Bad Boys Ride or Die Overperforms as Furiosa Free Falls

- Though #badboysrideordie performed better than initial projections for the weekend, the film still sold roughly 2 million less tickets than the last film released back in 2020...is the box office for it that impressive? At the same time #furiosa has plummeted down to the #6 spot domestically and is almost certain to lose over $150 million when all is said and done #boxoffice #boxofficebreakdown

Thoughts?
I was expecting from BB4's trailers for Reggie to save the day.
He did. In the movie. 😂
Hopefully it makes money for whoever, but not a movie that interests me. Next movie I'm even remotely interested in is Bike Riders...but I've seen the story arc in the trailer, so I will probably skip that too.
You need to consider T Mobile Tuesday ticket deal. $5 ticket to see bad boys. IMAX $18 + T Mobile deal = $5 cause t mobile covers the rest.
Actually aurprised at how high Bad Boys 4 got, not a doubt in the franchise but just the genre, I mean other recent R rated films like Furiosa have been massive flops. Signaling what I hoped to be the beginning of perhaps restricting what goes into future films. But hm this changes things: I hope Inside Out 2 does well, and can't wait to see the numbers in fall... gonna be nuts!
Thanks for the recap!
Bad boys 4 was way better than bad boys 3. Bad boys 4 was funnier, better action, and knew what kind of movie it wanted compared to 3. Hopefully it continues to have a strong showing.
I agree ❤❤❤❤
Ride together, box office doesn't quite die together! Way to go, Will! lol
Considering this is the start of summer, this feels like a joke! So far, we didn't have a movie over a billion dollars this year! Seems like Hollywood is dying!
None of the movies released so far this year would have made the top 10 in 2019.
@Hedgehobbit Well only three of those movies in 2019 were released before June. Two were Marvel films (at their peak) and the other Aladdin.
U do know the cost of living is up right😂😂😂😂who willing to spend 20 bucks a ticket when the movie will be on steaming between 1 month to 3 months after release.
@@MyDeeroc I did! VCR, DVD, TV, streaming: all those things never replaced going to the movies for me! It is one of my favorite past-times! But there hasn't been anything to draw me to the theaters lately!
Bad Boys should have good legs. It has no direct competition for its target audience. Inside Out 2 could affect it somewhat next weekend since it's taking PLFs but it should stabilize after that.
It’s nice to see Bad Boys still being a successful franchise and even better seeing Reggie kick some ass. As for Apes, the fact the screens didn’t go down massively means there is still a fighting chance it reaches $400 million either this week or the following week.
It would have to make $225 million to break even.
Depends on where it makes its money
I remember when Titanic was the first movie to spend $100 million on production. It was the biggest story in Hollywood for a whole year. Now, a $100 million budget is considered financially conservative. Whoa. 😅
Let’s go!!!!!!!! 💪🏾
Saw Bad Boys 4 on Friday night. Movie was freaking awesome! Fun summer flick. Straight up action flick, had humor, over the top gun battles, and no bs agenda shit. Definitely was better than Bad Boys 3 which I liked but this one still was better. 🤘
Took my wife it rocked!!!
Yeah. My Vudu is showing Furiosa is coming to VOD on Tuesday and IF is on VOD a week later on the 18th.
$200M for Bad Boys 2 in 2003. That seems insane for a movie without CGI. What happened? That would be $340M in today's dollars.
Return of the King was the first movie my dad took me to see in theaters so the screening today is going to be a nostalgia trip. Finally experienced Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers in theaters and loved it. Its also great that its the extended editions.
I just saw deadline make a report saying that Godzilla x Kong had passed Kong Skull Island to become the highest grossing Monsterverse movie and has hit 570 million. I don’t see the updated numbers on box office mojo so I wonder where they got that number from. But, I feel like they wouldn’t report it hitting that number unless they had the data available somewhere.
Shows 567k on Box Office Mojo
@@sdcraig yeah but even legendary and other outlets shared the news it reached the 570 million mark.
Great Box office breakdown as always I’m right there with you never got interest in Bad Boys franchise never watched any of the movies really care less just being honest
If has a foreign box office problem
Not a huge Bad Boys fan, but I will be interested to see if it has legs. Would have thought the Oscars would have injured Will Smith a bit, but he has been a big draw for years!
56 million for the 4th 😂
Bad Boys is the best movie value this week!
Very surprising saw the 1st Bad Boys it was fun but I had no interest in any of the sequel's but apparently a lot of people do so kudos too that franchise. Also glad IF is holding strong while it might not break even it probably won't be a major flop now either. It's a decent 2nd tier family movie that's pro-Dad
I'm actually surprised that Will Smith can still fill seats in a cinema.
Why? He is still will smith!!!😂😂
@@hattiecampbell5375 Not the same Will Smith before the Oscars 2023. This Will Smith is quite literally a cuck playing a "badass cop". It's a bad joke.
He's still has some fandom outside of USA
No Mad Max film especially a spin off should cost more than Bad Boys. You don't give something that's niche a budget that big
I went and saw Bad Boys: Ride or Die this past weekend (as well as seeing Haiku!! The Dumpster Battle for a second time, this time the subtitled showing). I liked the new Bad Boys film but I did think Bad Boys For Life was better out of the last two. It had some fun action sequences and had some funny moments but overall it was enjoyable but not as much for Bad Boys For Life.
Also those screenings of the Lord of Rings Trilogy is with Fathom Events and it's only one film per day (Fellowship on Saturday, Two Towers on Sunday and Return of the King on Monday) and they'll have those screenings the next couple of weekends
You absolutely have the right not to watch it, but your logic as try why others will watch it just seems flawed. After all you don’t give a reason why you won’t watch it, just you don’t understand why anyone else does.
Because its not my kind of movie?
Still a Will Smith fan..men call inclusivity is adding Reggie a killer scene…now that diversity 😎…I still think Bad Boys 2 is the best one..
It's too bad because Furiosa was actually pretty good. Not perfect - but pretty good. I guess Dude Bro action movies still have their audience.
It was actually quite rough
@@OMBReviews I liked it much better my second viewing on an IMAX screen. Didn't solve the story problems but it was pretty and I was already used to the visual style choices. Anyways, my main sadness is that the poor performance of Furiosa has pretty much killed any hope of a proper Mad Max movie, which was intended to be next.
You sound like a Hater
LOL just a numbers man
Yeah, there's a lot of disingenuous on the box office doomsayer side, too.
??? How so? The domestic box office is down significantly from it's high of 2018/2019.
