Good work buddy, it’s the lifestyle man not everything goes to plan brotha. Respect to you for keeping your cool especially around Vivian while she helps you
Oh of course! She’s the best, no reason I’d take out my frustration on her. And she did get her cheeseburger afterwards
@@Camhill182 awesome man haha!! Thank you for your service as well sir much respect to you my guy!
I was thinking the same thing. She has a heart of gold and just want to help! Awesome stuff
@@Camhill182 yes she did 👍 good man
E. D
"not taking the engine cover off... Not doing it..." We are cut from the same cloth
It’s nice seeing a video where the person working on the car actually runs into trouble lmao, beyond relatable.
Exactly
You are driving and you blood is boiling and Vivian is calm and beautiful. She’s a keeper.
I just spent pretty much a week putting on lowering springs on my car and the frustration was terrible. I felt this video the whole way. Good job Cam
Yeah man I feel you on that. I debated on swapping my exhaust myself but then decided to pay extra for someone else to do it. So glad that I did. I'll do the small things but if I'm unsure I'm paying someone else everytime, just saves the stress. Glad you keep it real and didn't edit it out.
There’s one thing about you Cam, you never give up. Sounds amazing man!
I totally feel your frustration man! And your still getting it done with some basic tools in a parking spot! You are awesome
You were smart and fortunate to have done this install with very few heat cycles since taking possession of it. Things are still clean and relatively corrosion-free. You used the penentrant liquid on them too and gave them time to soak.
That looked so stressful, especially trying to film at the same time lol. I'm glad you got it over with, can't wait to see more content!
You crack me up man😂 I feel your frustration. We’ve all been there at some point.
+1 for the people not including or skipping over the most important part of installs. Glad you got it done even if you might need to get it adjusted...sounds awesome.
Cameron keep it up! Installs are usually frustrating. You’re gaining experience.
Totally know the feeling and frustration. Thanks for being raw and not just cutting it out of video. We’ve all been there and feel your pain on installs like this.
Don't pay anyone to do it. Realize as frustraiting as it is for you it helps out so many of us followers knowing what we are getting into and also the small things everyone else forgets to add into their videos. You break it down at each nut and bolt. Keep up the amazing content cam!
Thanks Matt
Cameron, first, I want to thank you for taking the time to make/share this video ! It was fun watching it!!!
been waiting for this video! loving the videos :)
Fellow 2020 owner here. Appreciate the content. I have to admit that I was dying of laughter at your frustration because I can definitely relate :P
Got say man love your videos proud to see a RUclipsr that actually work on there fk8, I'm a technician used to work for Honda now I work for Acura and I was hoping those downpipe bolts did not break ,lol what I usually do is heat them up before I break them loose those things could be a nightmare lol.
Thank you my friend
Bruh your car sounds amazing. Can’t wait to get a type r for myself
Glad you got it all done man! 💪🏻
Thanks man. Your install video helped!
Ive watched a ton of these installation videos and this is by far the most comprehensive and down to earth.
Thank you
CamHSquad!!!
Been waiting for this one cam
I totally understand your frustration with this install. I put in the FP/DP in my 20’ SI. After taking an entire Saturday to get everything apart, the studs snapped off inside of my turbo. I ended up having to remove my turbo and had to take it to a shop to be drilled out. For my next vehicle, I will no doubt hire someone to do this modification!
I feel your pain man. RUclips sometimes make this shit look hella easy. You’re by far the most relatable experience I’ve seen.
I stress with you on the install my brother. I wouldn't even attempt to do it. I have no patience as well. You and Vivian is like Bonnie and Clyde lol Good sportsmanship for Vivian. She's awesome. I wouldn't even had recorded the install yo. A+ for doing so my man. Overall it sounds DOPE!!!
Vivian definitely saved me from freaking out
ngl, this video with the relaxing music made the install not look too bad XD but ive seen how hellish this is.
Appreciate you for your work, helped me a ton man 😁
Thank you for this video :) I'm going to install the RV6 catted dp on my CTR next week, together with MAP race exhaust. Can't wait to hear the sound :D:D Greetings from Italy!
do you need the carb version hondata if you're in CA or can you get the race version?
Been following you for awhile now I love the content keep it up
Thank you
I like how you leave all the reactions on working on your own car people really think it’s easy and fun but they don’t see what really happens behind the seen.
AYE Good job tackling this yourself! You killed it Cam!
Thanks Hayden
I'd recommend carefully pushing against the head of the wrench while pulling on the handle of the wrench. It gives you more leverage and torque to get those bolts off, while also not straining any other components around the engine that may move from solely pulling on the wrench. At least, this is something that I tend to do and it helps me :)
Felt your frustration! Every time I use a tutorial off RUclips they skip over the most crucial parts haha, good work and it sounds clean.
