Very Interesting! I'd love to see a follow up video on the other red, yellow, black, and pink rangers from the original show. As well as Bulk and Skull!
I knew Thuy Trang was dead, but I didn't realize how long ago that happened, nor how young she was. Damn. I rewatched the first two seasons of the show last year (couldn't do the third season, this show's way worse than I remember), and Thuy / Trini seemed a lot cooler than I remembered. Guess I didn't notice when I was younger. Favorite to least (personally): Tommy > Billy > Trini > Zack > Kimberly >> Jason

Oh the bittersweet nostalgia of the 90s. God can’t believe it’s been so long, such a different time. I look back and yeah it was a different time.

It absolutely was a coincidence. Walter said he specifically wanted to be the black ranger, white people make up 80% of American people so I have no idea what you're going on about there (plus he's actually native American so his stereotype color would have been red), and that only leaves one that actually has doubt on it. 1 out of 5 is very much permissible coincidental territory. Think before you comment.
If you think about it, it's such a crazy business plan and insane that it was so successful: hey lets buy the rights to some random Japanese action TV show, dub over all the fight scenes, and mix in some really low budget scenes shot with a bunch of teenagers, writing our script around whatever footage we just happen to have. Absolutely wild.
I haven't seen MMPR since the 90s. I stopped watching them once I found online episodes of Kyoryu Zyuranger! It was so much better in every way over MMPR. But I still feel for the actors and actress of MMPR. They should have been paid more because they were the stars of the show. Im glad a bunch of them made a stand against corporate greed and left. Today, I don't even recommend MMPR to anyone anymore.
Surprised they didn’t mention Austin’s comments about H*tler on a podcast earlier this year “H*tler was a demon on steroids, but he had some pretty good one liners.”
Wow so I went looking for that 2023 movie that I didn't know existed, and there are whole new Power Rangers shows I didn't know existed! Got so much to watch now, I am a serious adult I swear!
I swear Walter doesn't age. He looks the same as he did when he was 23 My heart broke for David. He went through a ridiculous amount of crap, I'm glad we live in a time now where he can be open about who he is, cause there is nothing wrong with him I wish David stood in solidarity with Walter, Thay & Austin (tho Austin being a raging homophobe would of made it difficult for him)
I've been an actor for over 15 years and a member of SAG-AFTRA, and I will say this from experience. Getting a role in a show/movie is not as easy as some think out there. And even after you work a leading role in a show/movie it does not guarantee you anything after. Hollywood as they call it, is not for anyone with thin skin and it is actually getting worse since Covid struck. Less and less projects are being produced nowadays since our last Strike last year, and the one presently today with the video game industry - voice acting. Thankfully we have made the industry far more better than it was in the 90's and things like that happened with this show do not happen anymore, and if they did that is why we just need to make a call to the office and they take care of it fast! On a side note, it's funny I used to be mistaken for "Tommy" by the children which was pretty cool.

