Starting buying these cabinets for my basement, got the simpsons and x-men and had my eye on this. Glad I watched this I think I will wait, I wish it came packaged with a few games like the other machines. Revolution X would have been a good one to package in. Right now I have an old tv that works with lg games with my ps2 and saturn hooked up to them for gun games only, I might just build something around that tv and make it look like an arcade machine, would get more out of it for less at this point. I do really like the look of the T2 machine though.
I appreciate your honest reviews. The prices keep going up and the quality stays the same or gets worse. The Pro Line better be perfect for whatever price they sell them for. If you only can recommend something when it's on sale it just shows that the company doesn't have it's product priced correctly.
Dead on with your review. Best review on this cab so far. Thank God for Joe Szabo. This is a holy grail cab for a lot of people. Unfortunately we shouldn’t have to upgrade something that cost $700.
@@Gohan921 I think most people in this community realize that, it’s just the idea of having their own arcade in their house. Meaning having a cab that looks as close to the real thing as possible.
Ended up diying a retractable cable system and it is cheaaaap and easy! I cut the bottoms off the base per the video you recommended and stuff the cables down in the cab. Then went around back and tied a half ziplocked bag of rice to the middle of the cable. Left enough length so it touched the bottom and didn't pull the cable out of its connectors. You can take whatever amount of rice out of the bags to make it feel better on the pull. Plus the bad don't make sound when hitting the bottom when you let the cable retract. Worked like a charm and made this cab feel and look so much better.
Also if want to get rid of the clickty sound in the guns open it up and throw a piece of foam tape or gorilla tape and leave the plastic on one side around the screw the back piece hits.
You give the most honest reviews out of all the other Arcade1up reviewers. They’re so busy kissing Arcade1up butt trying to get free cabs or John D to be on their show that they down play all the issues with these cabs. For $700 these cabs should be flawless, thanks for your honesty I appreciate it
'Dubs, I gotta tell ya, that's just about the best review I've seen yet for an arcade cab. Clear, concise, and honest in its conclusions, the viewer pretty much knows exactly what to expect if they buy this cab. In other words, what every review should be. Far as this cab goes, while T2 would look great in any home arcade, the cost-to-value on this product is obviously very skewed. I'm not even sure it's worth $500 considering the negatives, biggest of which is the 17" screen size; far too small for a shooter. The lack of a coin door - which likely costs A1up $10 or less to produce - is truly bizarre. And having only one game is the final nail in the coffin for me. Great content brother; keep 'em coming!
You nailed it the game is fun and provides family entertainment! The minor problems are what most will ignore as I don’t stare at a washed out marquee or a cord hanging from the cabinet while playing or in the idle position. Very precise review and I will be viewing more on your channel soon. 👍🏽
You hit it on the head with this review. When you're spending $699 retail, and you have to buy a new marquee, 2.1 speaker system, etc, that's just not worth it. If it goes to $499, I'd maybe consider it.

Fascinating to see them do a light gun-based cabinet at last! Hopefully one day we might get a _House Of The Dead_ or _Point Blank_ version, either of those would kick so much ass. 😄
I’d also love to see a House Of The Dead machine but Sega lost the original source code for all of them years back. The last legit port we got was on the Wii and that might be the last time we see the OG games 😭

Big Buck presents way more replay value. Seems like they took a step back with this lightgun cab while escalating the price. All too common with them lately. I'd consider it at $399. Probably hit that sale point in a few months when stores are tired of the dead space it creates in their stock rooms.

Even though you weren't first, I'm so glad you made this review. Really nice job, very thorough look at the cab. I'd like to get it at $499, otherwise it's a pass. 8-Bit Vinyl did a wicked mod video to his T2 with Klipsch speakers, you should check it out PDubs.
I am surprised to see so much discontent in the comments on this cab, because to me it looks like a good reproduction of the original, which isnt the case when adding a new looking Terminator plastic to the top of the marquee. I am on the fence because its just one game.
Arcade1Up is laughing all the way to the bank with some of these cabinets. There's absolutely no way the build quality justifies that kind of cost, and those long cables dangling off each gun are hideous!

