GTR - FIA GT Racing Game is a sports car racing simulator developed by SimBin Studios (later Sector3 Studios) for the x86 PC.
GameSpot said, "Despite its blemishes, GTR is the breath of fresh air this genre so badly needed." They awarded the game a score of 8.8 (Great).IGN.com also praised the game, stating, "Big claims come close to reality.". IGN.com gave a score of 8.5 (Great).
GTR won PC Gamer US's "Best Racing Game 2005" award. The magazine's Andy Mahood wrote, "With its licensed field of exotic sports and GT machines, exquisitely rendered European circuits, and outstanding vehicle physics, GTR advanced the technology of racing simulations to hitherto unseen levels."It was also a runner-up for Computer Games Magazine's list of the top 10 computer games of 2005.

I wonder how you handled the copy protection of the DVD - this is my major problem with Win 10 (the starforce copy protection only worked with Win XP).
However, there was a GTR2 DVD Version with no copy protection in Germany, and this runs out of the Box in Win 10.

One of the few games that can't be played without a racing wheel.
It's perfect with wheel.
Unplayable with keyboard or gamepad.

naw the dudes at iracing probably inspired the people who made rfactor (and in turn gtr)
papyrus, now iracing, was one of the first companies to make simracing games with their indycar and nascar racing series

I've tried dxvk and d8vk but none allowed the use of my 3*4k screen. Dgvoodoo does but we lose the onboard hud. Have you found a solution for this since then ?

This brings back so many memories of good and bad. Loved the game, the gameplay itself was awful!

@@idnintel It had lag issues even with a top of the line PC. It also just wasn't sure exciting either.

@@flakethefox9005 Ahh, ok thanks for response. I remember buying it in 2005 at circuit city (bottom shelf heh) and played it with a momo racing wheel thereafter for 100s of hours. I honestly don't remember lag or performance issues but I almost exclusively was racing solo those days to beat my time on all the tracks.
I think the AI had some problems but that was usually par for the course in those days with race sims.
I just remember the sound and graphics to me at the time were at another level and this was the first sim where I raced GTR cars and I was blown away. It also introduced me to the alien like stylings of the morgan aero 8 which I can take for a spin in asseto corsa VR now - life is great. Take care and have fun!
