All other modellers need to take note: Scratch-building is the truest test of all the skills required, and this is a masterclass. So impressed, it must have taken months and the result is truly a wonder to behold.
Just found this, and I'm totally floored, Harry you are an outstanding craftsman. I just started the DeAgostini kit from Model Space and found your vid while researching this kit. I just cannot believe you created this model from scratch, with every detail of the version of TB2 that we see taking off from it's launch ramp, the one with the castellated black ring round the rear engines. Simply stunning!
Thanks Gary, i own several TB2 models, one being the Takara 1/144 scale which is pretty much the same as the DeAgostini, and always wanted a 3 foot model, hence this model
One of the most beautifully constructed painstakingly perfect sci-fi builds I’ve ever seen. You should be proud of this rare masterpiece!. Congratulations! Stunning museum worthy work!
I am now utterly jealous of the detail, workmanship and the realism of this outstanding model. The best I can do is having just signed up for the DeAgostini TB2 kitset build series. If I can end up with my finished model even half as good as yours I will be ecstatic. You have also planted a seed in my mind that I might (probably with a lot of luck and bad language) be able to replicate the pod and give myself more than the two pods that come with the 'kitset'. At least I have an advantage of a template to work off rather than working from scratch like you had to. You have created a priceless collectible!! Outstanding!
Thanks Robin, I bought the Takara 1/144th scale model several years ago which is almost identical to the DeAgostini, other than a different colour, from the same mold I reckon, great detail and is what I used as reference for some of this build, took me 2 years on and off, but was pleased with the end result, the DeAgostini is a nice model, good luck with the build mate
Stunning work, not just the model making skill, but also the dedication to spending the time getting all the required reference media. You`re in a league of your own.
I’m building an old imai tb2 supermodel kit at the moment .It’s more of a toy really but I’m trying to upgrade it to look more like the original tv version .Found this vid and I am blown away by the pure craftsmanship!Awesome reference material for me which I hope will let me achieve better results with my model .!Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much for taking me back to my childhood. My brother and I loved watching the series and applaud you for taking the time to create this masterpiece. best wishes John
You Sir are a credit to model makers everywhere, your work would be a boon to any model workshop currently in operation. As a lifelong fan of Gerry Anderson and his creations I can say without any doubt that he or any member of his original team would want to shake your hand. I am in awe thank you .
Wow! Thanks for your kind words, like you I've been a life long fan, and marvelled at the models, always want to own them, not possible of course, so built some of my own 😊
Absolutely outstanding. Really admire modellers who scratch build to this standard and what a fabulous result. A beautiful Studio Scale replica. I only wish I had the skills and the time to accomplish something like this. You should be proud of your work. It’s beautiful.
I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy........as a model builder of many scales myself, hands down one of the best models, and video diary!!! I've ever seen. +10
What patience, skill, talent, dedication, and love ...then to show such appreciation for a Television programme that transported our minds thoughts even hopes when we were much younger and impressionable...yet I'll watch the whole series tomorrow and enjoy as if I had never seen it before. Well done sir!
Sir, I stand and salute you! Totally, totally awesome…..a master of model making if ever I saw one. Thank you so much for making this video……. I wish I had 1% of your knowledge. Stu
Wow, I am utterly awestruck, that is incredible, I’m just getting into model building and my gosh if I get anywhere near half that talented I will die happy, top work 👌🏽
Wow, your attention to detail, dedication, vision and skills are all amazing, I can't imagine how many hours went in to such an epic task, the whole thing is stunning, brilliantly finished work. Well done in every aspect. I cannot praise you're work enough.. Kind regards Mel Jarvis
Mate just found you, you are a true Master of scratch building and you even do the puppets too. Can't wait to watch them, I think you have inspired me to get back into scratch modelling and try a space ship. True Genius Subed. cheers from Australia
The DeAgostini kit can't hold a candle to this. All it needs are some Schumerly rockets and it's good to go for The Re-boot! Best built model I've ever seen!
Stunning just doesn't cover this model and the attention to detail 👍🙂👍. Now why on earth has anyone's given a thumbs down to this craftsman and his model making skills, if you don't like it then stop watching it, don't leave any negatively - shame on you people 😡
Thanks so much, unfortunately there's always one or two, I know the music isn't that good, would of preferred Thunderbirds music, but RUclips don't allow 🙄
@@Thunderbirds-models You're very welcome, credit where credit is deserved. I am of an age where I watched Thunderbirds when it was first aired on ITV in the mid sixty's and now I'm in my mid sixty's myself. I never get tired of seeing the Thunderbird Vehicles they are just wonderful to me even now it never dates. the original TV series has never been better in my opinion. Seeing the Space X rockets land back on their launch pad with retro rockets is sheer Thunderbirds in real life and you can't tell me Elon Musk wasn't influenced by Thunderbirds & The Master Gerry Anderson 👍🙂👍
I'm currently building a scratch 1/72 scale Phoenix from TV show Battle of the Planets (G force) . its turned into a 3ft long beamot which occupies all my spare brain space. Patience is indeed a virtue 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks, I totally agree, I tried various positions to get it looking right, although I do have to say, the prop TB2's throughout the series did differ, as did the film versions
You sir are a skilled and talented model maker. Its a shame you didnt get to work on the original series. Your work would have been equal to the original models.
Unbelievable, fantastic, thanks for the video ! ! The model of TB 2 is stunning and what I also like very much , and I believe nobody mentioned that, is the weathering of TB 2 , POD 4 and TB 4. Stunning work Mr. BTW is the TB 4 a kit from Aoshima ?
Thank you for your comments, the TB4 was a kit, slightly modified, did have wheels and wind up mechanism, cant remember which kit, but Aoshima rings a bell
Thunderbirds are GO! Beautiful job!!! So where did you learn your skills for fabrication? Movie model maker or the aerospace industry? I love building models too, but they’re more the kit style. Now you need to build a diorama of the launch ramp on Tracy Island to put TB2 on!
Just did them, I had no idea how to go about it tbh, in fact didn't do it right, I should of made moulds, instead of skinning the foam, trial and error I guess 😀
All other modellers need to take note: Scratch-building is the truest test of all the skills required, and this is a masterclass. So impressed, it must have taken months and the result is truly a wonder to behold.

Very kind, thank you 👍
This to me is a prime example of the pinnacle of scale model building, brilliant stuff, really enjoyed watching this!

Very kind, but not really, i have a friend that builds model jet planes, now they are mini engineered models. 👍
Wow..Surely the most diffiult TB to build due to her elegent lines..a masterful job, brilliant.
