I first heard JP when I was living and working on Guam. He is little known here in Australia. My opinion, he is one of the greatest singer song writers of all time.
Can’t even put into words how beautiful this song is. Sad to say I’ve only very recently discovered him and his music. Not sure how I made it 47 years in life and not come across his awesome music before. Heartbroken also to discover he passed away last year. I have been listening to John Prine for 45 years. I discovered him by buying an 8 track. It was Diamonds in the Rough. It drew my attention because it was a hot pink color. His picture on front and because I have always felt like a diamond in the Rough. From that day in 1972, I have been hooked. I got to see him in concert twice. Both times he came to our small town in Troy, NY population, 49,000

Saw John in Phoenix in '87. Bonnie Raitt open for him, he did a set, then they did a set together (including Angel from Montgomery). It was magical.
Actually Dylan is a huge John Prine fan that tells ya something about John Prine right there
