- In todays video I install the PRL Downpipe/Front Pipe Combo. This is a huge must for any 10th Gen Civic. Install time was not bad just be patience and let those bolts soak before you take them off the down pipe.

Thoughts on the Downpipe/Front Pipe Install?
Bro what are the codes you need to tic on the main parameters to avoid cel?
Catalytic efficiency is one of them. After install/flash see if any codes come on and then you can go to the main parameters if needed.
Glad I did the PRL DP install too.
A bit more aggressive with addition of AWE track exhaust, and worth the effort. Watched a lot of installation videos, and for someone new to working on cars, my pass to next person to do this:
--1. Heat shield bolts where fun to get off. For 3rd/front heat shield bolt, had to go under car...legs sticking out from under driver's side...right arm up front of motor to 'feel' where the bolt was. Had son from front of car guiding me taking that last heat shield bolt off...and putting it back on.
--2. Taking the cold air intake off gave more room, but for the rivet clamps, just pull gently to get that fastener un-hooked from hose...don't have to cut to get off or put back on
--3. Electrical sensors...unclip from backing by pushing up on center clip on backside. You can't see this clip portion you have to pull up gently on, but after you get it off, you'll see from the metal "V" bracket how it was fastened.
--4. Angle sockets and socket wrench help especially for the 14mm bolts connecting DP and FP.
--5. The O2 sensor from Harbor Freight (tall one...not crow's foot) didn't fit...at least for me...on my 2019 Civic Type R. Went to O’Reilly Auto Parts as they'll rent you the O2 sockets...and refund all money when you bring them back.
What size is the OEM downpipe
I had the same issue with the fp on my 10th gen! Keep up the good work partner!
Hell yeah buddy. Keep up the good work
I did the same catless downpipe really like it
Great job buddy I can't wait for the next video
Thank you!
I don’t even own a Honda and watched the whole video haha but I recently did the downpipe on my MK7 R and that was a chore! Great video and nice car 👍🏼
Thanks for watching David!
Love how the car sounds want to do it to my CTR
That's awesome job! Black power coating on downpipe that helped the heat soak from Turbo, that's great idea! Front pipe looked awesome too! It sounds good over stock. Look forward to see your next video on inlet pipe. I want Type R someday, that's my dream!
The Cerkoteing should help keep the temps down a lot!
@@TTorres1183 I think that Cerkoteing is best way on downpipe instead of exhaust heat pipe wrap.
100%
Sounds awesome! Can't wait for more Type R installs!
Can’t wait for my exhaust to come in!
@@TTorres1183 That's gonna be so sick!
Big facts!
I sprayed it with free all and let it sit for about an hour lol then I hit the ratchet handle sharply with a very small hammer while applying gentle pressure to loosen and they came right out like butter. I never applied very much torque I just let the taps from the hammer loosen it microscopically while the pressure kept it moving
Getting my catted downpipe installed on my focus st and I'm really excited for how it will sound. These babies love making turbo noises out the exhaust
I use to own a focus st. Video is on my channel
" I'm exhausted " haha great video man
But you got it done!
Nice work brotha
I have a auto ex-t. I’m about to change my down pipe as well. Do I need to tune it too?
Hey bro. Can we use wd40 to instead the blaster spray in the video?
Why does it look like the turbo housing is cracked?
I’m currently having issues since I went Catless . it keeps throwing O2 sensor codes saying stuck Rich it is currently tuned. I have the downstream turned off. I don’t know what to do. Can someone help with ideas?
Do you have any engine code for the cat?
will this work on the 2.0 sedan lx too?
Is this with the OEM stock cat back exhaust on it?
Where can I find this downpipe?
He really is "super exhausted" now. 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Nice video. Is this a cated or catless downpipe? Will it cause any CEL with the stock tune?
I have a catless downpipe. My tuner sent my tune before I installed downpipe. So no CEL light.
Nice! Stock exhaust, right? If so, any issues bolting the PRL DP / FP to it? I'm doing the same mods for mine but want to leave the exhaust stock for now. Cheers
Stock exhaust correct. No real issues at all bolting the DP/FP to the stock exhaust.
