I personally think that a total of 7 minutes of ads is a little too much. But I can't pretend to know the first thing about making videos so don't take this in a bad way.

My GiGi was on hospice care for about 2 years. She had dementia and the nursing home said she needed more care than they could give so we brought her home. Her doctor said she probably had 5 months but no she was a fighter and lived another 2 years. We had many many scares when we thought it was the moment. The real moment was far sadder than we thought it would be. She came back. She was lucid and knew where she was. We had a half day of her remembering us and then she passed. It was hardest on my mom, her daughter. She had called her “mom” which hurt my mom a lot. But that day she called her Annie bear. Her nickname. And my mom knew. “Today’s the day mom. You’re going to go see dad.” She cried for weeks after but we were glad GiGi was free from the trap that was her mind.
My mom's neighbor just turned 100 last month and she was put on hospice in her 80's. She was in teally bad shape and they said she wouldnt make it more than a few day. When they took her off of all her meds SHE GOT BETTER 😱 she had to be taken off hospice and she's alive and kicking today! Baking, cooking and gardening everyday! It was the craziest thing! (Not a knock at hospice! My Nana was placed on hospice and she was able to pass comfortably. RIP ☹️) this was just a crazy story I wanted to share
NO WAY YOU TOOK MY REQUEST AHHHHHHHH😭🥰🥰🥰 I bet you already had it recorded but it’s so cool that you posted this so quick🥰🥰 We loveee Nurse Hadley!!! I bought her book for my birthday🫶🥰
When I was a nursing student, we did clinicals at a hospice care center. We would listen to the nurses give reports in the morning, then we would be assigned to the patients of a certain nurse and do rounds in pairs. One of the patients my partner and I were assigned, according to the doctor, should have passed at least the week before. But she was still there. When we walked into her room, she was sitting up gasping for air, completely covered in mucus. Her O2 mask, her hair, the pillow, her gown, the bed. It was just mucus everywhere. It was startling, to say the least. We called the nurse that was supposed to be taking care of her. This lady looked in the room, saw the patient, and said, "Oh well. She's dying anyway." And walked out. My partner and I looked at each other completely flabbergasted by what this lady had said. We called our teacher, who told us what to do. She brought us extra towels. We cleaned her up, cleared her airway, gave her a mini bath. We held her hand, I spoke to her in spanish, told her it was ok and that we would make sure she looked her best for when her daughters came to see her. You could tell she couldn't communicate, but she knew what was going on. She had tears coming down her face. Her "nurse" had come in trying to "teach" us what to do for end-of-life. We told her to leave. The patient passed while my partner and I were standing there with her, holding her hand. I hope she felt comforted by us. Our teacher went and spoke to the director of the facility about the situation.
Every single one of the hospice nurses that visited my Gma at all. ALL became family during that time, they all showed up to the funeral and wrote the most caring meaningful letters after the service. Those women where angels on earth period. My dad's mother's nurse only got to see her once before she passed and the morning she came in and shed a tear and told us all from just the couple hours she got blessed to be with her with, she has no doubt that her whole soul felt so loved and loved so much. Always love amazing nurses especially hospice nurses 🫶
I am so excited for this!!! Nurse Hadley is my absolute FAVORITE!!!!!!!! Obsessed!!!!! Thank you guys!!!! 🥰💕 OMG!! 🥹🥹🥹 DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE, IF NOT MY FAVORITE EPISODE SO FAR!!!!!
I LOVE Nurse Hadley so much!! Her book is wonderful and learning about her experiences in working in hospice is incredibly fun! Thank you for asking her to join you, and thank you Nurse Hadley for agreeing!
Hospice is amazing! I have had a few relatives that have unfortunately needed them and the nurses come in and just make you feel comfortable letting them go. They help you to understand what is going on so that you can be there for your loved one and allow them to die as peacefully and comfortably as possible but it also makes it less scary. I remember the nurse talking to me after my dad passed helping me because once my dad was put on hospice he passed in a week. My dad was terrified of suffering like his mother had so as soon as my nephews left for the day he passed. Having her there to talk to and be able to ask questions of really helped.