I just got my cabinet put together last weekend, and I love it… I remember playing this in the arcade as a kid. My only complaint is I wish the game sounds would stay on as it cycles through when you aren’t playing it. does anyone know if there’s a way to keep the game sound on?
Hey PDubs, I agree, this cab is a crowd pleaser, but Someone needs to make some screw caps for this cab. I saw a clip where a guy painted the guns black and that made a huge improvement for almost no cost. I love this cab, totally awesome!

I seen this from Twistedgaming TV video he bought pc 20 dollars speakers for his KI machine and yes it does help out alot on OutRun, Killer Instinct NBA JAM and now T2 from Amazon
Hey PDubs, I just saw an interesting mod to this cab....someone figured out that you can pull the monitor back so that it is recessed into the cab. It didn't impact gameplay at all and did look interesting. You may want to at least check it out if you're thinking of doing a unique mod!
I got two for the price of one 🤣 There was a bank issue after I ordered and was told to try again so I did. My bank statement then showed two charges for $699.99. I contacted A1U and got a refund on one which my bank statement reflects the refund...all good. Then on delivery day I find two T2 cabinets outside my front door. I decided to roll the dice and see if A1U contacts me for a pick up but I’ve yet to receive any email regarding this and no extra charge of $699.99 added to my bank statement. Generally I’d be very quick to fix this issue to avoid problems but instead decided to feel this one out. If my next bank statement comes back clean then I can sell this one for probably $600-$650. Or hold on to it to see if it’s value appreciates as the Star Wars cab did.
This cabinet could’ve been so much more. It should’ve been such a love note to Terminator fans, but it just comes out half assed and it’s disheartening. I love the looks of mine and my guests enjoy it, which is all that matters, but it’s still a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully some updates roll out and fix things or perhaps add another game. Put Buck Hunter on it for crying out loud.
The poor sound and emulation glitches are frustrating. They need to get the basics right if there selling at a premium price. I remember seeing a video on the turtles in time cab were they were saying there's an issue with the sound emulation. I wish code mystics had done this one. All that being said i love my t2 cab. I bought the szasbos topper and marquee. I also installed a logitech subwoofer and a 3d printed coin door. This one is a keeper for sure.
Well I buckled and bought it…. And got the Szabo Marquee…40$ And got PC speakers sub.. 50$ And got a Coin Door … 40$ And did the cord mod…. And painted the guns…. So yeah it’s a heck of a display piece now… but a tad over the top work and price for ONE game.

Just bought one a week ago on dell $300 and a $150 digital guft card i think thats a win even though they have those little issues i feel thats a good price

PDubs, Judgement day for the T2 cab :) Great review! For me, it's more about space and nostalgia level. Right now I have no more space in my home arcade after purchasing the big nostalgia hitters for me. Though I enjoyed T2 back in my college's Arcade, it was never a go to machine for me. Getting to the helicopter stage and never being able to get past it was a frustrating point for me as well, but it never deterred from my overall fun. Still, wouldn't it be cool if Arcade1up added a "one shot kill" option for the helicopter stage? Maybe it would take away from the fun, skill for sure, but many it would be funny :) If I had unlimited room, I would've picked this one up for $200, but no more. The value of the game included just isn't enough for me to give this one a look. However, I'm SO GLAD Arcade1up was able to bring out this highly requested cab to those who wanted one. So many great options for us all :) vgv
PDubs, I agree. For the price, too many things that need to be improved. I'm so happy that the variety of games on my Big Buck World made it worth the value for me :) I wouldn't have purchased it if it weren't for all the mini games I discovered it had. This is the kind of shooting cab I wanted, a bevy of shooting gallery games. Sure, the hunting is still fun, but I skipped on this cab when it first launched, because I didn't have an interest in just shooting animals. Now that I can shoot flying cow pies from grinning cows, that sold it for me! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a House of the Dead cab. But again, they have to get the number of games to value right for me and hopefully a bigger monitor :) vgv

Hence per this review don't buy at full price. Not worth it. Buy on sale or don't buy at all. Since this old video was posted the cab has been marked down many times

It's cool. I'm not gonna knock it. But for the price of an iPhone 13? Not for me. Plus, it's a lot easier to trade/sell an iPhone. I don't know how much it costs to go through the game in an arcade, but I don't think I'd play it through enough to make it cost effective. Unless you can parlay enough RUclips views to pay for (some of) it, I can't justify the price myself. It's really cool, though. Thanks for sharing!

