Fun fact about Jamukha, he was executed in a way that not a single drop of blood was shed, it was Chingis khaan’s way of honoring his old friend. Chingis khaan even offered to spare his life and rekindle the lost friendship but Jamukha refused.
watch out calling him jingis khan. gonna get a lot of people in the comments trying to correct your pronunciation (even though thats his real name) 💀 . Great video!
I love this video! Here are some suggestions for the inevitable part 2: The Battle of Hastings, the Battle of Marathon, the Siege of Leningrad, the Battle of Waterloo
@gummilad2 that's a crazy thing to say, literally any battle could change the course of history, and the Battle of Waterloo brought an end to Napoleon's conquest of Europe, if this battle had gone the other way then there's no telling the effect the French Empire would've had on the world
@ The entirety of Europe except for Naples was basically at war with Napoleon and he was fighting against a more determined coalition and a France with many who didn’t support him if he won Waterloo there would’ve been another Waterloo and he barely had any troops to manage any fronts across France the war of the seventh coalition was over before it even began
@gummilad2 regardless, there would've been consequences to Napoleon winning at Waterloo, there are always effects no matter which side wins the war, history would be different and you just can't say otherwise
Little fun fact about scipio and Hannibal. They had both very similar upbringings with both losing family members almost at the same time. Hannibal constantly requested more troops from Carthage while in Rome however they either refused or helped very little which led to Hannibal not taking over all of Rome. Scipio after the war was basically politically sabotaged as rivals saw his status as a war hero to powerful which they got him exiled. The parallels between them are insane. Both were the best generals of their time in their respective territories, both led their countries to victories, both in the end were basically betrayed by the empires they fought for.
I am a HUGE FAN of how you flipped perspectives to put us in the subject's seat. Ive seen almost every single history doc on RUclips, and this was a pleasant change. Felt like a book more than a doc.
The Battle of Hastings in 1066 was crazy for the English and Northern Europe. It was between the Norman-French army of William, Duke of Normandy, and an English army under the Anglo-Saxon King Harold Godwinson. These battles have sorta been a huge contribution to the English language and its vocabulary and such. Went on a deep dive for a school project once. Quite interesting.
I love how you always make the viewers feel directly involved by using 2nd pov's. It makes it even more interesting. 💕💕 I definitely recommend looking into wars that happened before revolutions. Like how the French and Indian war/7 years war leads to the American Revolution, which then lead to the French Revolution, which then leads to French colony's revolution(Haiti, etc.) Idk if that even made sense fr, but whatever🤷♀️
It's kinda hard to look up, but the Battle of Fort Cooper during the Second Seminole War was pretty crazy. A wounded US army force built a ramshackle "fort" that was basically a field hospital and was under siege from Native Americans for 16 days. The (I think) Oceola tribe basically played "get out of my swamp" for over a fortnight and only stopped because reinforcements finally arrived and they decided it wasn't worth the trouble anymore. They had already been in to Strategically Transport Equipment to an Alternate Location and were running out of stuff to S.T.E.A.L by that point. That engagement was pretty much responsible for the final end to the Seminole Wars. It convinced the tribes to secede a large part of Florida and pushed the remaining resistance further south into what is now called The Everglades. It also forced more of the smaller tribes to join with the remaining Seminole and Miccosukee. Not world changing, but obscurely important.
An insane battle that defies all logic and beats the impossible is Caesar in the battle of alesia. He fought off two armies. One army he besieged by building a wall around the city of alesia to starve them out, the other wall he built around the wall they just built to keep the second army from coming to help! Caesar barely came out victorious and it’s one of my favorite battles in history. -Lack of supplies ✔️ -Heavily outnumbered ✔️ -Surrounded ✔️ -Impossible victory ✔️✔️ But hey, Caesar made it possible somehow
This was a really interesting video! I’m really glad I came across your channel a few weeks ago. I wanted to ask if you if you could do The Battle of Badr, since it definitely goes along with the whole underdog theme you had going on for basically the whole video lol. Anyways, as always, I love your vids and I hope you have a wonderful day!
You should include the Battle of Alessia. Essentially, Julius Caesar, in hostile territory with a starving army, laid siege to a superior foe in an impenetrable fortress by cutting down entire sections of forest to build a fortress AROUND the city. This was no ordinary fortress, either. It was STRONG. The enemy leader, Vercingetorix, sent word to the other Gallic leaders to send help and they sent an absolutely massive army to come free Alessia. Before they got there, Caesar had his men build another ring fortress around the first ring so the Romans were in the middle of this donut around the town of Alessia. I can't stress how massive of an engineering feat this was. Anyway, the massive Gallic relief army showed up and the army that was stationed in Alessia wanted to link up with them, so they both attacked the massively outnumbered Romans at the same time. This was Caesar's finest battle and he barely managed to hold the line. The enemy was forced to surrender and Rome annexed all of Gaul after that victory.
Would love a part two! Especially if you included the battle of Antietam from the American Civil War. It was so bloody and a real turning point in the war.
Bro, you've got to cover the Battle of Carrhae if you do this series. Crassus the wealthiest man in Rome and the guy who balanced out Caesar and Pompey went to conquer Parthia and got decimated by some of the world's best archers in a total massacre and the Parthian general humiliated them, and with Crassus not around to keep the balance, Caesar and Pompey tore Rome apart within a decade. It's a wild battle full of crazy little details, it was wicked.
Saying that Stalin wasn't as bad as Hitler is... debatable, considering that 1. Stalin had no problem with Hitler's views, they were allies before Hitler invaded Russia too. 2. nazi concentration camps were modeled after soviet gulags. 3. Hitler, Stalin and Mao Ze-Dong are known as the most brutal dictators in history, directly commanding the deaths of millions each...
@ENZO542_ I wouldn't say he was worse but that they were both simply horrible monsters with terrifying complexes, and that it doesn't matter which one was "worse", but moreso tgat both are portrayed accurately. Hitler is rightfully presented as concentrated evil, but so should be Stalin. He wasn't some kind of morally-grey or controversial person, he was no better than the failed austrian painter.
If you failed in a battle as a commander under Hitler then you'd probably just get cussed out for being incompetent. If you failed under Stalins command however... you'd probably end up dead in a ditch somewhere
Siege of Vienna is an epic battle in 1683 where the Austrian empires capital Vienna was under siege by the Ottoman Empire the city’s defences were strong but the ottomans were going to blow Viennas walls from underground but like a miracle the polish winged hussars arrived and demolished the ottoman army I think it be cool to do that in a vid

1877 The Battle of Shiroyama. The last stand of the samurai was so crazy and of such historic significance that Sabaton made a song about it. And it's a banger of a song.
The battle of Actium would be really cool! Especially with the context of the lead up, and what may have happened if Octavian died all the times he probably should have died lmao and if Agrippa weren't a gigachad. Thank you! Great vid!
The second Punic war is so crazy! Carthage started as the underdog, but Hannibal’s military genius lead him to straight up massacre the Romans! Scipio was actually the son of a Roman consul who saw war
Bro THANK YOU for making the background of your videos black😂 I’m always watching your videos at night right before going to sleep and the white background blinded the fuck out of me😂

A lot of amateurish historians definitely try to draw parallels between the two that don’t exist, that’s true.