I work at a nursing home and while my facility most people have roommates but I love that we don’t have visiting hours the family can stay as long as they want I’ve had people who had a family member with them 24/7 and I think just it is amazing that my facility allows that
This is a good example of one person ruining it for everyone else. Im extremely thankful for every nurse who does their job, because i understand how hard it is, from the hours, to the energy it drains. Doctors arent the only lifesavers, nurses are too, but i am thankful for every kind hearted nurse, its a shame that some do things like this. Thanks Nurse Hadley for sharing your experience!❤
When my Gpa was on hospice we also had moments when we knew he was hanging on but I got my favorite line from him, half conscious he says to the pastor that had just asked him what's keeping him here and he says "I'm looking for my parking place"
my grandma called an ambulance for my grandpa while he was on hospice at home, we were not supposed to do that 🥴 the hospice coordinator and a couple of the nurses chewed my poor grandmother out and were incredibly rude and condescending the rest of the time he was on hospice. she didn’t want to say goodbye to the love of her life, there were absolutely better ways to communicate what they tried to. just bad memories all around with that time. hospice care is so so important and there are many many many amazing nurses and professionals in that field, i just wish things were handled more sensitively.
Thank you for this. This is so important. My mom had hospice. I'm preparing to become a Certified Child Life Specialist. It is a profession that not a lot of people know about. They help children, youth and families cope with illness, hospitalization, medical procedures and death through play. If you have a chance and are interested, please consider doing an episode with a Certified Child Life Specialist.
26:35 my mom was a caretaker, and she had a lot of hospice patients. She was like a surrogate daughter is how she described it. Her job was pretty much was to take care of the patient's home, and make sure they eat something. She loved her patients, not the company she worked for. One of her patients asked her if she got $30 and hour for the five hours she was there, and when her patient found out she didnt, she said, "oh thats just awful." And my mom found out they were charging her poor patients $150, but my mom only got like $90 of it for her hard work. She quit a couple months before she graduated going back to school for phlebotomy, after being a regular medicial assistant wasnt really a job in our area.
My grandma died back in November 2023 and she was in hospice and I had gone to see her on a Thursday and she told me she loved me and I was the last person that she said I love you too. The next day I spent the entire day with her in hospice she could barely breathe And I was with her from 11 AM until 4:00 PM and I laughed my fiancé brought me home and she passed away at 4:05 PM that day. I truly believe to this day that she waited for me to leave because she did not want me to see her I miss my grandma so much to this day.
i'm confused. the distant cousin who had been designated as the caretaker and stepped up to do his best, despite not knowing the patient very well (if at all) because he didn't want no one else to step up and leave the patient completely alone, tells the hospice nurse that an incident happened and he's out of his depth and doesn't know how to handle it, and he decides he's not equipped to be a caretaker for the patient, and you're gonna call adult protective services because he admitted he can't handle it? this guy lived 30 minutes away but was doing what he could to care for this relative that he doesn't even really know. and then when he realized he couldn't handle being a caregiver and told the hospice nurse, the nurse in this video would have called adult protective services on this distant cousin? why? he said he couldn't be there 24/7 and didn't really know what he was doing. he wasn't being intentionally negligent to let that incident happen, and he wasn't purposely putting the patient in danger. not to mention, that a parent has an obligation to take care of their child. that's why CPS is called when they don't. and a child should, in turn, take care of their parent when the parent reaches that stage of life. but when a child loses their parents and is taken by foster services to find them a new home, other family members can't be forced to take the child. they're allowed to say No if they don't think they can handle it. this distant cousin stepped up but is neither the patient's parent or child and does not have the same obligation to take on the responsibility or caregiver in the first place. he didn't just ghost either, he _told_ the nurse that he couldn't do it. that's at least the responsible way of leaving. you can't force someone to take care of someone if they don't have the mental strength to do it. that just leaves both people in a bad situation. seriously, what am i missing? why would the cousin deserve having adult protection services called on him? unless that's just a formality to start the process of finding a new caregiver? but calling APS can also lead to arrests, so.... i'm genuinely asking.
@@KansasNotTheBand this is EXACTLY what I was thinking. The cousin should not have the authorities called on him because he's saying he's out of his depth. I'd also be interested in the law that says an adult child is responsible for a parent. Seriously curious.
@@KansasNotTheBand it’s neglect, even if you weren’t trying to hurt them. The problem for a nurse as you can lose your license if someone else reviews the case and find out you didn’t report it.

my grandma had multiple strokes causing her to go to rehab where they told us she may be there until death as they thought shed never regain function enough to go home into our care. she came home within a month. then for the next 2 years hated that she needed round the clock help.