Put at least another $100 on top of that price if u want that topper and marquee.. As much as I want this cab I have to wait on a deep discount. I'm waiting for dragons lair. Something tells me that DL will be at least $700.
Was wondering how the Sinden Light guns were used with Arcade1up. Too bad there isn't border settings I don't even notice it on my setup its so thin. Great video!
Thanks for a great review. This was goinig to be my first arcade 1up. But they went out of their way to not let me want to buy it. Like, why a riser if the sidepanel is already in two halves? It would have been cheaper to lose the riser. Also they didn't use the original t2 font. The thing I remeber the most is de booming voice of Arnold saying AWESOME, and they could not get that right. I know you like the bezel but I just want it original and that's black. The marqee that's not good, again. The worst thing for me is it not having scanlines. It's all about the nostagia right? Then why make the cabinet allmost completly not like the original? I can't believe you guys keep buying Arcade 1ups when they are this bad.
I look at all arcade1up cabs as a base to which to mod if you want it truly authentic. Arcade1up is good about setting that price with just enough features to have you question buying it or getting a real cab and fixing but what is in their favor is size not many people can fit a real cab in their house so they bank in that when setting the price. It’s like if you see a cab you really always wanted you’ve got to bite your tongue abd purchase it knowing you’ll need to improve on it with mods. But ya for me I would wait to purchase these cabs and look on marketplace down line I always see these cabs on sale for good prices or ya wait till the stores discount them if you are Leary about buyers remorse.
I bought this cabinet. Only Arcade game I really liked growing up. I liked others but never really played them much. I played this one everytime I went to mall. So for me this one was worth the money. Is it worth $700? No Arcade game is worth $700 for just 1 game. Lets be honest we don’t buy these for primarily playing the game. We buy it for the look. The white line around the screen is the one thing I don’t like. I watched this video before buying it. I probably wouldn’t have noticed/cared about the white line if hadn’t pointed it out. But he’s right this game was very dark in the Arcade version. So I had the bright idea to put black velvet tape around the white borders. It made it look a lot real good because it enhanced the blacks. However when I first saw this video I didn’t realize he said the white lines are for the guns. So thats why my gun didnt work properly after adding the black border. Ooops 😂😂😂 This was sale for $550 a month ago and I should of jumped on it then. I’m new to buying Arcade games and noticed it’s impossible to find the Star Wars Trilogy and Arcade 1up isn’t making any more it seems. So thats why i bit the bullet and bought it for $700 because I didn’t want to risk not being able to get it down the road. I agree with his review. It’s spot on. None of the issues bother me though because I just like having this in my house because growing up I would of thought no way would I ever own the actual arcade game (well a 3/4 in size version of it 😂)
Hopefully they release an update later with scan lines and filter settings. They're probably making sure there's no issues like what happened with bb recently 😆
Really want it , but I wish 1up made mods where you can add more games and have better graphics and smoother gameplay. I had the pinball attack from Mars which is almost unplayable, sold it within 2 months.
Got my machine assembled and played a bit last night. The targeting reticle always gets stuck somewhere in the lower right quadrant of the screen near the edge. What's up with that? This is with the blue gun. I was too burnt out by that time, to try the red gun and went to bed a disappointed little kid.

