I love your videos..I'm learning so much. I have a problem with my piping bags though...I'm using greaseproof paper..but they tend to split and the paint or outliner spurts out!?... what am I possibly doing wrong? X
Have you had a look at this video? www.glasspainting.co.uk/glass-painting-guides/making-a-piping-bag-for-glass-painting It might help. Otherwise I have to say my wife always puts a bit of tape on the join of the bag.
@@GlassPainting thnx..I did so both those things...but as they say practice, practice, practice...and I'm not having the same problem...think I was just being heavy handed. Thnx for replying x
Depends on the base of the paint- if its water based, probably you can add water, but water based glass paints need to be put in the oven to cure. Most of these types of paints are solvent based in which case you cant wash the paintbrushes with just water (you'll need white spirit or something) and also adding water will ruin your paint. In those cases i think you can buy a transparent paint to mix in
Do you have any experience with Self Adhesive Window Lead onto perspex "glass"? I'm curious if it would stick to that. Thanks for the inspiration. Paul
I've never had an issue with the lead sticking to non-porous surfaces. The two projects below are both on a type of thin perspex/plexi-glass. www.glasspainting.co.uk/glass-painting-guides/using-adhesive-lead-in-glass-painting www.glasspainting.co.uk/glass-painting-projects/adhesive-lead-suncatcher
The program I use for designing is called GIMP. Its a free and powerful graphics program. I have done a few articles/videos on using it if you haven't come across it before: www.glasspainting.co.uk/using-gimp
How nice from you to share your skills, good learning tool for me. Thank you.
You are welcome. Enjoy your glass painting :-)
بارك الله فيك، لا اله الا الله سيدنا محمد رسول الله.
And what kind of sealant to make it weather proof i won’t be able to put mine in a oven

Can you add water or something to this type of paint you are using for this project to make it more translucent , seems kinda of thick.