As a nurse, I LOVE that we have someone like Hadley to advocate for nurses! My license in my own and no one else’s and for ME to protect. Hospitals DO NOT and WILL NOT care about your license. I don’t give the hospital the time of day when it comes to my mental health. When we’re at work we give SO much of ourselves taking care of other people all day, we deserve the time and comfort for ourselves . I love being a nurse and taking care of my patients but me and my license comes first!
So... I love you videos Rebecca but you SEVERELY exaggerated that bad apple story and i went back to watch it to make sure. The nurses license wasnt pulled. She was suspended for the day and was written up.

I wanted to be a nurse so badly. 2 weeks before I was to start classes, I broke my back. Now that I’m healed, no schools will allow me to enroll in the BSN because I’m now considered a liability. I’ve tried to stay in the medical field, and I have an opportunity to do a nursing job that is strictly administrative. The only downside is that I would have to get my BSN. I’ve tried and tried to find a school that will either accept me with my back injury, or allow me to attend all the classes but not do clinicals. No luck so far, and the nurses I’ve reached out to for advice have all admonished me as some horrible person for wanting to avoid the very aspect of the nursing education process that I 1) cannot physically do and 2) will not have to do with this job opportunity. It’s devastating to someone that has dreamed of being a nurse her whole life, and I honestly feel like I’ve hit a brick wall.
Thank you Rebecca! I've been an army medic and then became an RN. The differences are many. Medics can give orders even to higher ranks if its about casualty care. Helps to be polite... but we're armed when we're in the field... And there's the Geneva Convention saying we treat even enemy troops. The sleazy harassment is the same everywhere, though.
My dad was on Hospice for 8 days before he passed away! It was so fast as soon as he stopped his medication! Its still so confusing and mind-blowing! I just hope he didnt suffer too much at the end! It seemed so rough!
So in California, they have something called IHSS in Home supportive services and they pay you to watch the person the people that don’t have anybody to take care of them usually it’s people who need help like washing clothes, getting fed or making preparing meals taking showers but so you get paid for taking care of people but you are not a nurse or anything you just a person to come and basic needs for a person that needs more help. You can only do about 60 hours the most a week I believe I did this for my grandmother in law, her daughter now does it, but it doesn’t have to be a relative
My husband is the one who would be in charge if I was not able to make decisions and we have both went over a lot of different situations and it’s hard but we also talked about what we want to happen to us when we die and we want to be composted
Some states, like California, have programs to hire caregivers for people who are elderly, disabled or blind that is paid by the state. I work with ihss which is covered by Medicare as well.
50:17 We are a Zillennial😂 that sweet spot is like 1995-2003😁 it depends on one’s parents and some other factors😂 We all basically grew up with the same stuff
I'm an hha currently. I'm in school because I'm not making enough. But I love what I do so wholeheartedly. I've only recently discovered Hadley on social media. I really have no idea what I want to do when I finish school. My counselor put me on a degree path Idk what I can do with. It's in the same vein as home health. I can continue it past that and become a nurse. I just really don't know.
Oh I love her I'm so glad you finally had her on as a guest. I requested her and I know I saw lots of other people request her too so yay. I bought her book and love it. I love her videos too etc. But. Ever since my mom unexpectedly died recently it has been different for sure.

My uncle did hospice for his liver failure and they gave him morphine nonstop for weeks, it would keep him knocked out but anytime it went passed a hr or so of a dose he'd be back to screaming struggling it was the only thing that gave him peace, but me I refuse morphine unless it's for surgery and drs. Always ask why and I always say because one day I'm going to pass, and if it ends up being in a way that needs pain management I actually want that to help and not have any sort of tolerance to it lol. But I'd say if anything it just helps them relax to go peacefully I don't think I would believe that it takes them quicker
Lovely episode; my only gripe is the format. I understand sponsorship, you want and need to earn money. But to do the same sponsorship not once, not twice but three times in the same episode just puts me off, personally. I dont mind listening to it once, but two or three times is not my thing at all. 😅 Each to their own but I strongly dislike it. But be safe, be kind and have a good day. ❤
3 sponsors in one video all at the beginning? Can you at least spread them out like one in the beginning one in the middle one in the end. It's kind of annoying to have to sit / fast forward through all of that esp since there were 2 20s unskippable ads before the video started 😭. I mean no offence but 5 ads is a bit too much before the video even begins
55:35 if Hospice nursing is too much death or too dark, you like the one on one in-home patient interaction, then Home Health nursing might be a good fit. I love my home infusion nurse, and I would much rather stay at home, for blood draws and other medical issues.
