  • Dinosaur National Monument is a 210,000 acre preserve under the National Park Service located in Colorado and Utah.
I spent a day exploring both sides of the park as part of my Dinosaurland, USA road trip. I started at The Wall of Bones in The Quarry Exhibit Hall and worked my way through Split Mountain, Echo Park, and over to Harpers Corner.

This is a really cool trip review. Can’t wait to get there. Went in the 1980’s, before computers and cell phones, and have always wanted to go back.

Your video had came up in my rotation of videos. Welcome to our neck of the woods! I live in Vernal. I've visited the monument many times, and there's still much to discover. I'm glad that you had fun!
To add, my late mother's ashes are spread out at Plug Hat Butte, she absolutely loved that part of the area.

Sometimes,,like every 10 years,,, those crickets are so thick on the road, it covers the entire road in some sections,, can be slick! Bug guts all over your car!! Where you travelled and squished the crickets, other crickets start eating them, over and over, tracks can get several inches thick!

Been there...worth it ! ! Amazing what all they found....and still in original site. I always said they needed to advertise more...because some people thought the big green dino was just saying there had been some found there. AND...some just went into the little shop there NOT knowing about the shuttle to take them to the site. It is worth seeing for sure ! !

It’s crazy!! It’s kinda nice not having lots of people there but at the same time people should definitely know about it if they’re in the area. It’s fascinating!

Another great place to go to see fossils is in SW, WY by Kemmerer WY, called Fossil Butte National Monument. Not as many of the big dino's, but sea fossils. Turtles fish snakes and even bats.
