    Jim Sim. My dad was a pilot flying all the top british planes 1942 ...1945 plus when he came back on leave he would do a low pass over my family's farm and shake up things up a bit my mother said the sound of his plane was one of the best things she ever heard .this small engine 230 cc deserves the accolades when you consider his tempest my 5 was 37 litres and close to 3000 horse power ...

    I remember pretty much everyone used to put a pressure tap into the muffler/tuned pipe of their RC engines to pressurize the fuel tank(s). The advantage of using a pressure tank I guess is that you don't need to prime the engine to get it to start. Those Kolm engines are amazing!

      Yea should be nice a reliable! Also simple!

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 Год назад +2

      LOL. You still need to prime the engine. The pressure nipple only provides pressure to the tank when the engine is running. Not to point out the obvious, but...........

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 Год назад +1

      @CRASH ALEXANDER I can see how both are required, and your wording was accurate. I'm man enough to easily say that. No big deal. The exhaust nipple itself wouldn't supply fuel to the motor without the flexible pick up and the flexible pick would do nothing without the exhaust nipple. You got me, buddy. LOL. The mind can be a tricky thing early in the morning!
      Edit. I even went ahead and deleted that comment, maybe that'll help you can down. We don't need any blood pressure incidents. It's just RUclips. You'll get over it, I hope? 😝😋😛😘

    • @shelbyseelbach9568
      @shelbyseelbach9568 Год назад +2

      @CRASH ALEXANDER Yes, I read your post. I added the explanation that the motor won't provide pressure until it's running. Is that not okay? Should I have asked permission to explain a little further? It is a public comment section, after all. Isn't it? I could be mistaken again, I guess? WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING ABOUT EVERYTHING? It's not that big a deal, my friend. Take a breath, drink a Bud Light, and calm down. It'll be okay, I promise you. 🤪😜😘

You could build a B-25 and install wingtip floats, a turbine in the tail, and give it wing panels from an imperial tire fighter and there you go. I hear you, makes sense to me!
      In reality, though, if you want to put impressive horsepower in a B25, which used radial motors, you use large powerful radial motors, which are readily available and just as impressive. Think Moki. There you go!

    I love nitro airboats. I want to put one of those engines on a scaled up aluminum Dumas Swamp Buggy. That would be insane.

    That's a good sounding engine. The first time I heard one was in a large scale Spitfire and was the closest thing I'd heard to a Merlin engine in a model

    Hello Jonathan. That had to be sweet to hear it Run. Will you be able to Fly it after you build it? Ever think of Getting a Mustang to replace Diamond Jet? I know it not be the Same but a P51 Mustang with a Kolm V4 be Awesome sweet. I still think a Mustang Fun Raising be Sweet and let Fans help you out. Ever other RUclips have Fans help there Build.

    Hi there! How do you secure ball joints on the rod? I see some red sealant or glue on every connection. Can you tell me what’s that? 1:38

      @thelightersideofrc  Год назад +2

      The red stuff was from the kolm factory. For the other ball joints they are a friction fit?

    Amazing. I want to build a 1/4 scale Dehilland Beaver with an engine like this. Or better yet a radial engine. Do you know where I can get a one?

      @thelightersideofrc  Год назад +1

      Moki radial. There is also another company that staarts with a V that is also a great option.

    Ohh Jeez! I remember this being delivered. This is well into the crossover between model and manned aircraft engineering. No doubt this would get a paramotor or ultralight airborne. These things sound great too. 🤔(so I’ve heard) edit: That DOES sound good! grinning like a big kid, love it. 😊
