  • I've always thought my Dad could really use a small tractor with a front end loader to help out with chores around the house and we finally found him a John Deere 445 with model 40 front loader. In this video he gets it all cleaned up and ready to use on some projects for Mom.

I'd like to give a heartfelt Thank you to all of the viewers and subscribers of Neil's channel for the kind words and comments. It was fun to work with my grandson Trent sabotaging Neil's channel while he was on vacation.
I'm really enjoying my new toy, I even have Mom using it to carry water to her flower pots.
I was really touched by the great reviews from Neil's followers. If I'm lucky and Neil is willing, I'll see you in some more. - Dad
P.S. I'm still waiting for snow

I too lost my father too early. I only have a few photos of him and even fewer of my grandfather. If only I had one video where I could see them and hear their voices again…. So, I have a small RUclips channel where my children and grandchildren can see me when I’m gone… if they want to.
You might think about making a few videos and posting them… just for that purpose. You can make them public so they can see them without any restrictions.

Me being older in my life, I wish I was able to to be closer to my father. Our history is complicated. Of course. But watching this makes me feel sad of what could have been. What me and my father and brother could of had. Me being happy with my father has passed. He’s not gone, but it feels that way. Neil, I know you do, cherish these moments while you have them. This video above all you’ve made makes me wanna cry for what could have been. And is why I love this channel. Why I keep coming back every time. It reminds me of a time that never happened. But, it makes me happy that Father and Son relationships are still happening. And will still happen. I’m grateful that I’m apart of this great DDD family. Thank you.

I cannot NOT say this. You will never know how it could have been unless you try to bridge the gap. If you are happy with not knowing because you are afraid that it won’t be a good result, I would tell you to take the risk…for your dad, and for yourself. Let him know what you want to do and create legitimate expectations surrounding a short visit. Then do it. Don’t overthink it and remember to take baby steps if it has been awhile since you two have been together. You can always have a next time “carrot” hanging out there. Best wishes

@@659009stan best wishes. One thing is for certain, he cannot accept an offer for reconciliation (of whatever amount/type) which doesn’t present itself. I have seen all possibilities:
      * serendipity brings people together and they both feel stupid/sad for not taking steps to make it happen sooner.
      * one approaches the other and they both have something they otherwise wouldn’t.
      * one approaches the other and the extended offer is rejected and the one offering knows that they did what they could.
      * neither approaches each other and topics remain unaddressed/unanswered until one day when it is no longer a possibility.
All possibilities include some pain and yet, there are big differences.

As a Neil with a 445, that tractor is bulletproof, hell never have isse, though do get the ebay reverse pedal, it'll literally go as fast in every as forward, and if possible the 60" deck is the original"acre taker", I couldn't see if it had the rear pto or the add on 3 point, but if it has the rear PTO those are very hard to find and a wonderful thing to have. You're dad will love it in the winter it's unstoppable
