Watching this video made me smile; I also display an array of "cuties" in front of me in my work table at home. Using a scented candle (at times) gives a calming effect, and most of the time I place some small potted plants nearby. I am more inspired and productive when I am happy with my surroundings (even the weather outside affects me, somehow). "Tsubaki" is another mesmerizing work of yours, Lioba, and I love it. I have watched almost all of your videos now, and I feel (while listening to your voice and watching you paint) like you're a new-found friend I love to hang out with :) Love lots!
Great artwork. 💕 I enjoyed hearing the process and explaining paint issues. I experiment with mixing my watercolors also for the reason you explain ~ washout ~ faded. Sometimes I want a more vibrant look. You have truly executed fine details and the colors are remarkable in this video. Thank you for sharing 🌸🌺🌸
A masterpiece. and thank you for sharing so much valuable info..... I struggle with getting the brightness with watercolors too... going to give inks a try!!
the detail on that fabric looks amazing *_*! wish I could be that loose with my backgrounds as well, it all seems to form out of nothing lol lovely piece!
Aww thank you so, Chris! ^^ I believe since I work with a reference photo it's easier for me! You have to invent every single thing out of your mind!!! D:
Um sorry can't think of a word that describes this painting's beauty Lioba I'm speechless 😍😍😍😍 I love your technique of the ink for added brightness. I was excited to hear you use gouache as well only because I do to because for my flowers I found gouache much easier than watercolour but I thought it was not good that I was doing that so now I know you've done so on some of your paintings then the technique is ok...silly beginner artist self doubt hahaha
Bin gerade über deinen kanal gestolpert und bin einfach nur begeistert! Deine bilder sind wunderschön! Kannst du mal ein video machen, bei dem du zeigst, wie du die skizzen bzw. vorzeichnungen für die bilder anfertigst?
Love your work :) Had a question for you. Can we use gouache over acrylics ? Will the painting crack up later ? And do we need to use some fixative with gouache and water colours ? Lastly, can we use gouache and water colours together ?
Thank you for explaining how to mount paper on a panel. Would love it if you could include a video segment on this in your next tutorial if you have the time! Do you need to cover the painting with anything later over top to protect it?
Hi Lioba! This painting is so stunning! Can I make a suggestion? You seem to be interested in Asian traditional costume, so I think you would be interested in "hanfu". Maybe you can try looking it up?
Hi Lioba, I just thought I’d let you know the Facebook page “Drawing the soul” continues to use your ENTIRE speed paints on their page. I have made many comments but they often don’t get permission and thought I should let you know. Keep doing your amazing work, hard work does not go unnoticed xx
Also I thought I’d mention they must have cut out all of your tags also. They only ever give you credit in one measly line on the comment. I have reported it but just wanted to let you know
Thank you for letting me know, Dionne! I see that they mentioned my name in some of their videos - when they tag me properly that's totally fine. ^^ People don't have to ask me if they want to share my work - but crediting they should do!
I like your colorful and imaginery artwork. especially your geishas. Very inspring to look at :) I painted last year to the topic "Traditionen" including geishas and their kimonos but my colorpalette is much darker than yours. Is this original painting also for sale in your shop?
The original painting has already found an owner - but I'll have a new geisha painting in the work! I'll send a newsletter out with her soon - if you are interested in owning an original piece then you can join my collector's preview on my website and you'll receive a mail once I have a new work for sale. I also share every new piece on my Instagram account. So if you want to be up to date, Instagram is the best place to see when I have new work available! ^^
Hi Lioba, I saw this and immediately thought of you because of the subjects you have been painting of late. I hope you don't mind me sharing this link to the Shen Yun who are performing all over the world. It looks amazing. I took the liberty of finding the link to when they are performing in Germany www.shenyun.com/german back to watching your video :) T x
You are most welcome, when I saw an advert for their show here in Scotland I automatically thought it might be something you would be interested in. Funny how I thought that even though I don't actually know you personally. Only what you have shared here on your channel.

Flora J you don’t have to, but I suppose you could use a varnish or a fixative spray to make sure everything stays safe
Thank you :)
Flora J not a problem!
So goooooooood to watch and follow keep it up :D

I love your art, your paintings always amazes me... But... Please invest in a good pop filter!
Kann es sein, dass du Deutsche bist? :D
Der Akzent klingt ziemlich stark danach (was nicht böse gemeint ist, klingt ganz knuffig :3)
Ellie Bach nun ja, der Nachname sagt alles.
