I heard a pop song on the radio with a verse of "what's that coming over the hill, is it a monster, is it a monster?" and it always comes to mind when an ugly wind turbine comes into view. Nice ride out👍
Afternoon Peter, I watched this the other day but did not have time to leave a comment, so much happiness in a small package. you just have to love Royal Enfields.
Good morning Peter, marvellous start to a Thursday! The Hunter’s rumble, especially on the climbs, sounds awesome, what a soundtrack 👌🏻wind turbines really are a blight on the landscape, monstrous contraptions! ☹️ Have a great weekend, hope you’re able to get out and about 👍🏻😀
Good morning Dave and I have just joined you and Stan on my way to Harlech. There are so many 'Talybonts' in Wales aren't there. Fabulously warm sunny ride yesterday along Country Roads and lanes. Wonderful it was with halfway refreshments - cheese scone, coffee and the company of the ladies at the cafe too. 💃.
I'm not quite sure to whom I'm replying to here with talk of oats... 🤔😂I have an Oxford Stormex cover and the medium size is a perfect fit for the Hunter.
@@Lanes-Explorer5733fear not, it’s the edible kind of oats to which I’m referring 🤭 I’ve now bought a large Stormex for the Scram, which means Pocket Rocket has a Stormex cover too. That should keep him snug during next winters hibernation 😀
Good morning (just) to you both. Pleased you enjoyed our little jolly out together. We're off over into deepest Yorkshire for our next rides but as a 'Betwixt Thursday's' treat 🤔 there'll be a... 'Look what I've done' video. Relaxing outside in the sun (dappled variety beneath trees) having early lunch here. Hope that wind eases soon for you. X
@@Lanes-Explorer5733 I'm moving to the UK for the weather Peter 😂 Oh well. Maybe these crazy weather patterns will settle down in a year or two. I am putting off deciding until then ! Enjoy the garden. I hope to have a beer on the patio once I've finished my chores and editing Tuesday's video. It will be tight but I hope to make it out there before the sun disappears ! 🤞🍺
Hi Peter thank you for the video, I really do love it around there, Im with you on the turbines, even if they do good things for us I think they are a blight on the landscape, specially up that part of the world. Take care, cant wait for Thursday.
Good morning, Paul. Well I've been trying to find some dryish roads in areas you're more familiar with since your wet two weeks at Ingleton to show you it's not always (just pretty often 😂) like you experienced. In fact Mayday and the 2nd were absolutely amazing. So warm and sunny. But here we are again with rain... In a couple of weeks time we'll be out riding around places you know well but are mostly new to me so I hope you enjoy those. Cheers Paul. Peter
Hi Peter. Another lovely ride. The roads you took today are rather like the quietest country lanes in my part of the world. Any quieter than those are often unsealed and I try to avoid them. As always, looking forward to the next instalment.
Good evening Roy and thank you. Lovely Mayday ride yesterday - warm - in fact it was baking in the later afternoon sunshine when I returned. Wonderful. The Hunter is just such a nice bike for these sort of roads, powerful enough but easy enough to flick around the bends. Enjoy your evening and see you next Thursday. 👍
That was a great ride through some beautiful countryside so definitely a country road. I've ridden a very short stretch of the A684 to get from the B6256 to the B6257, next time I'll have to ride more of it. Thanks Peter
Good morning Mick. Ah I had to look up those b roads you mentioned as I'm hopeless remembering numbers. Yes we've been along both of those. We head down another b road next week and once again I've forgotten its number 🙄 b6254 I think.
Another 'blast from the past' for me there Peter - I used to cut across from junction 37 to Kendal with the coach to give my passengers an extended lunch break at the K's shopping village. Lovely views again all the way across there. 😎
@@martintraffordmoorlandbike7121 Yes, although at present anyone can travel on Stagecoach buses here for £2. So Lancaster to Keswick return is just £4 for 150 plus miles of wonderful scenery
Aye Dave 'tis that. 😊 Yesterday and today were the first really warm days we've had and the insects were making the most of it 😂😂. After 14 years up here from the South I've become a little more used to it. But only a little 😊
@@Lanes-Explorer5733 Tuesday was a first for me. As I did my CBT in late October it was the first dayI rode a motorcycle in the warmth - it was an experience I could get used to.

Hello David. Just watched Jeff and you have a cameo appearance with your new bike 👍. We're enjoying some really warm (hot, even!) weather here so plenty of riding. I've taken the warm layers out of my riding gear but even then my hands were sweating in my gloves! "Cast not a clout" though as they say oop North so they may have to be zipped back in again! Cheers Dave.

@@Lanes-Explorer5733 That would work nicely. And yes, they certainly look like country roads to me. A lovely ride to sign off the day. Have a great one there 🏍️🌤️🌷🪺
It was great going for a ride with you! Weather here is rainey one day dry the next so I get out when I can. Here in Iowa, one of the windiest states in the US, we are covered in windmills...acre after acre covered in "wind farms"....but I have some areas close by so far devoid of the things. Always be thankful for something! Oh, I was surprised about how much standing water was still in the roadway. Is that just this year or normal?
Good morning and thank you. Great to hear that you enjoyed our run out. Thankfully most of the countryside I ride through and love is protected from the worst excesses of man. Yes we get much the same here with a dry (mostly) day followed by a wet one. But May 1st and again on the 2nd we were treated to baking sunshine! Then it's been damp since. After 5 months of rain every day here it's going to take a long time before the flooding disappears. This isn't what we normally get!! Last year by February, March the weather was getting much drier and I was able to get along dry lanes. Not so this year. I watched Saddlebags 73 yesterday and down in Cornwall his lanes were awash. Dreadful! Enjoy your rides out and hope your rains ease off soon. Best wishes from North Lancashire UK 😊