I only watch your bad apple series because I cannot get through the amount of ads on these types of video. I mean I understand and this is her channel but I can’t fast forward through them while driving and that’s when I like to listen to her most.
Not going to lie if your going to do 3 adds make it one per brake please and dont use the same clip every time its kinda annoying other then that love your videos i dont mind listening to the adds but it being the exact same thing 😅

As a 96 baby too, i also claim both
Zillenial is what I call it lol
YES!!!!!! I LOVE Hadley ❤️
Fun fact- this video has over a million views already. Keep it up everyone!
OMG YES YES YES YES I LOVE HADLEY'S BOOK SOOOO MUCH THIS IS AN AMAZING COLLABORATION
I love her!! Under 40 minutes!
I love Nurse Hadley
My husband is the one who would be in charge if I was not able to make decisions and we have both went over a lot of different situations and it’s hard but we also talked about what we want to happen to us when we die and we want to be composted
I'm so happy about this collab!!
Some states, like California, have programs to hire caregivers for people who are elderly, disabled or blind that is paid by the state. I work with ihss which is covered by Medicare as well.
I love nurse Hadley
I love your videos are so relaxing to❤ watch
Omg once I realized it was nurse Hadley I literally jumped up and did a happy dance
Rebecca, praying your aunt & her fam.
I happen to think the world of her daughters & grandsons!!!

It can also be people with autism.
I love her so much!!!!! ❤
I'm so excited!! I love Nurse Hadley!!
I loveeeee nurse Hadley!!!
I’ve never been more excited
50:33 I am the same thing but I’m gen z vs. aloha. I’ve started calling myself gen zalpha.
No i am physically not allowed to its in my contract, thats why I add chapters
55:35 if Hospice nursing is too much death or too dark, you like the one on one in-home patient interaction, then Home Health nursing might be a good fit. I love my home infusion nurse, and I would much rather stay at home, for blood draws and other medical issues.
Who else loves this series?
NO APOSTROPHE AFTER HEROES! "They are truly unsung hero(INAPPROPRIATE APOSTROPHE)s."
I only watch your bad apple series because I cannot get through the amount of ads on these types of video. I mean I understand and this is her channel but I can’t fast forward through them while driving and that’s when I like to listen to her most.
That is why I add chapters lol but i mean creators have to pay the bills somehow
@@Rebecca.Rogers thanks. I didn’t notice the chapters before because I listen while driving. But now sitting and seeing it that’s cool.
46:12 You have thought they'd early on decide that the case has no merits? Like take the accusation at face value, and there's nothing there.
Why did you put in a double ad break
Hi!😊
I wonder if being a hospice nurse has changed her views on spirituality/religion/whether there is an afterlife or not.
Nurse Hadley! I thought that was you but wasn’t sure. Do you have a bit of a regional accent that comes & goes or did I imagine that lol
Not going to lie if your going to do 3 adds make it one per brake please and dont use the same clip every time its kinda annoying other then that love your videos i dont mind listening to the adds but it being the exact same thing 😅
*than
*break
Maybe you should have paid more attention to more teachers.
Also the punctuation issues. 😬
@@johnclaybaugh9536 I don’t think anyone gives a 💩 about spelling and punctuation while typing on RUclips…
@@makailablumhagen7780 well, someone besides me obviously does.
Amd if one is going to criticize, they should be prepared to be criticized.
Idk what to tell you that is just what is in my contract with them hahaha I mean you are welcome to skip them, that is why I add chapters
I watch Nerf zombie all the time on RUclips
Omfg so many ads wtf
this happened to my son when he needed his shots thankfully, he was given the saline solution instead of something harmful.
Wow
If I'm paying for youtube premium, why do I have to sit through so many of your ads. They are way too much on this video
Cause with RUclips premium you are paying RUclips, but the RUclipsr still get their own sponsored adds
I have no premium and get 1 add?
first! 💗💗
What does thar look like? A lor of money. It looks like a lot of money.
That's the unfortunate truth.
Well it is the us so probably expensive
First...? :0
