How to run GTR2 on a modern multi-core build:
1. Start GTR2
2. Start Task Manager (Control-Alt-Delete)
3. Processes
*UPDATE DECEMBER, 2021 WINDOWS 10 - GO TO DETAILS TAB INSTEAD OF PROCESSES TO FIND GTR2.exe**
4. Right-click GTR2.exe
5. Set Affinity
6. Check all CPU cores
7. Go back to game, set MAXIMUM graphics and opponent cars
This workaround may also work on other older PC games. Some older PC games do not utilize all CPU cores, resulting in very low FPS, regardless of your modern GPU. Hope this helps and good luck!

me lembro que por volta de 2007 ou 2008 eu instalei a versão DEMO ( ainda existia esse tipo de coisa ) eu jogava muito rsrs olha quye era um pc bem simples e o jogo roda muito bem
GTR2 is a sim lesson, you dont need the best graphics (AC, GT Sport), you dont need the best physics (RF2), you dont need the best online (iRacing) you just need an EQUILIBRATED package: GTR2
STILL most fun that the sims today
2012: omg it so lag 720p 21 fps
2019: wot it 8k with 120fps
this game looks amazing for 2006 , and to my eyes those are very good graphics and details even for 2020

good tip for multicore. I now have this game with all the best gfx mods, all settings in-game maxed out and still running well over 60fps on the most resource hungry tracks, 50 plus cars, at night in the rain. all this on a Zotac 960 and a i5 4440.
this game can still look awesome and it plays brilliantly.
I have most of the modern sims and gtr2 is the most fun of all of them.

The game is the king of simulation games. A game made in 2006 is compared to games made in 2022. Long live gtr2 you will never die. vehicle physics graphics are beyond perfect satisfying

Expected this to be like so many other performance tips. Utter garbage. I was getting about 40fps in the wet at Mid Ohio in the PnG mod. So i tried it... HOLY BALLS I HAVE 100FPS NOW! THANK YOU! That's astonishing!

I have excellent perfomance and great fps with good picture on my very old hd4670 and very old pentium e5300 )) so you are funny.. wasting so much money on expensive hardware is useless

i am almost always racing with damage enabled in this game, but only my car is getting damaged after a bump with other cars, the other car just keeps to continue the race, why only my car gets damaged?

Thanks! I'm glad it worked out for you! Not sure if there is a way to keep it on all the time. I think each individual program will have it's own settings and you manually have to change them for each program! Once you change the setting, it should save that setting for that program!

a bug , when i playing and i crush, the car began spin in the air, and never stop, i play on intel g33 g31 express shipset family ajaja
I never needed to do that... I guess its because I dont have a old AMD chip :)... My I7 2600K is at 4.9ghz and gets slightly better single thread performance than a 7700k at stock.
I still play GT Legends with graphics mods and I love some CRAZY custom tracks in it. I totally recommend TARGA Florio (It looks so amazing)

@@armorgeddon thank you, I've already got this sim now so it doesn't matter that much, I bought myself a pc and a wheel and gtr2 is awesome. You were correct btw, it does have rain and the rain physics are great in my opinion.

I have a question, why i cant choose the Ferrari or the porsche? I just can plax only with Lamborghini and viper and more. And then when i start a race the bots have the porsche or the Ferrari but the cars are only Grey. Can anyone help me

@@svxn6498 You may got the steam edition. As far as I remember, due to copyright reasons Porsche and Ferrari are not licenced. In Germany, you could buy a version on DVD without copy protection which runs under Win 10. It is called "Computer Bild Spiele" or just "CBS" version and you can buy it on eBay for 3 to 4 Euros.

I have not installed this game in many years. Sorry not sure but it should work fine. The main thing is the processes, not the video card.
