    you always will get negative comments, don't pay attention, just envy people. i am so grateful with your videos, i finished myself installing plumbing on my kitchen sinks.
    but one thing a had trouble is finding the ABS parts here in Virginia USA, had to ordered online but took long time instead, used 1 1/2 PVC followed your instruction, glued everything and its is working fine, no leaks.
    thank you so much for your videos, keep up with the good work!!

      PVC or ABS really makes no difference. All of the fittings for the ABS also come in PVC.
      I think he used ABS because that was the material of the drain pipe. ABS may also be cheaper but IDK.

    I actually did have that question on your other video. I can see that it's not really a big deal.
    The number one thing I like about your install is that you use real sturdy piping so you don't have to worry about accidentally knocking something loose putting something underneath the sink.
    I suppose if people had a problem with a p-trap issue couldn't they somehow add a trap adapter after the glued p-trap end?

    Great video. Please keep them coming. One quick question. Would you recommend putting a bottle trap and then a p-trap under the kitchen sink? Or do you suggest avoid putting a bottle trap under a kitchen sink?

    • @PROSDIY
      @PROSDIY  3 года назад +2

      It is against code to use a bottle trap for a kitchen sink where I live. I know they are very common in European Countries. They are allowed on some basin installs where I live, with approval. I personally would always use a p-trap for a kitchen sink if you have the room. They are easier to clean and have better flow.
      Side Note: Other traps banned in Alberta, Canada. Bell Trap, S-trap, Drum-trap. They're some specialty traps for specific installs as well. Such as traps for a hair salons that have a screen to catch the hair. Thanks for the great question!

    • @amardeep5821

      @@PROSDIY Thanks for your response. Any idea on why bottle trap is not permitted where you live?

    • @PROSDIY
      @PROSDIY  3 года назад +1

      @@amardeep5821 I believe it's due to the restriction within the trap, similar to a drum trap. This would lead to more clogs since food scraps can be put down the kitchen sinks.

    I can't find anything that addresses my pipe confusion 😒 . I have a clogged drain. The unions at both sinks are glued. The pea trap is glued. There is a piece no one I've watched shows. It is a part of the pipe running between the sinks horizontally. The top has a short slanted "Y" piece with a metal hexagonal screw? I need to know if that is how I can clean out any debris. I need to know what it is called and what it is for. Help an old lady please. 🙏

    • @randallsmerna384
      @randallsmerna384 Год назад

      No, there's no pressure in that pipe. It's just plain drain pipe. Just remember not to turn on the water to rinse your hands when the piping is disconnected.
      (Ask me how I know 😂😂😂).

    how come they dont have the screw on connector near the trap on both sides so people can remove JUST the U-shaped piece for cleaning?? it seems rather stupid to have to remove the whole giant piece with the diswasher drain hose attached....am I missing something here??? thanks!

    • @Marcoosianism
      @Marcoosianism 3 года назад +1

      I had the same question ... At 2:55 I believe he mentions that with ABS you don't have double-union p-traps. The "unions" being the screw on connectors. My kitchen sink plumbing was designed the same way, one end with a screw-on connector and the other end glued in. At least we can now see how to gain access if we need to ... even though it's a small pain. We need to write to the ABS Gods and get double-union p-traps on the market :-)

    • @randallsmerna384
      @randallsmerna384 Год назад

      I believe you could add a trap adapter just on the other side of the glued joint of the p-trap which would then allow the p-trap alone to be removed.
      I really like the idea that there's less threaded joints because it makes for a much more sturdy pipe system so you don't have to worry about accidentally knocking something loose just because you put something under the sink.

      You can do this Net M! As a matter of fact, buy a six pack of beer and invite a handy friend over and do it together 💠. You'll have some friend time and you'll learn something. Next time maybe you can go over and help him do something. Either holding the dumb end of a tape measure for them or helping him do something he's not good at (cleaning, filing, financial planning, etc ). 👍
