Hey Richie. I just subscribed after I saw this video. I was gonna ask you or if anyone knows. When I looked up the 144001 online some of the ads say XKS 144001 and some just say 144001. Is there a difference or is it the same car?
@Driftomaniacs Do you know if I can connect an XT60 LiPo battery to the Q912 RC? If there is, do I need to cut/solder the wires together to get a connection? Thank you!
Any battery connector can be made to fit, what you should be asking is a question about the battery voltage e.g will the Q912 take a 3s pack? The connector type is what will be the problem. You will need to check with the Q912 spec online to see the connector type which would be my starting point.

Thinking of getting the 144001 but heard that it can’t handle 3S... and that they’re hit or miss at whether or not they are capable of running on 3S. Wondering if anyone could help, (quite new to the hobby) if you have for example 1/10 brushed motor car, and you wanted to upgrade to a brushless system, what parts would you need? I understand for a brushless system you need a brushless motor and a brushless ESC but what about the receiver? I know on some lower grade models (G174 etc) they might have the ESC & Receiver as one unit so you can’t really separate them; but if they are already separate units do you just need the brushless ESC & Motor? And can keep the original Transmitter & Receiver? Cheers.
yes as long as the car has a separate esc and receiver e.g. not an all in one unit, then you just need to replace the esc and motor and keep your original RX and TX
Didn't mean to thumbs down was trying to hit reply button. Anyways tires aren't what's holding it back. 37mph stock brushless isn't going to get 100mph without 3s and high gearing. Trust me you don't want a 100mph RC car. I had a 70mph 1/10 scale touring car. Brushless on 3s. It would catch flight at 60 (air gets under body and slightest bump shoots it 6 feet in the air). On a 1/14 scale I wouldn't want to go over 60 and trust me you'll never notice the difference between that and 100 without an airstrip
Good morning from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I appreciate your instructive videos. They helped me buy my Wltoys144001. Also, quick question: Any plans on reviewing a Kyosho Fazer MK2? Just bought the 69 Corvette... Thanks again for your effort and content.

I'm utterly disappointed, but to mention the disappointment of my 8 year old boy who was counting the days to get his rc car. 😔😔😔😔
that's not good at all. They've been in business for 14 years though and the main problem I battle against is the time difference on the customer service, and covid which hit china first of all. I'd keep hammering away, as they also have this car in stock in the usa warehouse. Let me know how you get on
Any 1/10 brushless system should work. I have been out of the hobby for a while but most of the 1/18 1/14 and 1/12 scales run 540 motors now. For 1/10 scale look at 3-4k kv motor. 1/16 5000 and 1/18 probably could push 6. The higher the kv the higher the rpm but also the hotter it will get. Less weight is less strain which is why the smaller scale the higher kv. Also depends on gearing. If you post the car your planning on getting I will look one up for you that will work good with your car. And of course best value for money.

Wow, this is the first time I've seen someone mention the Fox911 from Hosim/GP Toys. I have a couple of those from what I thought was a good deal years ago. The electronics seem to SUCK. So much delay , especially when asking to reverse- sometimes I have to hit the throttle more than once. Do you know of there is any way to fix that? Right now, none of them work. They will reverse, but wont go forward. Its weird because the tires WILL spin sometimes if I lift the car off the ground. Its a shame cuz it was FUN to drive but only lasted a couple of days. These were my first RC cars (not from Walmart-type store) and I want to start playing again.

Glad I could help
My center drive shaft bent on the tiniest of crashes.
What kind of motor can i upgrade to if i want it to stay brushed...without changing esc?
A 540 or 580 brushed can motor their abt 25$
Great vid
If I replace the tires on the 140001 can I off-road it
Wondering if anyone could help, (quite new to the hobby) if you have for example 1/10 brushed motor car, and you wanted to upgrade to a brushless system, what parts would you need? I understand for a brushless system you need a brushless motor and a brushless ESC but what about the receiver? I know on some lower grade models (G174 etc) they might have the ESC & Receiver as one unit so you can’t really separate them; but if they are already separate units do you just need the brushless ESC & Motor? And can keep the original Transmitter & Receiver?
Cheers.
yes as long as the car has a separate esc and receiver e.g. not an all in one unit, then you just need to replace the esc and motor and keep your original RX and TX
Driftomaniacs thanks!
Anyone know what happened to the redcat piranha? I can't find it anywhere.
It’s been discontinued but for the price the Redcat blackout or volcano for 149 is a great deal
I was looking into a little speed demon you think I could get away with slapping some speed slicks on the striker 144001 ?
Didn't mean to thumbs down was trying to hit reply button.
Anyways tires aren't what's holding it back. 37mph stock brushless isn't going to get 100mph without 3s and high gearing. Trust me you don't want a 100mph RC car. I had a 70mph 1/10 scale touring car. Brushless on 3s. It would catch flight at 60 (air gets under body and slightest bump shoots it 6 feet in the air). On a 1/14 scale I wouldn't want to go over 60 and trust me you'll never notice the difference between that and 100 without an airstrip
Great video
the mustang at the end
I found the WLToys 144001 on eBay, brand new, free shipping, for like $78. Should I post the link here?
not having any luck searching for the piranha.......anybody have a link?

