Sorry I didn't edit out some of the wind noise or me stepping on my helmet basically did the video came in downloaded stuck it on the internet.
Read my comment breaks down a few other things but bottom line is I would highly recommend a super tea because of reliability and price.

I Love my 2020 Super Tenere. I use for long distance travel and my other bikes for local travel. The S T. is comfortable and reliable for touring. I get at least 200 miles on a Full Tank before the fuel light comes on

Tenere is an awesome bike just bullet proof. Pan american would definitely not be for me too many doubts in my head about them.I have rode Japanese bikes 30 odd yrs and they've never let me down.

I have a ST, love it! Harley pan America isn’t without its problems, the Yamaha will probably be more reliable. But you stated you’ve done your research, I hope you have no problems. Son Chaser, CMA in southern Oregon.

I just recently got a 2014 super tenere and just like you, I came from a vstrom 650. I just happened to stumble across mine at one of my local dealers with a stock photo on the listing. Went to go see it and do a test drive, found out when I got there it was tricked out with a full cage, skid plate, full box set, full akrapovic exhaust, and ECU tuned from a local to me dyno tuner. The only things I am looking at changing is the Seat and putting some slightly more aggressive tires on it when the existing are done. Other than that I love it so far.

Almost ready to give my 6,000 mi review on my new Pan America
Update for you it is absolutely a beast of a motorcycle and can say it's the most fun motorcycle I think I have ever owned.
Good luck on your Super T.

It's great to someone in a MC/MM that's not neck deep in the Harley cruiser koolaid. I ride in a MM on the opposite side of Arkansas, and I'm always the odd man out on my ST. Maybe someday I can join you on a ride.
As far as the ST goes, i think if you'd flashed the ECU instead of just running the tuner, you might still be on it. It makes touring feel like sport and sport feel like a mid-size sport bike, and it gets rid of that snatchy throttle response. You may have been running rich, given what the exhaust did to your platics.
I've looked at the PA a few times and always come down to, with the mods I've done to my ST, that the PA doesn't offer anything want.
I'll look and see if I can find your PA review. Like you, I've heard the horror stories, and reviews from bagger riders, so I'd like to hear from ADV rider.

      My old bike?
I traded it in Monroe Louisiana.
Actually talk to a man somewhere that actually test rode the bike.
I will tell you now I do miss it.
Hopefully you got the big giant binder manual with all the maintenance records in it because I had that turned in when I traded it.
I know unfortunately sometimes dealerships throw that crap away.

I have a 2020 Super Tenere. The Super Tenere is a road bike, any kind of road, but a road bike. It is a fantastic bike in the mountains, and the winding roads, it will handle the gravel and dirt roads easily. If you are not happy with Touring mode or Sport mode flash the ECU it will smooth out the throttle and unleash the power. Yamaha screwed up the throttle response in sport mode to meet EPA specifications. It is easily fixed by flashing the ECU.

What clamp are you using on your engine guards for your lights? Is the engine guard a 1' tubing?
I have a 2019 Tenere ES that I bought in 2020 and I just passed 80,000km with no issues.
People in the USA have videos where they have ridden 300,000 miles (500,000km) on their teneres with no issues. It is the most dependable ADV bike out there.
Just got back from a trip down the PCH where to keep up with traffic we were riding at 180kph (111MPH) all day long and the Tenere did it no problems.
Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain and bullet proof reliability...what's not to like.
Good luck with your Pan America. A friend of mine has a 2023 Pan America and has had nothing but computer problem after computer problem. First the new bike wouldn't start, then it needed constant firmware updates to keep it running. It's always in the shop being fixed. Heat from the motor has melted thru his coolant hose causing the motor to overheat. He has almost no km's on the bike cause it's always in the shop. Parts availability for the Pan America is also an issue. Every time he needs some computer piece it takes months to get.
The Pan America is beautiful and sparkly...but if you want an ADV bike to be able to ride and not spend all your time in the shop, I'd stick with the Tenere.
    Ride safe.

      This bike is long gone.
      Traded it.
I do not remember what size the crash bars were but they were made by Givy.
Had my Pan American now for 4 months, already put 7200 miles on it and amazing machine.
Stage 2 kit, 0 to 60 less than 3 seconds, top speed 162, extremely agile, and makes jumps like a dirt bike.
Been through two sets of rear tires already.
Not one issue, not one problem.
Bought it in 2 days later was back in for the 1,000 mile service.

The Super T is definitely Not under powered. 100+ HP rides as well as most sports bikes. The question to ask yourself is am i that good a rider that i can use all of the Bikes power. My personal experience in riding this Bike ........ Real easy to ride .. very nimble .... gobs of torque ..... Very well balanced ( weight low down) and despite its weight relatively easy to pick up. Gen 1 or Gen 2 it does not matter both are great and super super reliable

I had a vstrom 650 and looking for something different you mentioned top heavy , in your opinion is the tenere not as top heavy thanks Steve

    • @VictoryRidersTXKUSA
      @VictoryRidersTXKUSA  10 месяцев назад

Had a 2012 VStrom 650.. put 65k on it and sold it to my nephew in Tennessee.
There was no comparison between the Super T and the V-Strom.
To be strong is light and nimble and when I first went to the super T I felt like I was on top of a Sherman tank.
That super tea had every tuner you could put on it and rode very fast but brother it is a heavy or scared I say top heavy machine and if you notice you sit on top of it and not down inside of it.
Now after 2000 miles on my Pan America it feels 200 or 300 lb lighter than my super T..
Of course it's not that much lighter but it feels like it.
So go test ride a Super T because if anyone tries to tell you it does not feel top heavy their lying or drunk...
      Haha.
You saw the video and know that I absolutely love that super tea but I'm going to say this new PA puts a smile on my face every single time so big that it reminds me of the v65 Magda I had many many years ago.
      Except faster.
