Absolutely, changing the rules just before a debate to suit the Labour Party. Unfortunately, this might hinder Labour in GE. I'm in Scotland and have seen this too often. Labour and Tories joining together just to stick it to the SNP. Imo whether you like them or loathe them, they are the only opposition to the Tories. it's the SNP day in Westminster to put forward an opposition motion for debate and vote, the SNP motion asked for a ceasefire in Gaza and in the motion it uses the words "collective punishment".
It was reported that Labour was going to vote against or abstain against the SNP ceasefire motion because Keir Starmers Labour doesn't like the words "collective punishment" that is happening to the civilians in Gaza.
It's been reported that Labour lent on the Labour Westminster Speaker to change the Westminster convention on how to proceed.
The Labour Speaker changed the convention of Westminster that only the SNP motion and the Tory government motion would get debated and voted on. The Labour speaker of Westminster added a Labour amendment to the SNP Gaza ceasefire motion to be debated and voted on.
If the Labour amendment is voted through the SNP Gaza ceasefire motion would not be voted on.
The Tories pulled their amendment which means that the Labour amendment to the SNP motion will get voted on and will be added to the SNP motion and the SNP motion for a ceasefire will not be voted on.
The Labour amendment to the SNP motion was nodded through because the government said that they wouldn't vote, so there wasn't a vote. No Labour MP can say they voted for a ceasefire.

Netanyahu has asked the world to help stem the rise of Islamic hardliners and got no where. He has said enough is enough and is now kicking ass.As in all these things the innocent get hurt as the so called Islamic freedom fighter hide behind the women and children.Look were the Hamas leaders are living, none in range of the Israelis at the moment but that will soon change.

Ahhh so you're happy that Britain's stance for war is not to send any message for a ceasefire. Most Scottish people I know want a ceasefire and we don't represent the tactics taken by Sunak who represents Britain.

Whist any sane person wants a ceasefire the last time the warring middle east states had a punch up its the countrys that were beaten called for a ceasefire. Egypt,Syria Jordan and Lebanon out number the Israel 7or8 to 1 but will not help the badly treated Palestine muslims.I never voted for Sunak and never will, if he can find a way to line his or his familys pockets something may happen to help. As time go,s by the more I can see the rightfull and correct wish of the Scots and Welsh to leave the Union, but you are going to have to find a better bunch than the ones you have to run your show because I fear the lot there now are I am afraid to say not up to the job. @@andyl7802

@andyl7802 Straw man. He didn't say that. And there *was* a message sent, was there not? There was a call for ceasfire. And it's right to send the message, but no, Netanyahu couldn't care less.

Both parties are guilty of filling their pockets from the high taxes they pile on us and the poor services they deliver. At least when labour was in power ,I could see a Doctor, get a hospital appointment without waiting years ,buy my groceries cheaper and afford my mortgage or pay my rent . 14 years of agony for many of the poorest in society and yet this vote and the way it was handled is at the top of the agenda… shameful !

there was no vote for a ceasefire, only a non-binding motion on Labour's amendment. Labour and the Speaker blocked the Parliament vote on SNP's tabled ceasefire motion and the Speaker only allowed Labour's amendment to continue. The Speaker later apologised to Parliament (and particularly to the SNP) for his actions and it's been suggested that Starmer and the Whip bullied the Speaker into breaking House rules to scupper the SNP ceasefire vote.