@@TTorres1183 awesome, thanks!
Same here I just did the PRL CAI, FMIC and ktuner with phearable 1.5 and have the maperformance catted DP and FP on the way but am keeping the rest of the exhaust stock while I do some other stability/suspension mods plus wheels and tires, then will circle back and finish up the exhaust. Waiting to do that last because it wont effect much performance wise and with the DP and FP, I should be content with the sound for a while
Any chance you have a video of the sound while driving inside the car? I daily mine and don't want an aftermarket exhaust, but do want a little more sound without cabin drone
I think the DP would be a good option for you.
Great video
Thanks Chris!
We need some flyby clips!
Lovely 😊
Cool Installation, just a question though, why didn't you coat your heat Shield :-)
Man I should of to be honest...
I have a general question about my car and I’m sure you got more experience than me in this. I have a 2017 civic sedan Ex 2.0L Cvt trans. I was thinking of installing RV6 catted downpipe, do you think it will make a difference in the car? Also will it hurt the cvt? I got Ktuner installed and AEM CAI.
I don’t see why a DP would hurt the car.
@@TTorres1183 Not sure but someone told me it will put too much power on the car that the cvt transmission won’t handle
CVT transmissions aren’t the best...
I am shocked how quiet the car still is. On my GLI a downpipe would make the thing crazy loud. I’m about to order a Greddy for my CTR though 👌
I was shocked as well. It definitely changed the sound for a fact! Now it’s just a waiting game for my exhaust.
@@TTorres1183 yeah I noticed yeah can hear the turbo a lot better which I do like. Have you done an intake yet?
Yup PRL HVI.
@@TTorres1183 that’s what I’m considering! I heard the mishimoto one just sucks
You won’t be disappointed with PRL.
Now you need a full 3 inch exhaust !
It’s been ordered... now the waiting games begin.
@@TTorres1183 which one did you order!
It’s a surprise! 🤫
Do you need a tune after installing the down pipe and whats the cost for a tune
Did you torque your bolt/nuts that connects the turbo and the down-pipe to a certain spec ? Or did you just tighten then? Got my PRL down-pipe and front-pipe, just waiting on my inlet pipe now
Your car sounds good! Gonna sound mean with an exhaust. Keep the videos coming!
You’ll have to look up the Tq specs for those bolts I don’t remember.
Did u retune ecu after this?
Yes I did.
👌👌👌
👌🏽
Bruh Im watching this and sad AF right now because my PRL downpipe still hasn't shipped yet 😭.
It took a hot minute to get all my PRL stuff in. Just be patient. It’s well worth it!
@@TTorres1183 Oh I'm sure man. I got boxes from PRL and aFe Power next to my bed just staring at me, waiting to be installed 😂. KTuner also jailbroke my ECU and sent me a email saying I'll get it tommorow. PRL also said my downpipe should ship by Friday.
I live in Florida too, what part you from?
Nice. North Florida.
@@TTorres1183 Pan-handle huh? I live in central.
Delete muffler and resonator and it gonna sounds better believe me.
I never understood why people would continue to add part by part… I would say, gather all parts and then have a weekend of beer and wrenches
Why thumbs down?
That downpipe wasn’t not fun to remove...
That's $1000 fine here in California lol.
Thankfully I don’t live there!
Everything is a fine in CA. Any emissions mods will get you sent to the Bureau of Automotive Repair to the State Referee for a full inspection front to back and top to bottom. It’s a royal pain in the ass. Only in CALIFORNIA
Exactly why I don’t live in California, enjoy your blue state lol I’ll stick to my right to bear arms and enjoying life, although I do love to travel there to San Diego, I’d never live there. Until they change their politics and all the BS.
Why not edit out all the errors, this will give your video a far more professional look.
That cattless downpipe is about to be raspy as fuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Faccccts
How’s the smell🤣
lol it’s not bad
@@TTorres1183 mine stinks 🤣
