I own a sig mpx. I have not had one Melfunction yet. I live in northern MN and I had it out in -17. I let it cool down for over 40min before I used it in -17 while I shot my Glock 19. It eats wolf steel case ammo all day. I personally thought this would be a great gun for my wife but the charging handle is hard to pull back when a fully loaded mag is Inserted in the mpx. Sometime I even have a hard time changing it. Other than the stiff charging it’s a great gun.
chizplayaz it seems to be getting better. I thought about getting a different charging handle since they could help with leverage. But for right now my wife finds it easier to charge a ar15.
Erwin Rommel suggestion.. perhaps lock your bolt back prior to loading a full magazine. Your lady won’t have to charge the bolt over a full mag and all she has to do is press the bolt release
4wallsL yeah that's true except when it comes to letting a bureaucracy like the ATF pass regulations that have a strength of a law and leave terms so broad and open that could lead to future bans. Like the ATF saying anything that is a rate increasing device which could mean they could ban your magazines, triggers, buffered springs, bolt carriers, and just in general semi-automatic weapons altogether.
I sent my protest about the ATF broad regulations concerning bump stocks and rate increasing devices through the GOA comments list. Colion still should not be discounted because of his strong defense over the years for the Second Amendment. We all take different routes sometimes to get to the same objective-- defend the Second Amendment.
I picked up the MPX with the folding SB Tactical brace. I had the option to get one with the PDW brace, but the cheek weld on the older folding brace is *perfect* for me.
Also, thumbs up on using a pistol caliber carbine to help ease new shooters into learning the basics of shooting. Recoil is almost completely mitigated, and much more accurate than a handgun, which builds positive reinforcement as they are rewarded with hitting the target right away. When I take friends out who've never shot before (usually Elm Fork or Garland if it's not freezing or raining cats and dogs), I invariably bring my Scorpion EVO S3, and a 9MM side charging AR, and they end up getting the most trigger time.
What I like about tiny PCCs is I think they're perfect for home defense. I live in a terrible state where suppressors are illegal, but if I ever move, a suppressed 9mm PCC will be my go to bedside gun. Easier to shoot than a pistol, quieter than a shotgun, won't overpenetrate like a rifle.
I just picked up a gen 2 MPX last month. I love it. Only thing I'm not a fan of (which I plan on replacing soon) is the folding stock. Most definitely a great choice for a beginner for sure.

Since when has any stock Glock trigger had a well-defined wall? As a Glock certified armorer, I can tell you that Glocks are designed to finish the cocking of the striker as you pull the trigger past the take-up. If you want a clean break on a Glock, you need to replace the entire fire control group.

Agree 100% on getting new shooters Especially kids and women) behind pistol caliber carbines/SMGs. 3/4 of the battle with new shooters is recoil and noise; pistol caliber carbines mitigate both.

Geissele doesn't recommend using their triggers in the MPX. The cheek weld is pretty bad on the brace, but it's better than SBRing one :)