WOW. As a kid watching the show in the early 90's . . I had often wondered why Ritas mouth always moved more differently than her words spoken at the time . . Now I know . . Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Watch the old Godzilla movies from the 1960s and 1970s.The terrible voice over acting.😁
I also liked Zach over Adam. Zach was a better fighter over Adam
Zach was a great character, but Johnny Yong Bosh ended up going on to be a VA for some iconic anime characters
Austin St. John may have made a big mistake with the government funds, but I still admire him. We all make mistakes, and we can learn from them. He's still been really good to the fanbase, and I'm sure he's done a lot of tremendous work as a paramedic.
In his plea deal he had to acknowledge that he was aware of what he was doing and did it knowingly with a group of co-conspirators who filled out fake business applications. He has agreed to snitch on one of them as part of the deal. He’s awaiting his hearing for his sentencing.
The company you keep, you most likely become them. That's what I feel happened to him. If he hasn't already, he should separate himself from those yes men.
The green ranger was always my favourite 💚
I can never unhear Rita Repulsa having the same voice actress as Laharl from Disgaea
I remember when everyone at school found out Zach didn’t have a middle finger, nobody could unsee it. Kids are cruel. 😂
I will always be a Jason/Red Ranger guy.!!!
@5:03 he never enlisted. He was a civilian contracted by the military
The red ranger was always my favourite and a huge crush of mine during my teens.
I think hes aged amazingly and suits his chunkier frame now a days and i still think hes attracive.
Adored the Pink ranger, but i always wanted to be the yellow ranger!
RIP Yellow ranger Thuy Trang & Green/White ranger Jason David Frank.
Favorite to least (personally):
Tommy > Billy > Trini > Zack > Kimberly >> Jason
It’s crazy how these kids can make these grown ass adults billions but can’t even provide any type of support system when it’s obvious they’re about to spiral
The red ranger actor dude looked nothing like the gay spicy star...
This was my first favorite must watch show as a kid.
Fun fact: Amy Jo Johnson opened at Woodstock 1999.
She is a very beautiful woman with many talents.
I love that you’re covering more topics!
🙏
Yeah, after the first season I never watched any power ranger TV show, I did not know at the time why my favorite power rangers where replaced and never wanted to watch it again.
I remember as a kid thinking how cool it must have been to be doing this show. Nope, no it wasn’t. The fact that David tried a conversion camp lets you know how terrible that must have been. Oh the bittersweet nostalgia of the 90s. God can’t believe it’s been so long, such a different time. I look back and yeah it was a different time.
Saddest part of Thuy Trang’s tragic death 😢😢
*It happened in the SAME week as 9/11/2001 !!!*
😮
The Green Ranger was always my favorite. The White Ranger was ok, but I always loved the Green Ranger, especially his outfit and the Dragonzord.
I feel the same
Same here
Not all gay men have the "gay voice" and to say that mocking that voice is homophobic is participating in stereotypes.
No ones scared of gays. Eddie Murphy standup couldn’t exist today and that’s societies loss. It’s human to rip on each other.
Really interesting video! A great watch 😊
Thank you 😊
So tragic about JDF. Legit tough guy and even he had problems. Resembles a lot of mens struggles that aren't fashionable to talk about, Chris Mackney comes to mind also. R.I.P JDF.
Fuck the crew members who bullied David Yost! David Yost and Kevin Conroy are living proof that a gay man who is an actor can play a superhero. R.I.P. Kevin
Kevin Conroy -Batman voice 😟
Making the Black Ranger black, the White Ranger white and the Yellow Ranger Asian could not have been on accident.
I think you're right. 🤔
Walter Jones was also the main character in the 90s Nickelodeon sci-fi TV series Space Cases which ran for two seasons.
I heard of that but never seen the show.
DO I REMEMBER THAT?! I feel a weird deja vu.
It was 600 dollars a week. They did multiple episodes each week ive heard
Should've been 6000
60,000 per episode
"Noone liked working with him"
•get him back for three more seasons•
Walter beyond wholesome. Love it
Why am I zero years old learning Rita Repulsa was actually Queen Bandora? Now I have to watch the original with SUBBED captions.
I LOVED me some Kimberly the Pink Ranger. 😮
I thank you forgot one of the most important things for David Yost You forgot he was also in power rangers cosmic fury as a regular
Wow so I went looking for that 2023 movie that I didn't know existed, and there are whole new Power Rangers shows I didn't know existed! Got so much to watch now, I am a serious adult I swear!
I deeply miss Trina & Tommy
I swear Walter doesn't age. He looks the same as he did when he was 23
My heart broke for David. He went through a ridiculous amount of crap, I'm glad we live in a time now where he can be open about who he is, cause there is nothing wrong with him
I wish David stood in solidarity with Walter, Thay & Austin (tho Austin being a raging homophobe would of made it difficult for him)
Audri Dubois was originally set to be The Yellow Ranger
She was fired in January 1993 after asking for better salary.
It's all about greed the producers
They all had the look and charisma to be stars in various shows and movies. How does media waste such potential?