Good morning from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷. I appreciate your instructive videos. They helped me buy my Wltoys144001. Also, quick question: Any plans on reviewing a Kyosho Fazer MK2? Just bought the 69 Corvette... Thanks again for your effort and content.
What’s the difference between the 2s and 3s ?
2s = 7.4 volts 3s= 11.1 volts also the number of cells
cool RCs for the price, great video
I had the wltoys A959-B it’s really good but the suspension is not that good, mine did 55km/h with almost 1kg on top of it
55kh on what surface? I would want to use mine mainly on a skate park but also grassy offroad.
Another great video from are friend with an accent, I do have 1 and #2 and enjoy as street rippers.. Sir Richie is correct when he points out not to jump #1 much as the shock towers bend easily both into and out of whack "ez fix"
I
I have no idea what maot of this means I just want to find a good rc car for my son I think I found the one
would love to find some info or a link on that Piranha........
Look for the Piranha on amazon on thanksgiving/black friday 100% guarantee that's the time they drop it to $75! DO NOT BUY IT UNTIL THEN!
@@DriftomaniacsRC Thanks for the heads up!!!
Can someone tell me what 3S battery I can use in the Wiltoys 144001 or whatever the model is - it’s the one that was the fastest in the video. Also - can someone send me a link to a brushless motor for that car? Thanks!!!!
I used this one from Banggood which is 1500mah and 40C(!) which for the $'s I felt was pretty good, you'll need xt60 to deans adapter though if you've not got one!
what do you mean shelter in place car ? one that you use at your own house ?
yep
Can you use the 4s and 6s on the WlToys 144001??
I'm not sure but I think that it would burn the motor out in an instant.
Can't see the red cat link
I have a traxxas bandit and I am getting one of these
U should do a rc car collection tour Bc it sounds like u have a fuck ton tbh
Awesome video.. Had a yezi 1:18 scale for about $40 off amazon 55+kmh.. Fuckin beastly fast.. It was based off the traxxas titon.. For the price it was a steal. But im in a market for another one 1:10 scale this time. 🔥👍🏽🔥👌

Because of your recommendation I trusted banggood website and bought a 14001 rc car. After waiting for 2 weeks today I received a chest harness (I don't even know what this is for). I've been trying to contact customer service all afternoon and it is a nightmare. At this point I feel I've been scammed. I really hope they will give my money back.
Let me know how you get on
Can anyone link a brushless kit like he was talking about?
Any 1/10 brushless system should work. I have been out of the hobby for a while but most of the 1/18 1/14 and 1/12 scales run 540 motors now. For 1/10 scale look at 3-4k kv motor. 1/16 5000 and 1/18 probably could push 6. The higher the kv the higher the rpm but also the hotter it will get. Less weight is less strain which is why the smaller scale the higher kv. Also depends on gearing. If you post the car your planning on getting I will look one up for you that will work good with your car. And of course best value for money.
I have a hosim or jp or JD toys foxx s911 looks similar two the first two cars u show goes 35 mph and up on a tiny 9.6 volt battery pack with a 390 brushless motor it's a beast of a truck 1/12 scale and parts are ki d's easy to find on amazon amd it's 90 bucks and depending where u buy it could he 70 or 60 I however bought it for 90 on amazon its an absolute beast along with my redcat blackout xte pro which I need to get parts fir bith these cars I git a lit of rcs but really only 2 or 3 hobbygrade🔥🔥💯
The problem is the speeds you quote are the speeds they quote, not the real speed of the cars when tested with the GPS like I did and others have done
@@StanleysRCs No idea! I've NEVER Reviewed or driven the Fox911 so why us anyone talking about it.......