Yessssss another vid!!! Sleeping can wait
Somebody get this man a Milwaukee 3/8 electric ratchet.
It's the lifestyle "Gotta put in some wrench time" God job though I've been there 12 am 1 am figuring why it ain't boosting and I work the next day. Awsome content man
I learned, after taking off the turbo inlet pipe on my FK8 multiple times, that magnetic sockets are your best friend. Expensive and only available on Amazon in 1/4", but sooo worth it.
This was hilarious. You've tapped into my spirit animal when I do these things. Transverse mount engines are fun eh?
This is how it should have sounded from factory! Sounds amazing.
That look that she gave you when you said hassle half. 😂
Damn bro great video!! I been in IET for the past 9 months so i got some catching up to do
Vivian seems like the dream girl:
1. she’s willing to help with your installs even during the times when it’s frustrating.
2. She went on the test drive after to either share the victory or comfort you if something was off (sadly something was)
3. SHE PLAYS HALO!!! 😍😅
Lucky man
I feel your frustration. These modern engines can be a pain to work on. They are so tightly packed. Subaru's can be even worse but I still love them. Happy to see Viv is always ready to come to your rescue... she even plays video games with you (Just wow). Treat each other well. It's hard to find supportive partners.
The sound is there, the tone is great but I feel like power tools and proper torque specs would make the install much cleaner. I love you and I hope you take this as constructive criticism!!! ❤️
Bro - felt every ounce of your frustration on that install. I hate when things like that don’t go smoothly, but very rewarding once finally completed. End result was great sound.
P.S. Vivian is super hot!!
Thanks for this! I was going to order both the front pipe and dp together, but after watching your video. F@$k that noise! 8:32 was all I needed to here. Love your channel btw ;)
Yes! You will get better with every job you do! Have Vivian read the instructions lol!
This video awakened memories in me. I put a PRL stage 2 kit with a GTX 3071R on my 9th gen Si. Ran that on 18 psi for years. Was it worth it? Yes. But the install... Jesus. I am not a Honda master tech, nor did I have a gorgeous, gentle-hearted wife there to help me 😂. All in all, I'd say your demeanor was just fine, Cam. Wait til you gotta remove the subframe for something. That's next level rage!
Well I just learned after a month of problem free, I just got my first CEL with MAperformance downpipe today, told I need a tune, kinda wish that was mentioned in the product description
Major props to you on your install. You clearly have more patience than you think cause if that were me, I’d have wanted to take an AR and unload a whole clip or two, on the whole car! 🤬😂
Lol, i think the best thing was starting it at night and finishing the next day
I just watched a video from a year back with you plastic dipping your civic you an that camera guy to funny 😂🤝new sub
lol thanks! that plasti dip video was from 2019!
you and Viv make a good team!! Car sounds great! Situational awareness....LOL!!
sounds awesome bro :)
This mans needs a hug
Lol Right tool for the job, I put a small earth magnet at the bottom to the 12mm socket to hold the bolt for the TIP less than 5 minutes for the 3 bolts. You learn a lot after 60 years. Don't give up on crawling under your cars. Another great tip for moving around under your car is place cardboard down makes sliding around under there a breeze. way better than a creeper.
Car looks and sounds great bro 👌🏾 great job obviously I pay people to work on my car professionally lol 😂 cause I have no patience but mad respect ✊🏾 to people that do it themselves forsho 💯🔥
LMFAO the frustration is relatable asf it’s satisfying to know that i’m not the only one cursing my ass underneath the car trying to get stubborn bolts and shields off
The frustration is so relatable 😂
Sounds amazing 🤩 😮 👍
It’s always a good idea to have a extended magnet pen handy in case you drop those screws and nuts
no idea what a downpipe is but your videos are entertaining so I keep watching
Lol thanks!
Haven’t watch in awhile since u sold ur si . But now that I have a type r I’m back
Thank you for the video I’m paying for this install lol. Good on you to push through
Loving these vids bro, been watching your content since you first got the 10th gen si which was basically when I got mine, the type R is awesome man I’m in love with that damn car. Adding you to Xbox too let’s get down on halo sometime haha
Oh sweet! Thanks Steve!
@@Camhill182 of course man gamer tag is deedle28
I’ve watched this like 5 times already idk why lol love the exhaust and down pipes and feel you on the trouble getting shit out. RUclips likes to make it seem like shit just slides out after a couple bolts removed and that’s it. Far from that
Sounds soo sick
Good man, using the PB blaster! That stuff is WD-40 on steroids. I've used a rubber mallet to tap the socket wrench to loosen up stubborn bolts.
