When u add sour cream or buttermilk to cake mix the leavening needs to be adjusted...add 1- 1.5 tsp of baking soda to the batter...should fix the middle sinking...
Seriously the yummiest chocolate cake I have ever made. I made this cake for my sons birthday party, but used a white frosting for decorating purposes. Family and friends LOVED it! I’m pretty sure every kid and adult asked for seconds and thirds. Definitely a keeper! Thank you Christine! ❤️
Trying this cake now. I swapped oil for butter and water for milk. I added 1 teaspoon baking powder for leavening. I'm finding the center is uncooked at 25 minutes... it's possible the oven is faltering though so I'm gonna try the same thing at a friends house tomorrow.
For anyone who's totally exhausted by the general term "ROOM TEMPERATURE" ,get a chocolate thermometer and cut the butter s tick in half then stick the thermometer in the center of one untill it reads 62 degrees for warm rooms.ans 63 for cool rooms. That's it.
Great video, I cant wait to try this, one question, can I use skim milk when making the frosting and if I want vanilla frosting due I just leave out the cocoa powder, thank you
How long will the whip hold its shape, I want to make this and deliver it to my mom(making this during quaurteen) but I'm worried the whip cream will loose its shape and melt before I get it delivered
Susan Ward if the whipped cream is whipped to a stiff peak it will hold better than a soft peak. It will hold for a while if the temperature isn’t warm. How far will you be traveling with the cake? You could also wait to pipe the whipped cream until you got to her house
@@ZestedFoods thank you for replying, I don't have far to travel with the cake, 10 mins, and its still very cool here, I cant go into my parents house because of self isolating, I am going to make this cake and icing today, thank you
I use a box cake but I deviate from the box. My hack is: 1 cup milk 1cup melted butter 1box instant pudding 5 eggs 1 to 2 teaspoons of vanilla ( or any flavor extract you want....I've used multiple flavors) Bake according to box. The batter is going to be very very thick....that means the instant pudding is doing its job. You won't believe how moist, dense, tender and delicious your cake will be.
Loved your video! Can't wait to make this ! Don't let the comments about your beautiful hair bother you....hell girl..your in your own damn kitchen ...your not waiting tables and serving these people Good grief ! Lol Your awesome 😘

Looked really nice, I have long hair like you do, but I tie it back to bake.
It seemed like you hair could land in the cake when you were frosting.
😁
Delish idea

I am so glad you and everyone enjoyed the cake :) Happy birthday to your son!!
Beautifully done!🏆
I loved your video, instead of the water can you substitute with milk,?
does the whipped cream last?
What is the size of the pan? Tks.
What is chocolate pudding? We don't have it here in the UK.
Instant Pudding is sold in a 3.4 oz box. I'd try 3.4 oz custard, instant if you can find it, just the dry powder, not prepared.

Susan Ward yes, you can use skim milk and yes you can leave out the cocoa powder
What is the reason for the corn syrup
linda willis corn syrup is sometimes added to frosting to help thin the consistency making it more spreadable. You can leave it out if you want 😊
Hi, so I really liked what you did with the cake mix. I did want to ask you if you could make a bundt cake with the mix?
Hi! I haven’t cooked it in a bundt pan, but yes, you can. Let me know how it turns out 😀

Can I use butter instead of oil
Yes, you can absolutely use butter. Use the same quantity, melt it down and let it cool for a little bit 😀

Please tie back your hair when recording your cooking video. You have a lot of good advice.
