Alsalaam alaikom. The footnote applies to me as a revert to Islam. I have very little Qur'an memorized and with other difficulties it becomes very difficult to pray without assistance of a broadcast or recording. In fact, this is how I learned Al Fatiha, to play the video (faced down that I couldn't see) over and over again with my every salah. One day I found myself reciting independently and it was pretty much the happiest day of my life thus far. Alhamdulillah. I've tried to do two or eight rakat for taraweh prayer on my own, but it hasn't been fruitful. I'll keep trying because I want to please Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. I will not rush to the easy way, but it's a comfort to know if I need help I can get it in order to pray.

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who is skilled in reciting Qur’an will be with the noble, honourable scribes and the one who recites Qur’an and falters therein, and finds it difficult, will have a double reward.”

    Rasoolullahi صلى الله عليه وسلم
obviously preferred his followers to pray at home .. secondly this VT fatwa opens the door for new frontiers for Bid'a .. then, it may be argued that virtual jamah is more apt for Jummah prayer as it is a compulsory congregational prayer... unfortunately we find in Islamic history that daring " scholars " have often been reasons to divide the Ummah ... I appeal to all my brothers and sisters to disregaed such thoughts when, on this issue following the tradition of our Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم
    is clearly uncomplicated.

This is the beauty of Islam.. as this is just an opinion of Shaykh Yasir and the fiqh jury and the majority.. and if someone does.not.agree.with his opinion.. he/she can follow the opinion of Shaykhs such as Shaykh Shabir Ally and other some prominent shaykhs who holds the other opinion .. as we all understand taraveeh is not a.necessity but prayers such as Eid salaah there would be a bid doubt as what to do. May be in that scenario the other virtual opinion.is good

I find it very suspicious that women have been praying upstairs, downstairs and in whole different buildings here in the US for decades and no one had anything to say about it being invalid.
Yet when men are affected, the fiqh councils get together to outlaw it. Can someone speak up for desegregating the masajid so that the female congregants can see the imam too?!

    • @MM-xn3on

Your Pakistani relatives probably follow the Hanafi view, they have two main opinions: 1) Dice games aren’t allowed 2) That games that use dice for gambling and involve real money aren’t allowed, those that use dice but are skill based and don’t involve gambling and money then it it allowed. The second opinion is followed by most Hanafi imams I know. You talk about you are not comfortable with the opinion of following a Jamaah while being miles away......
I mean for Ibadaat, there should be clear cut evidence to back up a Hukum.....
I don't know why you have to even mention such flawed opinion based on personal point of view......
Just stick to the Daleel Sharii and be firm on it....Ibadaat are not issues that you can compromise on.....
