To those that want to go beyond the fundamentals: cancelling Echo's flight to gain momentum and fly higher gives you a lot of room to play with on the majority of the maps. However double pressing shift (or whatever your key binding is) has a forced delay on the side of the game to prevent hardware error. You'll probably want to change your settings on Echo for "Hold to use flight" to be enabled. This way you can simply tap you flight key and space and fly on skybox forever. Been doing this since forever (since the bugged flight speed that allowed you to go from your spawn to the enemy's in 5 seconds on Nepal) and it's kinda nutty how much it enables this character.
I've tested this and if you have good timing there's no difference between hold or toggle. It's just more convenient but for me personally I hate having to hold an extra button to fly.
@finesseandstyle Yeah no that is the issue tho. Having to practice your timing or focus on it is a detriment to your gameplay. A moment of hesitation, or mistake and your dead. Hey awkward, thanks! you are helping me to see fun in multplayer games again. Thinking how can I get better every match turn to be a good challenge and I'm finding myself on it.
Yeah modern team focused games have rotted the brains of so many of us, blaming others instead of improving ourselves. Awkward is such a good wake up call to that shitty attitude.
This all day. I have not only seen a massive improvement in my gameplay but also my mindset in games (not just Overwatch). I was never one to really struggle with getting titled or being toxic but his positivity and “focus on yourself” commentary is extraordinarily admirable nevertheless

Awkward has helped me so much in Overwatch, improved my understanding of the game, the characters & how to play. But what I like about him most is...if he messes up or makes a mistake, it’s not someone else’s fault it’s his own and he admits it. Being able to admit your own mistakes is a very admirable trait. You are accountable for your own failings. Own up to them, learn from them and improve. A great lesson not just for Overwatch but in life as well.
That almost diamond positioning from the Ana at 1:00:59 is actually what gives me more motivation that i should be able to climb. I was legit a couple months ago as a brand new gold player got put into a plat a high plat 2 game and i got stomp rolled. But if there are high plats that play like that ana. I've been following you for a few months now, and every time I watch one of your videos, you manage to motivate me to face life's trials and tribulations. I'm telling you this when I don't even play overwatch anymore xD. Anyway, thanks for what you're doing man, I wish you all the best and lots of fun on overwatch with those little noskills :p
Some nice info in this video been wanting to learn more echo, good content dude
been waiting for this!! thank you
im so happy you saw how viral echo/pharah are right now for no particular reason, I havent been into the other echo U2GM playthroughs
I just found this guys videos recently. This guy doesn’t need to do unranked to GM anymore. Such an oppressive smurf and I feel bad for the 5 on the other team. I haven’t even seen him play with top 500 tbh lol
Look at his second yt chanell he post his top500 games and look at his older vids where he played in top 500 he was contanders player and he explained why he doesn t play in top 500 anymore
Love to see you expanding to DPS guides, helps a ton, since I barely play DPS these days.
the off angle tip actually will come in handy in my future games, i didn't realize how important it was before, ty.
i literally JUST picked echo and this shows up on my feed as i'm getting off work
We love you man
I like your new haircut dude btw, thanks for the new Unranked to GM
thank you for this, I've been wanting to learn echo for a long time
Honestly, my favorite part of these vids has stopped being the great gameplay and started being the "awkward delivers hard truths to a salty chatter." Never fails to entertain.
A pharah unranked to gm would be nice to have since I mostly play her. The echo unrank to gm gives me some pointers of what I can do even though they are two different fly heroes. Appreciate the content.
been waiting for the echo unranked to gm !!. echo is too op fr
Awkward, have you ever done a u2gm on a controller, would be fun to see
I dont even play echo that much but this is awesome! I've been waiting for this vid and you delivered!!
Not to dick ride but if you're looking to improve in Overwatch, Rank Up Academy is the place to be. I went from hardstuck plat for years to 172 peak on the top500 leaderboards. Get involved
3:25:36 that nade was absolutely outrageous
This unranked to gm has gotten me hooked on echo! This hero requires a lot of practice to get the hang of, but the kit is too fun and is 100% worth learning
This guy is brutally honest.
That’s awkward.
I went into this video thinking i played echo pretty well and didnt deserve my rank but now i realise that there are so many things i can improve on and i have been playing far better ever since thanks for that
Thank you for these vids and thank you for advising us to rank up in real life as well, you're a real one.
12:05 That was just disrespectful 🤣
Awkward has helped me so much in Overwatch, improved my understanding of the game, the characters & how to play. But what I like about him most is...if he messes up or makes a mistake, it’s not someone else’s fault it’s his own and he admits it. Being able to admit your own mistakes is a very admirable trait. You are accountable for your own failings. Own up to them, learn from them and improve. A great lesson not just for Overwatch but in life as well.
To compare “bad teammates” is like playing with bad master players for him. Also “bad” teammates is usually just not communicating
this is exactly what andrew tate look like if he played overwatch
awkward's take on ego is so inspirational actually really good example keep the good content awkward really like it
Hey man, love the videos. We don’t care how long each video takes to upload, the quality is always worth it.
I’ve been waiting for so long for this video
I’ve been waiting for this forever thank you 😭
I'd love to see him do more of his 1 on 1 training sessions
You mean the stuff people pay him for?...
FINALLLYYY I MAIN ECHO AND HAVE BEEN WAITINGGG THANK YOUUUU 😭😭😭 LOVE YOU AWK! ❤
4:10:26 "I will open my profile in a sec" - never opens it
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE !!
25:00 moira goes in "damage before the fight, damage before the fight" BOOM
That almost diamond positioning from the Ana at 1:00:59 is actually what gives me more motivation that i should be able to climb. I was legit a couple months ago as a brand new gold player got put into a plat a high plat 2 game and i got stomp rolled. But if there are high plats that play like that ana. Man this should not be hard if you apply yourself. I believe that now.
Yoo I've been waiting for this awkward love your vids bro 🙏🙏
cant wait to finish watching this video! I would also love an unranked to GM as Gengi in the future!
Same here! Id like to see how the mentality/gameplan changes or doesnt change with a more dive focused hero.
brother spitting hard facts and I LOVE it !!
we need those and people like you in our society
I love how ur humble ab ur sticky bombs, like ur probs top 10 best ow players and to be humble is great to see
NGL this was way better than Samito's Unranked to GM with Echo... I feel like he complained a lot lol
awkward is the biggest reality check there is
I was binge watching ur videos for a week this new video is a gift from god
