I just bought a 2020, so your videos really help me understand the capabilities. I’m coming from JKU with 4”, Lockers and all the goodies. The 4Runner is way different. Thanks.
With 33’s it’s easy to get that spot wrong. It is not overly difficult but if you chose the wrong line it gets tough. I also bent a tie rod on that spot on another ride. Still had a bit to go before tipping, but made for a memorable adventure.
Since you've owned your runner for so long I think you'd be a good advocate for this question or maybe not haha. But have you experienced steering wheel vibration at about 60mph at any point in owning your runner? If so, what are the things you might have done get rid of it? Thanks and great vid as always!
@@buffettdesign running toyo at3 on rrw -12 off set with stock height. Never had done any off road with only 10k miles. Had them balances twice and the second time, they said there was nothing wrong. Rotated the tires and that helped a little. Will put on the factory next and go from there. Thanks man.
Bummer. Every time it has happened to me, it has been fixed by getting them balanced. 4Runners can be tough to get the front right. Once I took my truck back to Discount tire to balance again and they where more precise on the front the second time. Wobble was gone.
Some people want a lexus like ride with big ass 35" Nito Grappler tires, and they want to fly on the highway, My 2021 TRD pro rides smooth at highway speeds and I've taken it way above the speed limit. I hope that answers your questions. The tires vibrate as relative to the serated patterns of the tread.
@@4047530025 well, I have missed mentioning that my 21 trd orp is bone stock. The wheels are rrw rr6h with stock size tires which are toyo at3. Not crazy as far as mods go. I dont know about you, but I feel the 4runner (mainly because the potential they have) really should not have an intermittent wheel vibration simply because of after market wheels and tires. In my book if I can't even do that then I really don't want to put any effort into mods. I'm not expecting no lexus ride. I have owned several other toyota trucks and none have ever shown any vibration like my runner does. Balanced threw different time including road force balancing and a entire new set of same tires and still have symptoms. Three toyota dealership denied the vibration. One acknowledged it but won't do anything about it. So what am I to do? Did I get a bad 4runner? Who knows at this point. Brand new rig with manufacturer warranty and yet no answer. I'm not about to spend money when you know, they know what is going on. They've seen that same car for over a decade. I'm sure they have good knowledge on it. Anyways. I'm glad yours is as good as can be. I wish mime was to. I love my rig, but toyota is doing me (in this instance) wrong. I will trade it for something else.
Many thanks. It has been a great rig. I have a full set of aluminum RCI skid plates, rock sliders by C4, Icon Stage 7 suspension kit with billet rear control arms and an ikamper roof top tent.

Definitely two different beasts. I am glad the videos are helpful for your transition.
Snow wheeling! Looked so fun
That was a good trip. I am lucky I didn’t get stuck up there. I didn’t see a soul the whole ride. Would have been a cold night.
good driving badass rig!!
Thank you Sir
Thought you were going to tip at the second obstacle

Make sure those front tires are well balanced. If that does not work it may need an alignment. Did you take any big hits to the front end?

I just bought mine last night. Paid $46K before my trade in. Can not wait any longer.
Congratulations. I hope you enjoy your rig as much as I do!
Probably a smart move to turn around after the rock garden. Up next were some single track ascents that, if all iced up, would have been an issue.
Do you think this trail is completely doable for a stock 5th gen w/ locker in general?
@@LoyaltyUntilDeath As long as you have some rocker protection.
Maybe a bit rough but certainly doable. I think I had my stage 7 icons already on the rig at this point. 33’s too.
Great Rig .....2019 TRD PRO Voo Doo ....here .....heavy hitter fun Beans
@1:51..I thought you were going to claim that tree. Haha. Wow. Great skill. Beautiful scenery.
Haha! The perspective may be a bit deceiving, but yeah, it was close! It was a great day to be out.
Love the video, and love the build! If got a TRD OR myself. Just curious what mods you have done?

Tyler, when did you start running Ikon? Did the stock suspension fade early on your runs?
I needed that lift. Was scraping everything. Plus the icons handle like a dream in and off the road. I was very impressed with the difference!
I installed them at 20,000 miles. Had them for 20,000 miles.
Balls of steel
It’s all relative, but I’ll take the compliment😂
Love this song 😂😂
Right? It happened to sync pretty well with the video!
