It is really nice to see 'real' people who can admit to making real mistakes. So many professionals try to put on a perfect show to impress people, and all it does is discourage people from trying, because we're not nearly as perfect. So thank you for not only giving such helpful advice, but also doing so in a way that doesn't make the rest of us feel so inadequate.
Just watching both of you working together is a delight. As presenters and teachers you are very compatible, or at lest thats the impression I get. Looking forward to more.
I'm a novice to quilting, I've only completed 1 quilt. When I first got interested in quilting (2003) I started collecting hundreds of patterns. Most of them had appliques, well I thought learning how to applique would be hard or even impossible.... for me that is. Anyway thanks to modern technology, watching these tutorials on appliqueing and quilting makes me think I can do it too. So in the near future, I'll give appliqueing a try, of course something simple at first....then who knows....
I am on my husband's youtube, whatever, anyway I just finished stitching Santa Lane and I loved the process. I could have done a much better job if I had seen this first. Jenny, you plan such great shows and techniques. Thank you so much and I am SO GLAD I found your site.
AWESOME!!! ))) Everything you do is just AWESOME!!! You two are TREASURE, your quilts are PRECIOUS!!! Thank you so much for teaching and inspiring us! Thank you!!! :)))
I am surprised that |Jan hasn't used liquid (or spray) sizing. In one class we were to iron on the paper to the wrong side, wet the edges with sizing with a q-tip and press the edges over the paper (just like you do when you use glue stick). The edges stay put even after the paper is removed while it is appliqued, however it does not feel or look like starch. I used the wee iron as it does a great job on those tiny places.
I have watched nearly all your videos being new to quilting and made 3 quilts based on your patterns, just working on the disappearing 4 patch and then I will tackle applique. Do you have any outlets in the UK?
I'm a little confused about when you put freezer paper on the back or the front. Squares are to the back but leaves are to the front because they get sewn to the down? But doesn't everything get sewn down? Curves on circles and leaves are treated opposite?
Look how tiny those stars are in the snowman's eyes (I think that was on Santa Claus Lane)! The quilt in the background, where Jan used the half hexie to make her trees, do you have that pattern? I don't see it on the website.
Why don't you take the paper out before you sew down the circle, etc? Is it that necessary to hold it "firm"? Thanks! I'm LOVING this! Applique is NOT my favorite technique.
I love Jan' s patterns!
That quilt hanging in the background is gorgeous.
Jenny is always pleasant to watch. She has a friendly, positive demeanor and a kind voice. Jan's quilt designs are adorable. Thanks.

These tutes are so helpful. I took 4-H when I was young and learned to sew but never to applique and this is wonderful.
This series has been a complete JOY - Thanks To Both of YOU STARS :) (I just love the one I did along with you)

I have loved all the applique. Thank you for having this on your show.
Oh my goodness, I am so inspired. You two ladies are such good teachers. It is a lot to learn, but seems do-able for me. Thank you

Love that colover bias maker
Wonderful tutorial - thanks so much. I have learned a lot and feel confident enough to maybe give it a go!
The bias maker in a larger size is also great for making a perfect strap for a tote or handbag as well. :)
Absolutely fabulous I must say after watching you and her I have probably gotten the bug
Great turorial, I can't wait to try to do it!
I love this one, they are all great!

Hi Jan, I love your videos! I've learned so much! My question is, how do you hang your wall quilt?
Oops, didn't wait until the end of the video, you named the pattern for me. Thanks. Guess I got too excited.
Excellent tutorial - learned a lot. Love the quilt hanging behind you with the snowman, trees & stars. Do you have the pattern?
Wonderful tutorial! Thanks
Enjoyed this very much - thanks a million for the inspiration! Sandra from Canada
Thank you..
Love it!
You guys are amazing. Where can I get the pattern? I am going to try it and see if I can follow. Let u know.
Hi. I just ordered my pattern.
I have watched nearly all your videos being new to quilting and made 3 quilts based on your patterns, just working on the disappearing 4 patch and then I will tackle applique. Do you have any outlets in the UK?
Jan I am one of your subscriber. I just want to ask you one doubt. how to make curved stem with bias.straight.one is OK. we have to draw curved lines
I'm a little confused about when you put freezer paper on the back or the front. Squares are to the back but leaves are to the front because they get sewn to the down? But doesn't everything get sewn down? Curves on circles and leaves are treated opposite?
Great videos
are the patterns available in England

Will you offer the pattern for the Pine Tree Ridge quilt?
Hi. Is the pattern for the 3 hearts with flowers in a row available anywhere?
Are these hand quilted or machine quilted?
I need a tutorial for book review 10" squares
Can we still watch parts 1 and 2?
Why not use an iron-on fabric glue that is paper-backed?
Vary usfull thing u sis
What is the pattern on the wall behind them?
Pine Tree Ridge BOM
