Rocky Mountain National Park! I ran a half marathon in the Rockies in June 2019, just days after a freak snowstorm closed half the national park. It was my first time hiking in the snow, in entirely new conditions, and the experience changed my life. Absolutely magical. I decided right then and there that I needed to move here, and so I did, just last month.
I LOVE this channel! What a nice Sunday surprise to watch this. Those trees were amazing and you got some amazing footage. You have such a great presence I really wish the RUclips algorithm would do more for your channel. It's criminal you don't have 100's of thousands of subscribers (if not millions) when you put out such quality content that is not only entertaining to watch but also educational. Your channel has been so helpful for me personally. Last year when I was in Georgia you shared some many great places to hike in your videos I went out and did some of them and it made my time there much more enjoyable. Thank you for being a positive force on a platform full of so much garbage.
I had to think about it, but I was at the Sequoia National Forest when I was 8. That was 52 years ago. Thanks for opening up memory lane for me. Simply stunning and a feeling of awe, that never goes away.
I am from Germany and I was in Sequoia National Park in 2017. It was a magical trip, but me and my friends could only fit a small part of the park into our schedule and only hiked the Congress Trail. I would love to come back sometime and visit the rest of the park you showed in this great video.
An informative tour of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. The giant trees are so awesome! I have read quite a lot of books on trees over the years but of course it's great to see them in person. Thanks for the tour. Jenny
@@AliceFordAdventures Thanks Alice for the referral. Have you read "The Mother Tree?" or "The Hidden Life of Trees?" or "The Wild Trees?" All great books. I'm currently reading books on foxes: "Kiss By A Fox", and "The Hidden World of the Fox." Jenny
I love this video. Been to these two parks a few times and am always amazed at what there is to see as if I were a new arrival. I’m a new follower and will be checking out your other videos because I like your style.
Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP is on my list too! Maybe next to plan a trip to actually. Great video - thanks the work to put it together and let us virtually go there!
Some friends went to Kings Canyon in an RV and loved it. Thanks for an introduction to an area I've never been. Would love to hang out in those Sequoia groves on a regular basis
This was awesome! Thinking about making a trip out this summer, and I'm definitely bookmarking your video for it. I've always dreamed of seeing the giant trees, and I figured life is too short to not start planning.
Awesome!!!!!!! Thank You for sharing, and giving such an informative insight on your experiences!!!!!! What time of year was this adventure, and were these hikes all done in a day?
Thanks for referencing Leave No Trace principles. As a Scout Leader, I have my Cub Scout Den recite the scouting LNT Principles every meeting. I, too, have seen some real disrespectful people in parks and trails - especially on the AT in Georgia. Some people just don't get it, and scowl if you say anything to them. Hopefully, iy will get better...
How are you Alice. This is a magnificent forest and manicured trail systems. I agree with your «common sense» comments when describing hikers behavior while out there. Some don`t get it and the pandemic attracted more of those to nature. I do not know much about California`s NP although I have spend some time in Joshua Tree NP a few years ago while in Palm Desert for a few days. Awesome scenery. Sequoia NP represents an identical flora and fauna that we found here in British Columbia's West Coast. Those red cedars are gigantic. Keep on hikin'!
Thank you Alice, this is a great video. It is both informative and well orchestrated. And, we are heading into that area in a couple of weeks and really appreciate the post Castle Fire review. Thank you also for sharing your thoughts about the absolute need to respect the forests and protect them with common sense. I subscribed and will keep following your adventures. Thanks again.
Yet another absolute gem of a video. I cannot wait to get back out west to see these amazing views. This months trip will be a few days to the VA sand cave devils bathtub and Greysons highlands. Thank you yet again for the great video and awesome information.

If you haven't been down to King's River at Cedar Grove it's hard to say you've been to KIng's Canyon. Come back when it's open it's the best part of the park !!!!!
WOW, thnx Alice I did not know that five out of the ten largest trees on the planet, are in my FAVORITE Park and only two hours or so away from us, are In Sequoia National Park! 🤗😻😉
Go back in the fall, not the summer. My first trip there was in the fall, and we had a light dusting of snow. My last trip was with my son in November 2017, and it was virtually empty.
Alice, great video again. Great view from Moro Rock. Did you attempt to climb up onto any of the cut down stumps or is that off limits? The park is on my list to go visit just have not had the chance yet.
I didn’t climb any stumps, not sure if it’s off limits but I’m sure it’s frowned upon. I did want to climb on top of tunnel log but the tree was too tall it seemed impossible without a ladder haha
@@AliceFordAdventures You need someone to give you a 'leg up' so to speak! I am glad the park was not overly damaged by the fire. In 1,000 years no one will even know.
Still a bit cold and possibly snowy at higher elevations in Kings Canyon and the groves but warmer and melted in the meadows at low elevation in Sequoia
So I don’t want to be snarky, but as soon as you went on about people obeying the rules, you showed drone footage, flying drones in the parks is illegal. Just saying
That footage isn’t from inside the park, it’s from the road after you exit the park. I’m well aware drones aren’t allowed in the park am a licensed pilot and obey all drone rules

I love your videos Alice! You have inspired my boyfriend and I to visit more national parks. We recently visited Zion and Joshua Tree National Park and it was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you for sharing such beautiful content and for sharing your passion on preserving our planet!
What a wonderful time of year to visit - snow on the ground and when else can you admire General Sherman without crowds of people? Our favorite and most visited National Park. Nice overview Alice!
Crystal Caverns is BEAUTIFUL! The walk up to the cavern is sooooo scary though! Keep going a little further down to Ceadar Grove to sight see the water falls and at the end of Ceadar Grove, stop and swim 🏊♂️ in a beautiful swimming hole and watch people dive from a giant bolder into the water. Its a perfect place to have a picnic as well.
They ought to pay you to haul off the pinecones. If you own property in the park they send you letters to clean up the forest trash that falls on the land. We take truckloads of pine cones to the dump 🙂
Welcome back. I appreciate your candor regarding the actions of others in nature. There's a pull-off along the road going up Mt. Evans where I always stop to listen to the stream since I have a memory of stopping there as a child. The bark of the aspen trees at that spot are simply destroyed from people carving their names or initials. Sad. I don't understand why people stack rocks either. Little formations here and there for no justifiable reason. Takes away from the natural beauty. Unfortunate. Hope you had a good trip.
Thanks for the comment Jason. Yes rock piles may be worth talking about soon too as that is what parks actually use for trail markers. Carving names is really ignorant
Can't wait to get out that way and explore! Crazy to me they cut down the trees because people just didn't believe how big they were lol Thanks for showing us around!
This was great. Never been to Sequoia-King’s Canyon, but it’s on my short list. Alice, I really admire your camera craft and editing. Nice job as always.

In some areas there are signs to stay on the trail , but with snow there is no trail in many areas and in some places the trail goes right next to the trunks, it certainly isn't well posted in the off season as there is little to no delineation as to where you are supposed to walk, especially in the big trees meadows area.
If you could only visit one US National Park which one would you choose and why?