Cam, when I did my Acuity addons to my shifter (base bushings, gate, spring and short throw adapter), I unplugged my car battery which then tripped the anti theft lock. I couldn't test drive the car for hours because the car was not doing ignition. On top of that I didnt have the short throw adapter tight enough and it came loose. What should have been a 1hr job took me all night. i was so pissed. Nothing goes right for me either. I had to go have a hard shot of alcohol during the mods.
ps. your Fiancée is a fox. You did good man.
That sucks. Thats how it goes sometimes. I feel the struggle my friend
Lol love it. I live in stockton probably around your area just ask for help i ran into all the same issues you had eventually you get it. work makes it much easier with a car lift i dont like laying on the ground this was the second worst install the worst i had was the hondata fuel system that took about 2 days
Damn.. yea im not looking forward to that one either
Awesome, and when u break it in itll sound even louder, sounds really good though
tried this yesterday and you weren't kidding! took me about 6.5hrs to do. Have no car experience aside from the intake install. I think i have a leak somewhere though, my R only making 19psi boost. gotta check out the bolts soon
A mechanics tip for bolts that you think you might drop putting them in or taking them out.. put a little grease in your socket, it makes the bolt stick.. if you don't have grease just put a small piece of paper towel over your socket before you put the bolt in and it will make a snugger fit and help it to not fall out.
Brilliant vid. I felt the frustration haha
Good job sounds great, was wondering did you put the heat shield back on?
Hasselhalf or not, it sounds awesome. I can’t wait until mines even close to this one.
Yea. It’s an exhaust leak man. You can hear it when you let off. Good news is you did that hard part! I felt your frustration 100%
Nice sound!
When I was installing my intercooler I had to do a ghetto rig since I found out part of my radiator support was broken 😅 I bought my CTR at an auction and got it fixed. I believe the lift they used damaged the lower front side of this car because they’re careless on how they lift their cars and lifted this really low car from the front.
Couple of times have they bent up the exhaust or hit the bumpers
Cameron! sup type R bro!! keep it real, loved the new video!
Bro dont beat yourself up! Car modding is about troubleshooting and learning to overcome obstacles and continue to gain knowledge. Its important to have high standards but dont forget why you wrench in the first place: to make the car more enjoyable and have fun. Its all in the name of fun. Never forget that!! Cheers
Doing the springs on this car is also a PITA!! They always make these jobs look so easy on RUclips!
Mines also on springs with 245/35 tires and I feel it’s to ruff on the freeway. How are you liking it on springs ?
I like mine. Mostly the stance it gives the car. I did notice a little difference after installing them but nothing drastic. I’m on Whiteline springs with 255/35/18.
Bro it was a pain in the ass but the point is you got it done💪🏻👍🏻
I love how you go through a few “just end my life right now” moments lmao. Been there. That top O2 sensor plug was interesting to figure out. You have to press on the underside of the clip it’s attached to and then to separate them there’s actually a push tab on the main wire harness side that is less visible. It’s further up than you expect.
got a nice growl to it now, im liking it
This is how it feels when I work on my r56 mini cooper lol. Luckily I have a lil bro that helps a lot with the hard to reach areas
Little brothers are the best for working on cars lol. Especially if they like cars too. I refuse to do a job without mine now.
Sounds good man
Nice one, I was thinking that maybe you could put the heat shield back in the downpipe, because the inlet pipe to the turbo is over the downpipe and when that thing get pretty hot I guess is gonna transfer to the inlet pipe and maybe is not much but maybe will help with the heat and high temperatures, any way good one, there's always a first time for getting mad with the car we like.
Research, patience, and the right tools are keys to reducing frustration when working on cars. Get yourself an electric rachet, electric impact, swivel sockets, various length swivel extensions, breaker bar, torque wrench, short and deep metric sockets, and a couple good magnetic base LED flashlights. That's probably $500+ in tools but in the long run, it's worth it to work on your own car and do it the right way.
Hey cam, Nice work with the R keep it up. Are going to do a e85 set up with a stage 2 tune in the future? Any thoughts
Great job on doing it yourself. I definitely don't have the patience for this type of things. I'd be breaking shit
Nice job dude .
Thank you Joe
Only took me 3 hours and I installed the prl inlet too 🔥
Lol I love this vid 😂 good work bro
Super sick!
The idle is sooo deep. And on light acceleration its sounds very sexy.
Dude my wife thinks I’m crazy because I constantly rewatch your videos lol it’s pretty loud huh ? I got the race & down pipe and it cracks loud I might buy the street version, after the downpipe it got even louder
Hey thats alright with me. Thank you for watching! And yea I bet yours is very loud
It sounded like when you take a ratchet and spin it like a helicopter when you backed up in reverse lol. But every project has its days man!! Keep up the awesome vids
sounds good 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Def invest in cordless power tools, esp. an impact and ratchet. Stubby impact too if you want. They make this so much easier. Also long-ass extensions and swivel sockets are your friend when working in the engine bay :)