Have a feeling there’s going to be a pro version of this with a bigger monitor and probably Revolution X if they can grab that license with it. But I’ve been where you’re a that not $699 for all that. And I own the pinball game which it would go great next to, the original arcade game, parts for the gun are really hard to come by. Sinden is garbage, just my opinion but working in the Pi emulation realm, they make you do most of the work yourself to have games be functional with that ugly border. They should have gone with a Phoenix AE or Gun4IR option.
Just bought Mines from kohls before Christmas actually cyber Monday $199 it was a S.O.B to build all the pieces wasn't lining up the screws weren't screwing in an average build is 1 hour this took 4hrs because of what was happening maybe that's why it was $199 my son loves it I did not love the build
2:25 that choking hazard comment is no joke, that shit happened to one of Mike Tyson's kids. Those cables shouldn't be set up like that, this thing is basically a toy and kids are going to want to play with it. Forced bilinear filter is even more offensive than the threat of the cables though, jeez.
You are correct. Per the final thoughts on the video here made many many months ago when this cabinet was new "don't buy it at full price wait for a sale and if you can get it less that $500 you are good to go" do not spend more than that on this it's not worth it. $299 go get it, enjoy!
Love the review and I've been lucky to collect these with no remorse. I do agree on a lot of what you are saying though. My hope is mystery encoder does something like he spoke about with Bee Kong regarding trying to get other stuff running on these.
I still can't wrap my head around folks getting this with one game and it's issues you bring up. That said, if a T2 fan- respect. They're about half off now just four months!
I opened a ticket for my blue gun having a lower pitch rumble feedback and eventually they sent me a new gun. It's a lot better. I also opened a ticket for the audio skips. They say they are working on it. Until they fix it I am not buying another cabinet...even Star Wars Trilogy if the make it.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I hope really hope they do, but I will believe it when I see it. My hope is lifted a little just because of the big blue and KI updates recently. I feel like the sales for T2 are not doing as great as they like and probably paid a pretty penny for the license.
It's a nice option for people who want an arcade like experience without the price. The quality isn't as high as the real machines. My take, get an 80 inch screen and run Mame instead with a PS2 controller..
As cool as this is....for 700$, couldn't they at least also add Revolution X, which was kind of the spiritual sequel? Might be a few licencing issues with the Aerosmith music, but you'd expect that, though...right?
Arcade1Up has some nerve. $700 for that?! That's absolutely INSANE. I actually own several A1UP cabinets but no more. I got the AtGames Legends cab with CoinOpsX and it makes A1UP look silly.
Awesome review man. I like these kind of ones where the product is reviewed after a little while, what it like to live with versus the initial hype. Good to see you're all enjoying the cab I do agree that what you are getting (1 game) is not worth the asking price and I see this as being an issue going forward with the shooter cabs. Outside of Buck Hunter what series of shooting games could you go with to make it feel like your getting something substantial? Time Crisis, possibly get 1 and 2 on the cab, same with House of the Dead, Virtua Cop and Point Blank (Though if Point Blank gets announced I don't think I could resist). I cant see us getting a Shooter cab that will scratch the same itch that the other line up of cabinets can. They're probably going to stay in the niche and only attract the collectors or hardcore fans of whatever series is on them
Pi4 and two wii motes in my tmnt cab and its more than good enough an experience playing t2 alongside all the other light gun games but I couldnt justify this on it own at the price

Any "toy gun" built these days must have orange tips and not be black. Too many accidental shootings
I spray painted my guns black. Easy fix. Looks so much better. Also got to cut the bottom of the plastic to hide the cords. So much better.

Big Buck presents way more replay value. Seems like they took a step back with this lightgun cab while escalating the price. All too common with them lately. I'd consider it at $399. Probably hit that sale point in a few months when stores are tired of the dead space it creates in their stock rooms.

I am surprised to see so much discontent in the comments on this cab, because to me it looks like a good reproduction of the original, which isnt the case when adding a new looking Terminator plastic to the top of the marquee. I am on the fence because its just one game.
Arcade1Up is laughing all the way to the bank with some of these cabinets. There's absolutely no way the build quality justifies that kind of cost, and those long cables dangling off each gun are hideous!

I just got my cabinet put together last weekend, and I love it… I remember playing this in the arcade as a kid. My only complaint is I wish the game sounds would stay on as it cycles through when you aren’t playing it. does anyone know if there’s a way to keep the game sound on?

Hey PDubs, I just saw an interesting mod to this cab....someone figured out that you can pull the monitor back so that it is recessed into the cab. It didn't impact gameplay at all and did look interesting. You may want to at least check it out if you're thinking of doing a unique mod!

