The first Glock handgun, the Glock 17, was introduced in 1982 and quickly gained popularity for its innovative design and reliability. The Glock 19 was introduced a few years later in 1988, as a slightly smaller, more compact version of the Glock 17. @@jasonsnagel It was made to be lighter than 10mm but more powerful than 9mm, because the FBI wanted to substitute their new, powerful 10mm round for something with less recoil but equal stopping power (because their female agents couldn't handle the heft of 10mm.) It failed at this. It is as heavy and hefty as 10mm, with only slightly less recoil, and has ballistics akin to a 9mm. I'm short it's heavy, but not powerful, and therefore a useless caliber. Everyone has a preference. I own sigs, s&w, 1911’s, walther, cz,ect. And what’s most comfortable for me, and I would bet my life on, are my Glocks. More specifically my 17 and 19. The low bore axis, interchangeable back straps for most hand sizes, sights, trigger, and all around ergonomics is what has fit best for me in all my years of shooting. That doesn’t mean it works for everyone Since there is no one-size-fits-all handgun. Yes, they can seem bland right out of the box, and the industry is saturated with Glocks and Glock fan boys. But the platform has stood the test of time, and has been copied in one way or another, by almost every major manufacturer at one point in time since its inception.
I prefer my 1911 45 ACP. It was designed to stop a charging warrior about to slice you in two parts immediately, not 5 seconds later. I also bought a G19 because everybody has one except me.

I never understood why people had their thumb In that position until I went through some professional training and learned it’s called the thumbs up grip. It helps by lowering your front sight to where your gun is nice and even. A lot of people are more accurate using this grip
@Ben Lane may be right, but it’s still a very uncomfortable and risky firing technique for one handed shooting 🤷🏻 I’ve been active duty military with 12 years of law enforcement and security experience with thousands of rounds down range with hundreds of training hours. Don’t assume I’m uneducated because I don’t agree or express my concern 🤷🏻
@Ben My experience hasn’t failed me if I’ve tried numerous firing positions with one hand. In my experience, I lost leverage and control when I removed the strongest finger from the weapon system. It not only prevents you from firing with a small cant, but it put unnecessary tension and pressure on your firing wrist. It also creates an unnatural and uncomfortable recoil path that can lead to injury. I never said he was WRONG for the way he was firing, but of all the ways you can shoot one handed, why go for cool points when you can chose a safer, more accurate way of firing?

@@michaelscheidle563 cause if you did you would never perfer glock over it. Glocks just work. That's it . Definitely dont have refinement of fn.
I appendix carry a full size Glock 22, it is a bit bulky but i’ve never had any issue with printing. i’ve ran tens of thousands of rounds through it with not a single malfunction.
1 reason I don’t need a Glock 19: Springfield XD.
I love my Glock 19 3rd gen. Had it for over 20 years wit no problems RELIABLE
My Taurus will do that but it usually jams on the 6th one. 😂 Just kidding

10mm or 40 cal for me no hate tords 9mm.
@@nodaerT sounds like .40 is good for stopping power then no? What makes it a bad round in your opinion?
@@jasonsnagel It was made to be lighter than 10mm but more powerful than 9mm, because the FBI wanted to substitute their new, powerful 10mm round for something with less recoil but equal stopping power (because their female agents couldn't handle the heft of 10mm.) It failed at this. It is as heavy and hefty as 10mm, with only slightly less recoil, and has ballistics akin to a 9mm. I'm short it's heavy, but not powerful, and therefore a useless caliber. Even the FBI stopped issuing it (the round which they commissioned) and now issues 9mm, .45, and 10mm.

Gotta get the 19X tho it’s tan…. my only reason and a good one
Definitely recommend. It’s my favorite Glock. I own 3 19X and one gen 5 19 lol.
dude same, literally the only reason i got it, the tan is less scary to liberals if i decide to open carry at gas stations atms etc, “oh he’s just a veteran probably” and it looks cool asf
Thought i was drunk, waiting for 5 reasons
Well written and good feedback! Thanks
Almost got the 19x but got sig instead. Lol
Good choice 👌🏼
Smarter choice
Got a new Glock, wish I'd bought a Taurus instead!!
I'll stick to my 1911, 2 time world champion.
Nothing wrong with a 1911!
Ok old man
I prefer my 1911 45 ACP. It was designed to stop a charging warrior about to slice you in two parts immediately, not 5 seconds later. I also bought a G19 because everybody has one except me.
I think the tanks, planes, ships and rifles had a lot more to do with it.
G19 is insanely reliable and feel buttery smooth but the new p365 Macro does almost everything better while being easier to CCW. If I was buying 1 pistol to cover all roles, it would be either a shield plus and add the new 15rd mags or the new Sig P365 macro which almost same size as 365xl with 17 rds
Love it! I’d sure like to get ahold of a macro!
5 reasons
1. Cause it's Glock
2. Same as 1
3. Same as 2
4. Same as 3
5. Same as 4
What I’m concerned about is your thumb position. Everyone knows you only need one reason to buy a Glock, because it’s a Glock. Lol
Tulamo approved ✅😂
I identify as a Glock 19

Only need one reason not to. I have a SIG P365XL. Fits my hand perfect. One hole groups at 10 yards. 100% reliable. Points naturally. Doesn't feel like a 2X4.
nothing like the feel of plastic to reinforce the idea of what you have in your hand isnt a toy. lighter isnt always better especially when you gotta put multiple hole in relatively the same spot quickly
I think I would rather pay extra and get an HK.
I prefer the Glock 17 myself but i have big hands so that’s probably why
I will say after shooting a 19x or g17… the g19 does feel rather cramped!
Exactly, I dont like the Glock 19 for that same reason. The bottom of the magazine catches the skin on my palm when I reload a G19. A 19x would solve that issue but for now the G17 will do
Nah, I appreciate it. But I'd rather save a little money and go with the Canik TP9SF.
No thanks, Smith & Wesson M&P please.

@@oklahomatradeco CZ SP-01 with a few mods. I have had several Glocks, and no matter how many times I dry-fired I would push the barrel to my right unless I used both hands and held on for dear life. Go with a Canik, PDP, or CZ P10C. You can't get better guns for the money and the triggers are only bettered by custom guns. 4# (tops), breaks clean, and the reset is stupid short. @@mdmonroe82 Good to know! I used to have an SP-01 Tactical, loved that thing! I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Canik. Looking forward to getting ahold of one. @@mdmonroe82 I have the same experience with glocks. Can’t dry fire them and keep the sights steady unless you wrench down super hard on the grip. Glocks man upsides are popularity and reliability. I got a Glock 19x and 43x. Pretty much good there 👍🏻
If u had to recommend someone the 19x between the 43x for their very first gun which one would u suggest?
@@jesusgallardo3184 the 43x. It makes for an excellent first time Gun. It’s more concealable while still maintaining a low recoil. Magazines are plentiful and cheap also.
5 reasons why you should get a xd
1.reliability the things is literally a pocket tank
2. Sights picture is easy to see and follow up shots are ridiculously great
3. Like the glock it has a loaded chamber indicator on top of slide so you can visually see and physically feel if there was to be a round in the chamber
4.magazines are metal and not a plastic piece of shit like glock
5. Xdm already comes with a match grade barrel overall the gun is badass from slide releases to field stripping it and I already mentioned how reliable it is
6. Gun is literally affordable you pay for what you get if not more it comes with a mag holder a speed loader 2 mags YES 2 nice sliver mags that are heavy duty and 3 backstraps
Nice! That was the first pistol I’ve ever owned!
I have an xdm elite 10 mm compact. Love it better than my g27 gen 5
