That said, recent Fray Bentos pies, since they realised that the changed (shite) recipes weren't selling have actually gone back to being acceptable as an emergency keeps in the cupboard for ever food item.

@@TheMagicGeekdom Try the Black Country Living Museum (near Birmingham) or Blist's Hill Victorian Town (in Shropshire). Both are like Beamish, but with a slightly different slant to them. The Black Country Living Museum is about the foundries and coal mines, hence the Black Country name ; it was filthy with all the chimneys and foundries belching away! Blist's Hill has a slightly less grimy side to it, although it was the Cradle of the Industrial Revolution.

Although born in Putney, my parents were living in Richmond-upon-Thames at the time, in a flat in the Art Deco Hillbrow apartments on Friars Stile Road, up on Richmond Hill.
For the first two years of my life (of which, I only have the sketchiest of memories now), I grew up in the area where Ted Lasso lived in the TV series. It was only a 10-minute walk downhill to Richmond Green from the Hillbrow flat, which is the open grassy park across from The Princes Head pub (ie "The Crown & Anchor", in the Ted Lasso TV series).
All these years later, I can still clearly recall being taken many times to the Green as a small child, where I could play to my heart's content.
Shortly after I turned two, we moved away from Richmond and to a town located 30 miles deep in the surrounding countryside.
But Richmond was (and still is) lovely, and the many fond memories of the area, that were constantly evoked by the TV show, still give the 'warm-and-fuzzies' even now.