I got two for the price of one 🤣
There was a bank issue after I ordered and was told to try again so I did. My bank statement then showed two charges for $699.99. I contacted A1U and got a refund on one which my bank statement reflects the refund...all good. Then on delivery day I find two T2 cabinets outside my front door. I decided to roll the dice and see if A1U contacts me for a pick up but I’ve yet to receive any email regarding this and no extra charge of $699.99 added to my bank statement. Generally I’d be very quick to fix this issue to avoid problems but instead decided to feel this one out. If my next bank statement comes back clean then I can sell this one for probably $600-$650. Or hold on to it to see if it’s value appreciates as the Star Wars cab did.

This cabinet could’ve been so much more. It should’ve been such a love note to Terminator fans, but it just comes out half assed and it’s disheartening. I love the looks of mine and my guests enjoy it, which is all that matters, but it’s still a tough pill to swallow. Hopefully some updates roll out and fix things or perhaps add another game. Put Buck Hunter on it for crying out loud.

The poor sound and emulation glitches are frustrating. They need to get the basics right if there selling at a premium price. I remember seeing a video on the turtles in time cab were they were saying there's an issue with the sound emulation. I wish code mystics had done this one. All that being said i love my t2 cab. I bought the szasbos topper and marquee. I also installed a logitech subwoofer and a 3d printed coin door. This one is a keeper for sure.

And got a Coin Door … 40$
And did the cord mod…. And painted the guns….
So yeah it’s a heck of a display piece now… but a tad over the top work and price for ONE game.

Judgement day for the T2 cab :) Great review! For me, it's more about space and nostalgia level. Right now I have no more space in my home arcade after purchasing the big nostalgia hitters for me. Though I enjoyed T2 back in my college's Arcade, it was never a go to machine for me. Getting to the helicopter stage and never being able to get past it was a frustrating point for me as well, but it never deterred from my overall fun. Still, wouldn't it be cool if Arcade1up added a "one shot kill" option for the helicopter stage? Maybe it would take away from the fun, skill for sure, but many it would be funny :) If I had unlimited room, I would've picked this one up for $200, but no more. The value of the game included just isn't enough for me to give this one a look. However, I'm SO GLAD Arcade1up was able to bring out this highly requested cab to those who wanted one. So many great options for us all :)

I agree. For the price, too many things that need to be improved. I'm so happy that the variety of games on my Big Buck World made it worth the value for me :) I wouldn't have purchased it if it weren't for all the mini games I discovered it had. This is the kind of shooting cab I wanted, a bevy of shooting gallery games. Sure, the hunting is still fun, but I skipped on this cab when it first launched, because I didn't have an interest in just shooting animals. Now that I can shoot flying cow pies from grinning cows, that sold it for me! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a House of the Dead cab. But again, they have to get the number of games to value right for me and hopefully a bigger monitor :)

It's cool. I'm not gonna knock it. But for the price of an iPhone 13? Not for me. Plus, it's a lot easier to trade/sell an iPhone. I don't know how much it costs to go through the game in an arcade, but I don't think I'd play it through enough to make it cost effective. Unless you can parlay enough RUclips views to pay for (some of) it, I can't justify the price myself. It's really cool, though. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for a great review. This was goinig to be my first arcade 1up. But they went out of their way to not let me want to buy it. Like, why a riser if the sidepanel is already in two halves? It would have been cheaper to lose the riser. Also they didn't use the original t2 font. The thing I remeber the most is de booming voice of Arnold saying AWESOME, and they could not get that right. I know you like the bezel but I just want it original and that's black. The marqee that's not good, again. The worst thing for me is it not having scanlines. It's all about the nostagia right? Then why make the cabinet allmost completly not like the original? I can't believe you guys keep buying Arcade 1ups when they are this bad.
Arcade1up has hit plenty of Homeruns and also plenty of swings and misses. This one is not a homerun in my humble opinion
They are not that bad. I own the T2 and it is awesome.
I look at all arcade1up cabs as a base to which to mod if you want it truly authentic. Arcade1up is good about setting that price with just enough features to have you question buying it or getting a real cab and fixing but what is in their favor is size not many people can fit a real cab in their house so they bank in that when setting the price. It’s like if you see a cab you really always wanted you’ve got to bite your tongue abd purchase it knowing you’ll need to improve on it with mods. But ya for me I would wait to purchase these cabs and look on marketplace down line I always see these cabs on sale for good prices or ya wait till the stores discount them if you are Leary about buyers remorse.

