , love sequoia !
Thank you!
I love this video thank you for posting this

Great footage and just the right music, true reasons for subscribing to your channel, thank you! Go Camo!
Thank you! I used all royalty free music on this one whereas I usually use known artists. Glad you still enjoyed. I went through lots of music to find what I liked. I was nervous about it actually because people have become accustomed to me using known artists. :)
Wow Sequoia! Very envious. Hope you had a blast.
It was an awesome trip Ken. Day 2 will go up in the next couple days. Thanks for watching.

You did it again. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! Always appreciate your support! :)
Thanks for showing the wildflowers on Moro Rock. It's good to know May is a good time to see them up there. I like that you spend time on the flora with close-ups. A lot of travelogues skip that detail.
Thank you Bri! Glad you enjoyed it. I guess my photography background helps me to notice the small, but beautiful details. :)
Super nice. Great photography!
RayBayFilmStudio thank you so much!
Trail of 100 Giants is a must do -- especially to escape the crowds. The crest part before dropping into the meadows is my favorite! Have you/are you interested in doing the HST, which starts at Crescent Meadow? Happy trails!
Thanks for the tip. I have thought of doing the HST. That would be awesome.

hey Catherine. Yeah that would be awesome. A nice steady trek through...take it in. A pleasure to watch. Mark.
Catherine, your video was beautifully filmed. Thank you for sharing. Be safe dear.🤗
Thanks so much Ronald. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

I've been wanting to go to Sequoia National Park for years, now I want to go even more now. It's such a beautiful area. I can't wait for part two!
It is sooo beautiful. I'd recommend NOT going on a holiday weekend. haha. I'm excited about part 2! It's an awesome hike!
Great video! Massive views and massive trees. I visited Sequoia NP in 1996 and pictures just can't capture how large the Sequoia trees are.
Thank you Bryan. The video really does not capture it. I see you have a new video and look forward to watching!
Amazing Area.. Glad to see you got away from the main tourist traps. Any Mosquitos Yet?
No Mosquitos, but lots of flies. Strange, but glad to not be bitten.
Epic adventure!! Amazing scenery!!
Thank you! It's definitely a beautiful park. I appreciate you watching.
HUGEMUNGOUS!!.... loved it.
Thank you Mike.
This is a great video.
Thank you!

What a beautiful place! Never have been there but have coastal redwoods! Would love to stop there on one of my travels out west! Thanks!
You wouldn't regret it! Happy Holidays!
I love Sequoia national park. So many trails to hike!!
Beautiful! I have to get out there and see those trees some day. I was there as a young boy....but that's been about 50 years ago!...haha
It was my first time there! So amazing! Thanks for watching.

Thank you for the info. I did notice that about the air. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't so clear looking west. I appreciate the info!
Ugh this is so great now I can't wait to get there in August!!! I will be in Eco heaven LOL. Fantastic video!!

Wow! Very nice views. U need to take a week done there in eastern sierras. Maybe this fall after labor day. In planning a mt whitney hike also.
Your the best Catherine.

You really have to be standing right there to fully respect their size. It's insane. I'm thankful those folks would rather stay on the bus. hahaa

Catherine, how are you liking your new camper?
Nice video!
Thank you Michael!
Not adventurous at all, great stream to take a dip in ,and you just sit there watching it.

Sequoia NP is in my back yard. Early bird gets the worm on weekends and holidays weekends at that.
Worked at Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks for three summers its a great park!
You are lucky to have spent time there. Thanks for watching!
one of the coolest things I did there was to hover just above a giant Sequioa in a helicoperter with the doors off, while flying into a fire
MY SOP: avoid the national parks on weekends and holidays . The national forests are a lot less crowded.
Those flowering trees (white flowers), and I am not an expert are probably Pacific Dogwood.
I think you are right. Thank you!
Thank you so much for always being sincere !
I'm going to have to check out Sequoia Nat'l Park next time I see customers in Visalia/Fresno/Hanford milk that trip into a 4 day weekend
For sure you must go. You won't regret it.
That's the difference between men and women: men would stop and ask for directions before getting lost.
hahaaa...I really thought the GPS was taking us on a shortcut and we were going to link back up with the main road. It kept telling us we had a couple miles. Ugh! Live and learn. lol
MAYBE LIGHTNING STRUCK THEM THE BURNT TREES?
I was thinking that David. Good call.
That was an old. Cement bridge .
Day 2 Already!!!
Hahaa. I appreciate your excitement!! Should go up tomorrow. Thank you.
I was there in 1990
you are safe in your car
I continually stress to my wife and daughters to learn how to READ A F'ING MAP! GPS is great on the freeway but gets people lost or killed in the backcountry.
California has 35000 Bears . 👀
just hack your horn they will move
Hello Katherine 👋😊 how are you doing
That's right girl, adventure is spelt ...g o n e w r o n g😅😎😂😋 LoL..

😋
I can't stand when everybody has music in the background I want to hear the real thing nature going up there Sunday 5 days in May 2018 LoL!
