Pat from Green Room (Anton Yelchin's character) is such an underrated final boy! He goes through so much emotional and physical pain but he's incredibly brave, resourceful, and smart. *Spoilers* He's in an absolutely horrific situation and the fact that he was not only able to get out of it but come out on top was incredible to watch. Anton brought so much to that character. He was such a talented actor, and I hope he's resting peacefully 💚
They actually played Dewy's score in Scream 5 when he visited Mindy and Chad's house it was a nice little detail. When I see Nick in House of Wax all I see is Lucas Scott from One Tree Hill 😭

Bruce Campbell is the best final boys in the Evil dead franchises
It just doesn't get any more iconic as Ash Williams as the final boy (my personal favorite)
One of my favorites is Arkin from The Collector/The Collection.
Overlooked final guys: Christopher Walken as P.J. Decker and Charlie Schlatter as Artie Logan in All American Murder.
I forget his name but the dude in Hills Have Eyes taken a bat and a dog straight into the belly of the beast after those cannibals just murdered his wife and her parents is one of the most courageous things I've ever seen on film.
He has probably already been mentioned, but Clay from the Friday the 13th remake is my favorite final boy. He kept looking for his sister on his own when everyone else gave up on her, and he took on freaking Jason Voorhees and lived. Or at least I'd like to think that he lived, but who knows after that final scene. He's also one of the only likeable characters in that movie along with Whitney and Jenna imo 😂
The official line from Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell about Evil Dead 1-2's continuity is that part 2 is a direct sequel. They intended to include footage from the original movie to sum up the story, but they couldn't get the rights to it. They decided to reshoot the important scenes that are relevant to the story of Evil Dead 2, and made some minor change like cutting out the other friends to streamline things and better serve Evil Dead 2.

For me The first Final Destination Final boy has to be on the list...beating death itself or the Hostel's final boy too.
Haley Joel Osment's performance was amazing and got him an Oscar nomination. Good call on two final boys for The Thing, since there's really only one.

I have to say I've never seen a Final Boys list, great idea! Surprising pick with Ed Warren, but I would have to agree. Great take on the "We're gonna need a bigger boat." line! Nice call on The Thing. Love your list! If I were to make one, I think I might add Will from Freddy Vs. Jason as at least an honorable mention.

To add context to Evil Dead 2's continuity and apologies if someone has already mentioned this but its both a remake and a sequel. To cut a long story short Raimi couldn't get the rights to use footage from Evil Dead 1 due to it belonging to a different company so the beginning part with ED2 is a recap of ED1 and the part where Ash gets flown around the forest is when the events of Evil Dead 2 begin. For note Bruce Campbell said this himself in an interview and I can understand why it would come across as a little confusing to a lot of people. Great list btw 👍

Thanks for bringing Chief Brody to my mind. And in Jaws 2 he is so ready. Unlike slasher movies where the killer has an anniversary date for murdering, and yet, the cops are never prepared 😂

I like most of your list except for Ash. He's got to be top 5. Another one that not enough people talk about is Arkin from the collection and collector. I think he's amazing in both of those movies and I would have him in top 5 also.

I would add Fool from The People Under the Stairs. A very overlooked film written and directed by Wes Craven. Fool is everything. Smart, strong, and compassionate. #JusticeForFool

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but it seemed like you didn’t know about the retcon of the first and second Evil Dead movies (if you do then I’m sorry for assuming that, just thought I’d shed some light in case of the confusion between the two since they never really explained it). So the second movie omits everything in the first one. What happens in the beginning of Evil Dead 2 is supposed to take the place of the first movie if that makes sense. So the side characters (besides Ash’s gf) were never with them on this trip. They rewrote it to make it seem like it was just Ash and his girl that went to the cabin and not Ash, his girl, his sister, and friends (which kinda annoyed me tbh because the first one is a well done movie imo). Nevertheless, the second movie is ranked low on my list of all the Evil Dead movies due to the retcon.

Jason Voorhees, Eric Draven, Andy Barkley, Ash Williams, Arthur Fleck I think if you consider Joker a horror film, Darry Jenner from Jeepers Creepers, and Tommy Jarvis are my favorite also I don't know if anyone knows this but Heath Ledger was in a horror movie it's called The Order I haven't seen it but I might because Heath is in it
Once you added my number one in the 20s I was incredibly intrigued to see who your actual number 1 was, lol. (Tommy Jarvis would be my number one). A lot of mine made your list though I think they would be in a different order. Also...I am also a romantic so fictional universe Ed Warren would 100% be in my top 10. Him singing in the 2nd Conjuring movie sealed it for me, lol.

- Columbus (Zombieland) survives a whole Zombie Ap0calypse based on his own rules ? We stand
- Nathan (haunt 2019) it is challenging and he did say : let me finish everything
- Bill Denbrough ( IT 1&2 ) ahhh I love him
- Ben Miller ( escape room ) he also survives all of these games 😭
- Sergeant ( The purge anarchy/ election year ) he’s an absolutely badass
- Gerry Lane ( World W*ar Z ) I don’t have to explain myself
- Clay ( Friday the 13th 2009 ) he just wanted his sister and instead he got Jason 😭
- Chris Flynn ( wrong turn 2003 ) he was clever
- Doug ( the hills have eyes 2006 ) he GOES THROUGH a lot 😭 he deserves more

I' d like to step in and say that I believe " final girls" are more of a hook to plot itself, it rounds it off. Still, I firmly consider " Final boys" to be a sufficient formula...my favorite one is Tommy- from Friday the 13th film.

Jason Voorhees & Eric Draven From The Crow Are My Two Favorite Final Boys Of All Time Because They Both Managed To Come Back From Two Tragically Wronged Intimately Deaths & Their Actions Are Both Justified In Their Own Narratives Despite Being Antiheroes Of Their Own Stories. They Deserved Better. To Them "WE" Were The Bad Guys.
Jack Driscoll, King Kong (all 3 movies)? I'd say the best performance of Jack was Jeff Bridges, but his Kong movie is the worst, not a bad movie per se, but why a man in a gorilla suit, just nooooo. Ooooo and Jonathan Harker Dracula (all 300 lol). In the book Harker really gets put through it. Keanu probably the best though?
I have one your forgot who beats all of the ones you pick Kyle from Darkness Falls he is hands the best last boy in history in horror movies. Check out the movie and you would understand no one beats him he been surviving for many years.

Yeah Ash is like the ultimate final guy. He's in my top 3 for sure.
NONE of them finishes their movies has solo survivors, so they are not Final Boys. The concept of Final Boy should be just like the Final Girls, the last girl standing, but this list only show guys that survive with other people with them, or dies on the final scene, or is not even in a slasher horror movie context to be consider Final Boys.