I bought this cabinet. Only Arcade game I really liked growing up. I liked others but never really played them much. I played this one everytime I went to mall. So for me this one was worth the money. Is it worth $700? No Arcade game is worth $700 for just 1 game. Lets be honest we don’t buy these for primarily playing the game. We buy it for the look.
The white line around the screen is the one thing I don’t like. I watched this video before buying it. I probably wouldn’t have noticed/cared about the white line if hadn’t pointed it out. But he’s right this game was very dark in the Arcade version. So I had the bright idea to put black velvet tape around the white borders. It made it look a lot real good because it enhanced the blacks. However when I first saw this video I didn’t realize he said the white lines are for the guns. So thats why my gun didnt work properly after adding the black border. Ooops 😂😂😂
This was sale for $550 a month ago and I should of jumped on it then. I’m new to buying Arcade games and noticed it’s impossible to find the Star Wars Trilogy and Arcade 1up isn’t making any more it seems. So thats why i bit the bullet and bought it for $700 because I didn’t want to risk not being able to get it down the road.
I agree with his review. It’s spot on. None of the issues bother me though because I just like having this in my house because growing up I would of thought no way would I ever own the actual arcade game (well a 3/4 in size version of it 😂)

Really want it , but I wish 1up made mods where you can add more games and have better graphics and smoother gameplay. I had the pinball attack from Mars which is almost unplayable, sold it within 2 months.

Got my machine assembled and played a bit last night. The targeting reticle always gets stuck somewhere in the lower right quadrant of the screen near the edge. What's up with that? This is with the blue gun. I was too burnt out by that time, to try the red gun and went to bed a disappointed little kid.
Sounds like you calibration is off. Recalibrate the guns under settings or open a ticket with arcade1up customer service to help you

Have a feeling there’s going to be a pro version of this with a bigger monitor and probably Revolution X if they can grab that license with it. But I’ve been where you’re a that not $699 for all that. And I own the pinball game which it would go great next to, the original arcade game, parts for the gun are really hard to come by.
Sinden is garbage, just my opinion but working in the Pi emulation realm, they make you do most of the work yourself to have games be functional with that ugly border. They should have gone with a Phoenix AE or Gun4IR option.
Sinden appears to have been an overrated gun tech compared to the other 2 that came out right after that lol

Just bought Mines from kohls before Christmas actually cyber Monday $199 it was a S.O.B to build all the pieces wasn't lining up the screws weren't screwing in an average build is 1 hour this took 4hrs because of what was happening maybe that's why it was $199 my son loves it I did not love the build

You are correct. Per the final thoughts on the video here made many many months ago when this cabinet was new "don't buy it at full price wait for a sale and if you can get it less that $500 you are good to go" do not spend more than that on this it's not worth it. $299 go get it, enjoy!

I opened a ticket for my blue gun having a lower pitch rumble feedback and eventually they sent me a new gun. It's a lot better. I also opened a ticket for the audio skips. They say they are working on it. Until they fix it I am not buying another cabinet...even Star Wars Trilogy if the make it.

It's a nice option for people who want an arcade like experience without the price. The quality isn't as high as the real machines. My take, get an 80 inch screen and run Mame instead with a PS2 controller..
As cool as this is....for 700$, couldn't they at least also add Revolution X, which was kind of the spiritual sequel? Might be a few licencing issues with the Aerosmith music, but you'd expect that, though...right?
Arcade1Up has some nerve. $700 for that?! That's absolutely INSANE. I actually own several A1UP cabinets but no more. I got the AtGames Legends cab with CoinOpsX and it makes A1UP look silly.

I do agree that what you are getting (1 game) is not worth the asking price and I see this as being an issue going forward with the shooter cabs. Outside of Buck Hunter what series of shooting games could you go with to make it feel like your getting something substantial? Time Crisis, possibly get 1 and 2 on the cab, same with House of the Dead, Virtua Cop and Point Blank (Though if Point Blank gets announced I don't think I could resist). I cant see us getting a Shooter cab that will scratch the same itch that the other line up of cabinets can. They're probably going to stay in the niche and only attract the collectors or hardcore fans of whatever series is on them
