Rocky Mountain National Park! I ran a half marathon in the Rockies in June 2019, just days after a freak snowstorm closed half the national park. It was my first time hiking in the snow, in entirely new conditions, and the experience changed my life. Absolutely magical. I decided right then and there that I needed to move here, and so I did, just last month.
As a 32-year retiree of the National Park Service, I love the messages you share along with the travel info. I was actually in Sequoia/Kings Canyon on a fire detail on 9/11/2001.
I LOVE this channel! What a nice Sunday surprise to watch this. Those trees were amazing and you got some amazing footage. You have such a great presence I really wish the RUclips algorithm would do more for your channel. It's criminal you don't have 100's of thousands of subscribers (if not millions) when you put out such quality content that is not only entertaining to watch but also educational. Your channel has been so helpful for me personally. Last year when I was in Georgia you shared some many great places to hike in your videos I went out and did some of them and it made my time there much more enjoyable. Thank you for being a positive force on a platform full of so much garbage.
I had to think about it, but I was at the Sequoia National Forest when I was 8. That was 52 years ago. Thanks for opening up memory lane for me. Simply stunning and a feeling of awe, that never goes away.
I JUST got a sequoia seed ring and fallen sequoia bark necklace from an etsy shop called 'growgoodcalifornia' because i miss this national park so much! im so happy to come across your video! thanks for sharing :,) it brings back good memories!
I love this video. Been to these two parks a few times and am always amazed at what there is to see as if I were a new arrival. I’m a new follower and will be checking out your other videos because I like your style.
This was great. Never been to Sequoia-King’s Canyon, but it’s on my short list. Alice, I really admire your camera craft and editing. Nice job as always.
Alice provides insightful information here. The view is delightful from above Moro Rock. A portion of Alice’s bootlace touches the steps @ 8:03. It would’ve untied had it been stepped on. Alice could’ve double tied the laces.
I am from Germany and I was in Sequoia National Park in 2017. It was a magical trip, but me and my friends could only fit a small part of the park into our schedule and only hiked the Congress Trail. I would love to come back sometime and visit the rest of the park you showed in this great video.
Crystal Caverns is BEAUTIFUL! The walk up to the cavern is sooooo scary though! Keep going a little further down to Ceadar Grove to sight see the water falls and at the end of Ceadar Grove, stop and swim 🏊♂️ in a beautiful swimming hole and watch people dive from a giant bolder into the water. Its a perfect place to have a picnic as well.
So thankful I found your channel. Currently hiking solo in local spots but hoping I'll be brave enough like you are one day to hike all of my bucket list spots like this one
I love your videos Alice! You have inspired my boyfriend and I to visit more national parks. We recently visited Zion and Joshua Tree National Park and it was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you for sharing such beautiful content and for sharing your passion on preserving our planet!
An informative tour of Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. The giant trees are so awesome! I have read quite a lot of books on trees over the years but of course it's great to see them in person. Thanks for the tour. Jenny
@@AliceFordAdventures Thanks Alice for the referral. Have you read "The Mother Tree?" or "The Hidden Life of Trees?" or "The Wild Trees?" All great books. I'm currently reading books on foxes: "Kiss By A Fox", and "The Hidden World of the Fox." Jenny
Sequoia National Park is our favorite part to camp and hike in. Sometimes we just drive up for the day, head to Home Lake to swim and have a picnic. Its definitely a beautiful Park to visit.
Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP is on my list too! Maybe next to plan a trip to actually. Great video - thanks the work to put it together and let us virtually go there!
Yet another absolute gem of a video. I cannot wait to get back out west to see these amazing views. This months trip will be a few days to the VA sand cave devils bathtub and Greysons highlands. Thank you yet again for the great video and awesome information.

What a wonderful time of year to visit - snow on the ground and when else can you admire General Sherman without crowds of people? Our favorite and most visited National Park. Nice overview Alice!
How are you Alice. This is a magnificent forest and manicured trail systems. I agree with your «common sense» comments when describing hikers behavior while out there. Some don`t get it and the pandemic attracted more of those to nature. I do not know much about California`s NP although I have spend some time in Joshua Tree NP a few years ago while in Palm Desert for a few days. Awesome scenery. Sequoia NP represents an identical flora and fauna that we found here in British Columbia's West Coast. Those red cedars are gigantic. Keep on hikin'!
Thanks for referencing Leave No Trace principles. As a Scout Leader, I have my Cub Scout Den recite the scouting LNT Principles every meeting. This was awesome! Thinking about making a trip out this summer, and I'm definitely bookmarking your video for it. I've always dreamed of seeing the giant trees, and I figured life is too short to not start planning.
I love the videos too. We live in Colorado and have enjoyed the ones on 14'ers (I've done 16). Also love the National Parks (we are doing #50 next week). And loved the Norway one too.
@@AliceFordAdventures - I just turned 66, so I think my 14er days are behind me. A really fun one was Sneffels, near Ouray, CO. Beautiful wildflowers in the meadows, along with a twin waterfall, in Yankee Boy Basin on the way up. It's loose rock on the approach to the saddle, so a helmet is wise.

Welcome back. I appreciate your candor regarding the actions of others in nature. There's a pull-off along the road going up Mt. The bark of the aspen trees at that spot are simply destroyed from people carving their names or initials. Sad. I don't understand why people stack rocks either. Little formations here and there for no justifiable reason. Takes away from the natural beauty. Unfortunate. Hope you had a good trip.
Thanks for the comment Jason. Yes rock piles may be worth talking about soon too as that is what parks actually use for trail markers. Carving names is really ignorant
